If you like that, you should look up a series called Masters of Horror. The episode called The Fair Haired Child is my favorite episode and has a similar but slightly different twist.

Honestly, I'm glad these Danger Incorporated kids got what they deserved! Plus, the ghosts need a happy family and Robbie, Lori, and Nathan are the perfect children for them.

I think the old ladies dressed as little girls are a reference to the movie Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. The woman in that movie wears very similar makeup to re-live her days as a Shirley Temple-esque child star. Maybe the women were actresses?
The strange thing is that I felt rather sorry for the dead people in the town. It broke my heart in the end, when they are left behind, begging their victims to come back and help them. It was just so sad.

You're right about "The House of No Return" being forgettable, because when I saw the title, I thought it will be that episode where there is a ghost of a headless kid, the ghost of the boy who loved ice cream and fell down the kitchen elevator shaft and the gohst of the captain who was painting his victims as they slowly were disappearing.
Even tho it was meant for kids, Goosebumps had some creepy ass moments and some scenes terrified me as a kid and gave me nightmares. Like I'm not cappin, Welcome To Dead House actually scared the tf out of me when I was like 12 and unlocked a fear of closets. Goosebumps basically covers everything from ghosts to zombies and haunted houses and werewolves and other freaky stuff and is also a good pathway into actual horror. Like I'm not kidding, recently I binged the entire series just to get ready for big kid stuff like The Conjuring and Hereditary. And I'm 20. 💀💀

This is an unexpected triple feature. And clever theming here considering 3 of these episodes involved scary houses. Out of all of these,I like Dead House the best. A really good plot for a story here. Would definitely make a interesting and scary movie to watch. A good amount of the changes in this are good. Especially the ending here. Dead house is definitely the most thought out of the three houses! It was when Stine was still getting used to kids horror so it might’ve been just a bit too scary but that just makes it better! I think house of no return is awesome! Definitely the best twist of the 3! And the haunted house game was just tons of fun! It’s an episode that’s easy and enjoyable you don’t REALLY have to pay attention to follow what’s going on

That's why 'heaven' is a metaphore, like "I think I've died and gone to Heaven".
- Welcome to the Dead House to this day scares me because it feels the most realistic, lol - I love The House of No Return and it's not forgettable to me; An old friend and I would laugh about the FOREVER part at the end all the time - The Haunted House Game is a good one :)

Speaking of episodes based on the short stories, you should talk about Perfect School. It's one of the scariest episodes in my opinion. I know you mentioned it in the beginning of this one and I'd love to hear your thoughts since it's my favorite :)
I mostly remember that in the books the stories are first-person narrated, just like RL's only non-horror series Rotten School (even though with a title like Rotten School, you'd expect it to be a horrible school or expect the series to be a horror story), and I also remember exactly what the writing font looks like; I just don't remember the font or type face of the chapter or if the chapters even have names. And I also don't remember if it's the "numeric value" like 1, 2, or 7, and 8, or if it's "one", "two", or "seven", or "eight".
