I totally agree pickle! In fact I probably hated it more than you but that's because I was very disappointed that I was proven right on pretty much every single thing I predicted when that first trailer came out which is what I was worried about. But to be honest the first Black Panther wasn't great either it was nothing groundbreaking like some people like to pretend it was. Hell I thought it was a poor black panther movie and I thought T'Challa was better represented in civil war than he was in his own damn film. However, The sequel being even lamer than the first adaptation... For me there's no excuse for that. The experience reminded me of Rise of Skywalker. It just kept going and going and bringing more crazy shit. There were so many characters that didn’t need to be there whatsoever. I’ll add Val to your list. They were just there because of future Disneyplus shows. Ironheart, Thunderbolts, whatever. It’s too bad the filmmakers were probably forced to include them. This could have been a better movie if they had been able to focus on the clash of cultures.

I've already decided that I'm not gonna watch this movie. It just doesn't seem that appealing to me, and I already thought this movie's predecessor was kind of boring. Add that to the fact that I hated the Dora Milaje in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and I just know I'm not gonna watch Wakanda Forever.

Similar to what GLEE did with Cory Monteith, I didn’t like how they just glanced over the cause and reason of death. At least with GLEE they start off with Finn already dead and without a reasoning so we can focus on the grief, but it felt a little uncomfortable with the “life support” things knowing it was cancer that ended Chadwick. Cancer is cancer. Say it. Own that it was the cause. But don’t tiptoe around it and then ask us to burst into tears 6 times out the gates.
This movie completely killed any excitement I had for anything the MCU will do with the Black Panther IP going forward. I honestly believe not recasting T’Challa is the main reason for this and I’m just not invested if the MAIN CHARACTER is not there. No matter how many “emotional” scenes they tried to pull I was like you man I just didn’t care and watching this without the “I miss Chadwick Boseman glasses” really made me see how inferior this movie is compared to the first one. I really feel like the quality of films we will be getting are throw away films that are good watches if you like the characters and comics . there really isnt more love and care over cash grabs and ip ownership. I enjoyed this film! I actually enjoyed this story more than the first film. The only real issue I have with this film is the death of Queen Ramonda- that’s the only thing that felt off in this film. I’m ready to see more of Namor, The Talokans, Mbaku as king, and Shuri as The Black Panther in the MCU!

I truly enjoyed it, and I would like to say some things. I personally believe there was never gonna be a good way to do this film. I’ve seen different opinions (they should’ve recast him, why is the opening this way?, he should have died on his feet, etc.) and based on the world we live in, it honestly would have gotten criticized regardless. Also, I think we should give Ryan Coogler some slack. Given the hand they were dealt, they honestly gave us the best thing to come out of Phase 4 (I’m excluding Spider-Man because it’s more of a Sony production). They had to accomplish three things: - Tell it’s own story - Do the Marvel thing in this overwhelming universe - Pay Tribute to Chadwick And that’s hard to do with everyone involved. The main issue was pacing and runtime as there was a lot in there. But this film is the true definition of how Covid truly effected the process of the whole movie making process. Now, that post credit sequence was what got me. I think it was beautifully done. With how lackluster to out and out bad the MCU has gotten, the film is truly a breath of fresh air for me. Showed Marvel can do great work going forward if they do try. I also believe that with films like Winter Solider and Infinity War, we kinda expect every superhero film to hit out of the park the way they did and I don’t think they have to. Just my two cents however…
I just think you have a blind spot. Because outside a very select few, all MCU movies are of this quality or less. I just see it because I'm not invested in any of these characters. Also, I think we should give Ryan Coogler some slack. Given the hand they were dealt, they honestly gave us the best thing to come out of Phase 4 (I’m excluding Spider-Man because it’s more of a Sony production).
They had to accomplish three things:
- Tell it’s own story
- Do the Marvel thing in this overwhelming universe
- Pay Tribute to Chadwick
And that’s hard to do with everyone involved.
The main issue was pacing and runtime as there was a lot in there. But this film is the true definition of how Covid truly effected the process of the whole movie making process.
Now, that post credit sequence was what got me. I think it was beautifully done. With how lackluster to out and out bad the MCU has gotten, the film is truly a breath of fresh air for me. Showed Marvel can do great work going forward if they do try. I also believe that with films like Winter Solider and Infinity War, we kinda expect every superhero film to hit out of the park the way they did and I don’t think they have to. Just my two cents however…
They could have easily used CGI to show Black Panther fighting a giant army that was invading Wakanda. And then have him die in the battle.

I just think you have a blind spot. Because outside a very select few, all MCU movies are of this quality or less.
I just see it because I'm not invested in any of these characters. I'm watching from the point of view of just someone wanting to be entertained by the movie. MCU has literally coasted on making Iron Man, Avengers and now Infinity War over and over and over and over again and just relabeling it some thing else.
This is basically an attempt at making infinity war again.
No blind spot here, Phase 4 has just been very mediocre. These movies make Iron Man 1 and The Winter Soldier look like masterpieces by comparison.
@@Dylasophical Not really. I'd take Dr Strange 2 and Black Widow over any Phase 1 movie apart from Avengers. Mater of fact they are the best movies MCU has made bar a very select few. Problem has been over saturation. They've made it so watching MCU isn't an event anymore. And because they've been making the same film over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, putting them so close together makes them blend into each other even more.

Each one was either way better film making or way more fun than anything of the 70 things MCU put out this year. Buty you'll be capping till the very end my friend.

If DC makes a quality movie, I'm not too stuck in my ways to admit it. A good movie is a good movie. OVERALL, the MCU has a better track record ;)

DC has and always will make better movies. That's a fact. It isn't even close.
Watchmen, V for Vendetta (Which you refuse to watch cause you know its better than anything MCU has ever put out :) ) Dark Knight Trilogy, Supes 1 and 2 Batman Returns, ZSJL, Joker, The Batman. Then even the mid movies are better Wonder Woman Shazam. Look, I know when all is said and done. 50 years from now, either all Superhero movies will be seen as spectacle trash or alternatively, people will think this generation was crazy for not liking DC movies more.
