- Today, I'm finally going to give my reasons as to why Marvel Studios should have absolutely recast T'Challa before Wakanda Forever. My opinion on this has fluctuated over the past 2 years, but I have come to a pretty confident conclusion. Come hear me out! #recasttchalla #wakandaforever #tchalla #chadwickboseman

"The number one way to kill a legend, is to stop telling their story..."
I ain’t seen you mf talk about recast the joker when Heath Ledger died smh so stfu
@@blakkadam260 is high on meth
@@blakkadam260 there was many jokers since the 19s before Heath Ledger was joker and fans knew that a new joker would come
While Tachala Black Panther only has been on screen since 2016 and his story hasn’t even started yet of course fans would want to recast him
Facts!
We all know damn well if Christian Bale had tragically died after TDK they would still have made TDKR. What, are we just gonna retire BATMAN in the middle of his trilogy?! Chadwick had one movie and a sequel greenlit and in the works, and now that he's gone we suddenly RETIRE the most popular iteration of the Black Panther in the middle of his story?! Come on!!! That's not just killing a legend, that's bad business!
THE first Black superhero & THE most popular Black Superhero of all time....Then LIE and try to say its about the mantle when its NOT, thats a secondary factor that was NEVER the leading narrative in the comics, it was about T'Challa even when T'Challa was temporarily not Black Panther at times.
That's because he was a poor man's Bruce wayne. He was only good in the cowl and cape. 🙄
@@kingofhearts1072 He passed the mantle to the second black superhero. Shuri is the new black panther. Why d yo have against her? Not black enough? 👀
Agreed. No actor, or actress is more important, and/or above the character they played.
He needs to be recast.
T Challa was an important character
IS an important character.
They recast Christopher Reeves, they recast the Joker, there’s a million Spider-Man’s … this is some BS!
Recasting is not the same as rebooting. 🙄
Christopher Reeves was in a wheelchair by the time they rebooted, having completed 4 whole movies in his interpretation of Supes'.
There's no way you could have gotten Brandon Routh to play the dark , brooding Bizarre Supes that haunted the Snyder verse.
This is not a reboot. This is a continuation, same universe, same co-stars etc.
T'Challa will get a reboot at an appropriate time
@@politereminder6284superman returns was not a reboot from Christopher reeves superman the reboot was man of steel
@@nasbofficial7796 Ummm... Is that not implied in my comment?🤔
I totally agree with this. T'Challa should be recasted. Hell even Chadwick's family would've been fine with it. And if they don't want recast the main universe Black Panther, maybe having a T'Challa from another universe won't so bad.
I’m elands forever t’challa is dead so yeah they have to do it in another universe
@@Rockgem12 No they don't need a universe T'challa, recast the king from the same universe with a new actor. Period.
Multiverse seems like a toybox.
Yesss speak this truth! I've been saying this since Chadwick Boseman died. It's like damn! Why would you guys do that to him! It's so selfish of Marvel and how much they didn't care about T'Challa himself. And since they don't care about him I don't care about Wakanda Forever.
Ryan Coogler wanted to kill tchalla to “honor” his friend but that’s the complete opposite. BP2 should have been delayed tbh but marvel was desperate to make a movie so having it taken place during the 5 years Thanos snap away all life would’ve been a great way to say good bye to Chadwick as Tchalla but not kill Tchalla all together post Endgame and recast Tchalla in a future movie like fantastic 4(which is also the comic when he made his debut in comics, Reed and Tchalla are like brothers). Also Black Panther 2 originally was going to be about Tchalla post the blip and how he missed 5 years so my idea of the movie taking place in the 5 years half of Wakanda was gone would’ve been perfect to set up Black Panther 3 since the movie was already written. Also they could give Chadwick credits for writing the movie with Coogler. That is how you tribute the actor and still honor the character
Marvel pretending like it's about respect while saving themselves Chad's paycheck is the true evil
It just feels like it’s not fair… we got this black superhero in a black, Afrocentric, Afrofuturistic film on a huge platform… and now the character is just dead. The character should not be tied to the actor because the character existed before. There were more storylines to tell.
Rip to Chadwick. I was a huge fan and I’m grateful he was cast as the first Black Panther. But I just hoped that the character would go on to continue inspiring us.
They literally introduced his son as T’challa, second of his name, new heir to the throne & set up to take over the mantle in the future. Idk how that’s not a more respectful way to honor his version of T’challa than having a new guy try & emulate Chadwick
I watch black panther 2 the other day and I agree don't recast him just add someone new to like his son
He was succeeded by a black superhero. Movie is still afro futuristic. I say it's a win.
I had this idea. What if they can still choose not to recast T'Challa, but why not have Black Panther appear in the movie in full costume? Let Chadwick's stunt double be in the movie as Black Panther and if they need to take his mask off, let them show the back of his head.
What about when he needs to talk? Do you mean in a flashback?
@@Dylasophical Oh right. Well couldn't they find someone who sounds a lot like Chadwick Boseman to voice Black Panther.
Yes to a recast. Yes to a delay. Yes to reshoots.
They are literally done with filming and it’s coming out in one month. They aren’t going to refilm the entire movie with a new script and everything. Marvel chose to not recast because they thought he did a fantastic job as Black Panther and nobody could do better. If they were to recast there would still be thousands of people disagreeing and getting upset like you guys so either way just respect their decision.
@@fluxywuxy not reshoot the whole movie. But Marvel could make alterations so that T'Challa died in the blip and this movie happens in between IW and Endgame.
Keep him alive. Yes this was amazing. Keep him alive. You took a new angle on it that I haven't heard when you mentioned the pity party. Boseman kept his health private and didn't want that type of attention. Keep him alive.
Thanks for inspiring the video, buddy ;)
As a African American male I feel like there were many black actor that could take n live up to the role, I feel like secret wars want be the same without tachala

As a blck male Yeah I agree but the role is to iconic like Harrison Ford as Indiana jones
This was a video that warmed my heart. Thanks for helping us represent. We’ve been saying this for YEARS. Again, Thank you. ✌🏾
No problem man. I actually wanted him to stay dead until I was convinced otherwise a few months ago. The arguments for recasting made way more sense to me.
@@Dylasophical Glad to hear that, sir!

This movie will be a memorial. THEN, after this they should recast him as a T'Challa from another universe
No universal T'challa just recast the current universe. We already mourned the actor, this a cash grab using using a deadman's image in EVERY trailer.
Tchalla variant in secret wars would be cool. He can than Marry Storm.

@@Dylasophical Thank you and @Chillmonger
Love it. They should definitely have #RecastTChalla
Chadwick Boseman Rest In Peace. He was a great actor. He did a great job as T’Challa in Civil War and Black Panther ( although Micheal B Jordan outshined his performance with less screen time in that movie.) the other appearances (What if notwithstanding) were cameos at best. Let’s stop acting like NO OTHER Actor can play T’Challa. I understand not Recasting for Wakanda Forever, from the director’s, the Co stars’ and even the audience’s perspective ( it’s too close in proximity to the Boseman’s passing. ) but to say it’s a lose lose with any actor replacing Boseman is beyond a stretch, you can’t say he was the definitive T’challa when there’s been no other portrayal of the character by literally any other actor. Toby was great as Peter Parker/Spidey, Andrew was a different perspective on the character and Tom Holland was more Comic accurate than both of his predecessors ( even though the movies weren’t ) Marc Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner was initially not better than Edward Norton’s version yet it grew to be. Stop the non-sense of forever tying T’Challa to One actor, it’s bull. And it gets even more insulting when you push a narrative of T’challa possibly having a kid with Nakia out of wedlock…replacing a fictional character that is important Black children with a real stereotype.
What is more disgusting part is how Kevin Feige exploit Chad's death to promote the movie.
Was like "Please , give me a billion dolar box office to honor chad legacy :("
Kevin Faige has made no decision on this movei Ryan Googler did he doesn't want a Recast he and the cast will probably leave if they Recast
What is more disgusting is how Ryan Coogler exploit Chad’s death to promote the movie. Was like “Please , give me a billion dolar box office to honor chad legacy :(“
@@EmperorDxD Ryan had a script about Tchalla that included his romance and marrying the mutant Storm. Feige 86ed it. Coogler is only the director. The producer BP and director of Marvel told them to take this morbid direction. Feige tries to hide behind Nate Moore as a scapegoat. But it is all Fiege pulling all strings esp on a movie of this magnitude. And you best believe he gets his orders from the Execs of Disney. Coogler has no juice.
Thats fact 💯
@@malachithegreat3889 no he not runs Googler had a script storm was in it and when Chadwick died he changed it stop making up your own sh-it he literally talked about this just a week ago stop smoking crack
Okay, we agree again! No need to persuade me to your cause lol. I've felt this way since he passed, but you added so many great points that I never would've thought of. I think Chadwick's brother's statement, coupled with the minutes-long meeting to decide the fate of T'Challa's future says everything; the assembly line must not be slowed down.
My opinion goes further, possibly into disrespectful territory but once Marvel announced they'd be moving on without T'Challa, I've felt that Chadwick's secrecy was selfish. Yes, it's selfish for me to call him selfish lol, but as a fan I don't think he should've taken the role knowing he was in his way out. I don't know the timeline exactly, so I could be way off with all of that but IF he knew before taking the role, this could've been avoided.
The thing is we all understand that Marvel and directors wanna respect Chadwick but deep inside Ik for a fact even his brother has stated that he wanted the character Tchalla wanted to live on and it really bothers me that we won’t get to see this character there was just so much more to this character I wanted to be explored, but they made their decision it is what it is unfortunately we won’t see T’challa ever again they honestly should’ve really thought about this carefully it’s like with Carrie Fisher you thought they were gonna kill her off in the last Jedi due to her unexpected death but no they wanted to respect her character that meant a lot to her and they made sure to have a good end at least making it to Rise of Skywalker
At the very least they should keep the character alive off screen and not kill him off indefinitely. Chadwick wouldn't want the character to die
everybody gets replaced in the movies. It’s sad but the characters live on. That’s just how it is
people act like he owns black panther. thieir will be black panthers after him no matter what.
Okay actually did not know this was happening. I knew about the trailer but I had no idea that they were actually killing off the character. I do agree they should have recast the character. I mean reccasting a character where the actor died is something that happens all the time.
Okay not all the time but it happens more often than we realize. Prime example, Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films. I'm pretty sure everybody loves the actor for his character in the first two films and it was heartbreaking that he died but people were perfectly accepting of the actor who took over for the rest of the movies even the very first time he appeared in the third movie.
With Harry Potter, they had no choice, as they were closely adapting the books, whereas the MCU is an original universe with majorly original storylines and not an adaptation of Earth-616's history.
Main Characters Like T'challa Should Not Get Disappear/Killed Off With Actors
I want to see Tchalla and Storm get married, Marvel needs to recast Tchalla in the future. No disrespect but the character of Tchalla is bigger than Chadwick, that’s why he was filming the movies while he was sick because he knew how important Tchalla is to black boys and girls. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created Tchalla for black people. It’s black representation at its finest. Breaking stereotypes and false narratives. There’s so much of Tchalla story that needs to be told and it’s not right that they are killing the first Black main hero in comics/MCU
I think they should’ve recasted him. You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth with most of those stories I really wish we could’ve seen with Chadwick and even if we got someone else, it still would’ve been really cool to see and they can try all that shit with Shuri but it just wouldn’t be the same. RIP Chadwick😢
T’challa and namor’s rivalry is one of the best parts of the lead up to secret wars. Not having that will inadvertently hurt namor’s character too. I understand using this movie as a platform for the cast and crew to mourn their friend but for the love of god marvel please multiverse him in or something.
Exactly
Ohhhh yeah dude. Namor's idelogy vs T'Challa's ideology would have been amazing to see come to life.
I don't see why we, as comic book fans, don't get behind recasting more roles in general.
We're used to seeing these characters drawn by different artists, and written by different writers. To me, a solid recasting( no woke, message riding bullshit ) is like seeing a new artist/writer-team take over a series. The character changes in little ways but it's the same CHARACTER, just like you said.
Shuri is crap. Side character... fine. Lead character...NO. I just see her and think...
" *tee-hee*...sneakahs..." Ugh.
Namor as a Aztec... Meh! Let Shuri fight him. No T'challa- Boo!
We have a multiverse of meh-ness, let's use it to get a new BP casting, retcon this pile as 'alternate universe' and move the F on...with the Black Panther starring in the Black Panther. So not caring about this film anymore. Thank God for Marvel Knights back issues of BP.
the comics say different. have a seat
@@brothercinnamon2479 you must not really read comics then talkin bout take a seat…T’Challa is still alive in the comics even NOW and he and Shuri have held the mantle of BP at the same time
@@brothercinnamon2479 Kirby, Texiera, Stelfreeze, Romita Jr., Colan, and more ACTUALLY counter your little quip. The comics only cement my point.
There's a seat for you in the corner, right next to the dunce cap.
Marvel only cared about deadlines and rushing through content. They lost a year because of the pandemic and they’re trying to play catch up. T’Challa was a great character but a great role model for young black men and kids. But also a character that stood along side the greatest characters in that universe. Especially when Marvel is doing random race swaps of their characters lately that there’s almost no original black characters left, only race swaps of characters and to me that kinda feels like sloppy seconds. Me as a Hispanic man am more excited to see Xolo Mariduena as Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle get a movie than Tenoch Huerta as Namor. Just recently when Yayah Abdul Manteen the III got the part of Wonder Man when there’s other black characters he could’ve played like Blue Marvel. This isn’t diversity, it’s just corporate decisions.
Exactly, I'm like why are they WASTING this actor as well Yayah Abdul Mateen, there are MANY Black characters he could've played. There was no need to race swap him.
I've actually been thinking they should BECAUSE I've seen Chillmonger's videos. Black Panther is Marvel's premier black character.
T'challa as black panther is at the top of my list of superheroes, right next to superman. RIP Chadwick Boseman. He brought the T'challa character to life. But the T'challa character is still alive. So there definitely should be another T'challa black panther. One actor that I think should be at the top of the list is Trevante Rhodes. He has the look and he's the right age. I'd say test him out in one of the avengers movies. See how well he does. If he does great. Sign him on for T'challa in Black Panther 3👍🏼
This is kind of one of the many problems of the MCU they have serious attachment issues yes it’s hard losing your perfect casting for a specific character but don’t let that destroy your plans for your universe yes it’s going to be difficult recasting but if you had amazing plans for the character of Black Panther recasting would’ve been the better choice and you could still respect the actor
I would give up the MCU's T'Challa if it meant that we wouldn't get an inferior performance to that of Chadwick's.
if I'm not mistaken I heard his brother said that Chadwick would have been happy if he was recast.
Chadwick didn't know how big T'challa was even to the point if tears.
Yes Chadwick’s brother Derrick has been very vocal about how Chadwick would’ve supported a recast of T’Challa
Yeah, man, everyone who was happy with no recast, I can bet you don't read comics. Because they have no clue how important T'Challa is. They got way too attached to one portrayal, and now we're here.
And since Marvel loves brand synergy, and will shove anything that's in the movies into the comics, regardless if it's good or not, or if it messes with continuity, expect to see T'Challa take a backseat for a while in the comics, aswell.
I know a handful of people who do read comics and are okay with him dying, but I know what you mean. He's an A-list Marvel character that deserved more than 4 live action appearances.
I Thank you, So very much that you've come to agree that the MCU should recast! And even though I've had pointless heated arguments with perfect strangers on FB who are against recasting, every reason you point out why it's important that the character lives on has been my reasoning as well. I truly pray the MCU comes around.
Great video. All in on #recasttchalla and #savetchalla too. So many stories will be lost without TChalla in the MCU. And there's a bunch actors that would love to play TChalla.
1:44 I don't understand it either, but it's probably because I actually did grow up with black media being shown to me.
After seen Wakanda Forever and already 2 years pass from that film been release....I CAN SAY.........YES THEY SHOULD HAVE RECAST THAT ROLE.....but now I also can say............maybe was the best they also didn't.......the MCU now is such a colossal failure of his former self that I would dread seen a bad version of this character.........also it cringe me the way people (yes even in this VIDEO) talks about how Black Panther invented it seems LEAD BLACK ACTORS IN HOLLYWOOD....how do you quoted here....that you can't imagine your skin color not been represented on the big screen but somehow Chad FIXED that for an entire culture?.....oh wait, MORGAN FREEMAN....DENZEL WASHINGTON, EDDIE MURPHY....SAMUEL L. JACKSON, WINNIE HUSTON, WHOOPI GOLDBERG.......oh no you mean in the MCU right?....TERRANCE HOWARD, DON CHEADLE.....and again SAM JACKSON, IRIS ELBA, ZOE SALDAÑA, I can go on, but I have to laugh when people wanted to idolized a film like such a cultural achievement when....actually wasn't even the FIRST on doing any of that, yes you can say did was the first almost full African American film that CROSS the 1 billion dollar, that I can give it, but besides that, is a joke every other thing the MEDIA wants to award that first Black Panther film all this praise, and forgot or spit on the face of so many black actors that pay the way to this to HAPPEN....oh no you mean first black lead on a MARVEL FILM ohhh sorry my ba.......WESLEY SNIPES....Jesus I can't even give you that one for free. Moving on.....on the actual topic, it was actually more disrespectful to me see how little now the legacy of Chad and T'Challa matter to this money grabbing studio, T'Challa as a character was more important to be let alive and continue his legacy than anything else, and no was never a disrespect to recast the role, even if the FAMILY speak, sorry THEY NOT OWN THE CHARACTER and we know they have no issue with this, but only Disney have that issue.....and how they handle the situation....well just as they doing now, changed a important male character is a replacement boring unimportant female lead......we only have Black Panther on just 4 films, 2 in which he was just a CAMEO character doing virtually nothing important.....why the heck they not allow the character to become as important as CAPTAIN AMERICA, IRON MAN, THOR, SUPERMAN, SPIDERMAN, BATMAN etc, this is beyond Marvel or DC, beyond Chad Boseman, is about an important character for many, not even because the race that he represent, just for the character, Black Panther deserve to be in that pantheon of heroes and now.....he never will, just because Marve decide was the moral thing to do, oh but put his face of ALL MARKETING for the sequel was also the MORAL THING TO DO RIGHT? at the end of the day.....this is the HOLLYWOOD BUSINESS, just like any business....ON WITH THE SHOW, nobody is bigger than this and the reality is that sadly include Chad Boseman and T'challa......if Disney wanted to honor the man, they should have his character LIVE ON not kill his legacy along with HIM.
RECAST TCHALLA!
While I do think that Shuri looks cool as black panther (comics and live action), t'challa has tons of stories that'll just feel weird for her to takeover imo.
The weird thing is even in the multiverse where you can have a variant of him they still wont show a variant of T'challa
Yeah this movie has become the antithesis of the inspirational mood and hopeful energy of the first BP movie. And I know that's intentional. We're not stupid! This new BP2 movie is not what I want or desire in a Marvel movie about a Fictional Futuristic African Utopia superpower country with a superhero King as its protector. If I want grief and pain of reality to be presented to me through cinema art, I can go see Till or better yet Fruitvale Station. This is not escapism. This is manipulation.
I don't appreciate Disney subconsciously trauma-mongering our people by the trifle mixing and interweaving of the real life and legacy of an inspirational Black man, and his real tragedy woven subcousciously into and reduced to just a meager plotpoint for a fantasy, comic book Hero's fictional story (esp since it isnt even source material based). It feels contrived, manipulative and conniving. To me personally, it feels soo wrong. It also feels all too convenient for them to exploit and make an excuse again to try to extinguish or neuter the powerful prominent image of black males as competent providers, protectors, heroes, fathers, sons, and leaders in both cases.
I am calling Disney out on this same bigoted tactics made blatantly famous in films of the 1920s -1980s now masked behind a clothe of Black Woman empowerment as if they cant be achieved together in harmony with the quest for Black Men empowerment; and as if somehow both were not properly presented in the first BP film perfectly. (Just mentally recall the film). The overall narrative of this sequel film, by its approach alone, breeds division within our community.
(Pause and just think about that)
Marvel now loves to alienate men and women causing a battle of the genders by pushing uneven agendas. DISNEY loves to present Black men as disposable, or less than human, presented as baffoons, crooks, illegitimate baby daddies or nerds in glasses or less masculine (esp when compared to their white counterpart male costars). They do this in all their shows and other movies, even currently.
For this to be even be a discussion for this movie along with their audacity to kill off King Tchalla after only 1 feature film, its a HARD PASS for this movie. It will not get my dollar, my son's dollar, my daughter's dollar or my wife's dollar. And thats 💯
Look bro....Disney is owned by the folks Ye was talking about, SOME of them have an agenda. However, not ALL of them are like that because he was created by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby who were a part of "that" community, but Jack Kirby & Stan Lee UNDERSTOOD the importance of Black Panther.
Derek Boseman said it right, Hollywood just doesn't like the narrative of a Back King, they'd rather feminize the narrative.
This movie deals with a loss of t'challa and how it affects wakanda and for the next movie either through reincarnation/rebirth of sorts or from another universe he comes back. And as we have recasted this other universe or comeback from another plain would help explain why he looks different
They should've recasted using one of these Disney shows or a one hour piece like Werewolf by night. I agree maybe for this movie they didn't have to recast. but to eliminate this big of a character who is super important to the next phase you just announced, how do you justify imprinting an actors real life tragedy onto a SUPERHERO. It's weird everyone was so grief struck yet signed right on to go into production on this film without him. And everyone is ok With killing their friends work that he left for the world. And a slight correction. His other brother Derrick has also done interviews expressing how Chad would want Tchalla recasted. We dont want Variant great value Tchalla, we dont want the bastard son of Tchalla.
The company Disney has the final say what they do with the character! Not us, his family or the cast and crew! T’Challa is a character which The Disney company owns. So the reason the character isn’t being continued is because they don’t want it to continue. Period.
It’s still definitely disappointing from a fan’s perspective to know that the story they set up for you will never be concluded. I can’t speak for everyone else but I won’t be supporting any Black Panther projects without Black Panther as that is within my power
When Paul Walker died, they didn't kill Brian.
Because they still had a portion of film before he passed away and had the help of his siblings stand in for scenes via face cgi due to their resemblance. Chadwick passed away before filming even began so it wouldn't be possible to that with him anyway
@@tomcruz8615 But they could've killed off the character in Fast 8 but didn't. Even in F9 Brian is still alive.
@@arzn253 if they didn't film scenes for F9 featuring Paul Walker then I can understand them killing him off in F8 but they did film SOME scenes, for Chadwick NONE was filmed and people need to except that. Expecially for the how cast and crew felt at the time of filming
@@tomcruz8615 I understand for Fast 7, but I really feel they should've killed him off for Fast 8 out of respect for the actor. Besides, Brian O'Connor was just some character made up back in 2001. T'Challa was created in 1966 and been around for nearly 6 decades. Not recasting him and then killing him off in the MCU simply because an actor who played him passed away is the stupidest decision MCU has ever made.
@@arzn253 no it hasn't. Recasting straight away after the main star has died would be one of the dumbest decisions the MCU can do. It would do terrible with the audience and the movie cast wouldn't exactly feel comfortable to put in a random black actor as t'challa after his appearance in endgame (too big of a shoe to fill expecially with his connection to the original cast) it'd be like if Robert Downy Jr died before Iron Man 3 was filmed and then we just have some random white actor playing him in Iron Man 3. It wouldn't work for a huge main character like that and you know it. Plus his son will be taking the mantel in his namesake as he grows up in the MCU to continue his story anyway (which is pretty clever on Marvels part tbh) you may have to wait a few more years but who cares. Their are plenty of other mantels in the comics they can base with different multiversus anyway
They already did a soft recast in Wakanda Forever by having his son be named T’Challa. My guess is that they’re not gonna make another Black Panther movie until the kid’s a teenager and he takes on the role from Shuri. Or they do a time skip and have T’Challa Jr. as an adult taking on the mantle
If Disney wants BP3 to be something remotely resembling a success, then recasting T’Challa, actual T’Challa and not his b*st@rd son, is a must.
BP3 won’t have the death Chadwick Boseman for Disney to milk off, nor will it have the anticipation of millions curious to see how they deal with the replacement of a character fans have been longing to see for over 50 years.
Like it or not, with Shuri as the main focal point moving forward, this franchise will be lucky if it reaches the £500m mark again.
#RecastTchalla
#KeepHimAlive
Such a shame cuz Michael b Jordan would be a perfect T’chala. But they already used him
How about this articles as early as Jan 2020, way before he passed, say Chad was informed by Feige the producer and already knew he was being phased out and replaced by Shuri and he was not happy at all. And neither was Coogler. (Chad was doing like Mehersala Ali is now about Blade's direction). Boseman complained subtly to reporters. You can look it up (Chadwick Boseman unhappy with BP sequel). He was even considering walking because of this direction. I had the honor of reaching Chadwick briefly online and they eluded they were quietly preparing a script about Tchalla meeting Storm and a character story on him as king. Possibly show them getting married. Doom and Namor were in it. But you get the classic rivalry with Tchalla and Namor, the battle of two kings. But Feige cancelled that for his female woke movement. Phasing out Tchalla, the black male king, and replacing him with women was always the plan by Kevin Feige...Not honoring Chad. His death albeit unfortunate did not cause Marvel or Disney's course of action in this direction. Now they just gonna exploit his death to counter the Recast TChalla movement. This is not the movie Chad wanted. So its a Hard Pass for me. It wont get my dollar.
But to be fair, I'm not sure if they were going to give the mantle to Shuri THIS quickly if he didn't die. Maye some day, but after like 7 appearances.
@@Dylasophical No it was on record the sequel was always this movie we have, Feige 86ed Coogler and Boseman's script ideas TCHALLA WAS BEING PHASED OUT.
I'm actually getting worried about the future mcu
I've been feeling that way for a while now........Phase 5 needs to deliver BIG.
Yes you took the words right out of my mouth
Great video! Great job on doing your research. I grew up with Batman being my favorite comic book character as well on the Tim Burton Films, and The Animated series. Michael Keaton will always my favorite Batman, but The Dark Knight is my favorite comic book film. I say #Recasttchalla, keeping his legacy alive is the right way to honor Chadwick.
Thanks man! Glad you liked it.

They killed the character off 3 times its time to let the character live on
I agree 100%. I’ve been saying the same.
I would’ve loved to see John David Washington casted as T’Challa.
Well actually there is no understanding for anyone at marvel or any actor on the project to not recast because of grief because if thats the case dont do the movie dont sign your muti million dollar contract push everything back 4 to 5 years! I cant get with that becuase litterally this movie was made last year so this cast is telling me it was worse then but we made the movie anyway after his own family wanted the movie recast.... hmmmm thats off...
This is the hashtag Be Real With D-Real was looking for. #KeepT'challaAlive
Separate ones: #RecastT'Challa #RecastT'ChallaOrElse
I absolutely agree. T'Challa needs to be recast. Kevin Feige hinted that Marvel were changing their minds too. Even Winston Duke, Y'Ian Noel and Maurice Kirya want T'Challa to be recast. It seems like the movement worked.
#RecastTChalla
#SaveTChalla
SO VERY WELL STATED. #RecastTchalla
RDJ as Black Panther!
nah, Terrence Howard should play him. It's a great redemption
Could of made Disney Xmas special first and recast for them sequels, I would be happy with that and have his family and kevin announce them recast and tribute too chadwick legacy
Disney is going “black girl magic” and lesbian love with WF
What's wrong with LGBT relationships?
Actually it was E-Man who spearheaded the #RecastTChella movement.
Yeah I know. But I personally know Chillmonger, lol.
@Cole Turner yeah but E-Man was the one that also bought it to the mainstream.
@@edwardstewart6372 Eman himself said this isn't an "ownership" thing. You don't have to downplay other people's contributions by constantly stating who started it
@@victory7763 no one's down playing anything I'm just pointed out that he was the one started it and I never say E_Man was trying to be the owner anything.
Thank you for this video man. So very much. New sub.
Hell yeah, no problem!
Agreed
i'm boycott black panther wakanda forever, i hate kevin feige
This guy just read my mind
.. Also, when you made this video, you said it had been over 2yrs.
1, now it's been 8 years, and all of what you said in your video in addition to all of what I said in my previous comment has only gotten worse in the time since your video.
2, Every syllable of why all of this is true has been glaringly obvious before and since he passed away. Meaning it was true the day that we learned of his passing and the next, and despite that, we held our tongues the day of and for a long time afterward.
That was us respecting others and respecting the loss that we all feel though obviouslysome feel his loss more than others.
It's not the day of anymore. It'sts not even the next day or yrs later anymore.
Now it's 8yrs after and counting, plus 1 failed attempt to ignore us and sweep everything that Black Panther, the ruling King of the most advanced, prosperous, and powerful nation on Earth, and son of King T'Chaka, the genius King Tchalla under the rug and forget about him and take him away from us in an obvious slap in the face to everyone you sees themselves in the character.
There is no if ands or maybes about this one.
#recasttchalla
Back in 2018 I was so hyped to see the next installment but now I will not allow myself to watch this movie and give Disney my money for such a rushed, hypocritical and stupid decision. My wallet will speak and I hope enough people boycott the movie as well to teach them a lesson
I think they'll do a multiverse story in black panther 3 where shuri goes into a different universe and meets another tachalla ???
Idk if you saw the movie yet or not, but there already is another T’challa, the whole recasting discussion is moot now
@@Assassin.9958 no haven't seen the film, what do they do with tchalla then ? I don't mind it being spoiled !
@@ewanhub6080 Here’s the rundown with context. It begins with T’challa off screen, they’re trying to save him from an unknown disease but fail. Later in the film, we get hints where the Queen is about to share something no one knew about T’challa, but gets interrupted by Namor. Nakia, T’challa’s love, has been living away in Haiti, the Queen visits & asks for her help, while there she greets some child. By the end, the Queen had been killed in battle & Shuri went to Haiti to be with Nakia to finally burn T’challa’s ashes & robe. While there, Nakia walks up to Shuri with that same kid the Queen greeted, she introduces him as “Toussant” the son of T’challa, the kid tells Shuri his name in Wakandan is actually T’challa. So, we now have T’challa, second of his name, heir to the throne, & set up to take the mantle in the future. We’re getting another T’challa that both carries on the legacy Chadwick built while leaving his version untouched
@@Assassin.9958 I guess that sounds ok ! Would prefer it if they just recasted him though? It means will have to wait until he's all grown up! Thanks for taking the time to write that !😎
@@ewanhub6080 not at all tbh, it would be awkward for some new guy to come in & try to emulate what Chadwick built, especially for everyone who worked with him, it would lever live up to him. When you think about it, this is much more respectful. Now Chadwick’s T’challa can stand on its own, Coogler & the cast got the closure they needed for their friend, makes sense in universe, we can ease into seeing a new T’challa instead of quickly moving on. A few time skips can age him up, he’s had many stories with the Fantastic Four & X men, who have yet to be introduced, so they’ve also extended the longevity of the T’challa character as well. And another interesting thing was they were able to re create the heart shaped herb from T’challa’s DNA, so now technically every future Black Panther will have a part of T’challa in them
Thank You!
Do you think black suited spiderman will be in worle war hulk if they do that?
I don't know why he would be, lol. If anything, it MIGHT happen in Secret Wars like in the comics.
@@Dylasophical he was in a world war hulk comic
They should have recasted, I won’t see the movie.
I feel the same I’m not watching it either.
Well good news t challa will be recasted . You should watch the movie to get a clue
That's foolishness. 🙄
@@politereminder6284 Yup I still ain't watching it, to see them just push T'challa to the side. Now that is disrespectful, and they are recasting Ross too. Disney just this once could have put aside the money and greed and then said, we are postponing the movie, and in time we will make it with a new actor to continue the story of T'challa. I just think they made this decision on emotion and not thinking it out rationally. Why take him out of the biggest form of Media?
T'challa could have been such a big figure in the coming movies. Now Shuri is legit only going to be considered a replacement, which she is. She'll unfortunately never hit the same heights as T'challa would have been, even if the story writes it out well.
But with that said it's okay that you enjoyed the movie. I hope you did.
@@veeay-k8398 Why though? Why don't you want to watch Tchalla's replacement? What is disrespectful about a character dying in the story?🤷♀️🤔
I’ll be honest. I don’t think the films should be concerned with recasting. Ot boxes you in to what you can do and the stories you can tell if you can lose a character at any second, for whatever reason.
As we’ve seen recently, it slso means you have to shift all of your plans would spent an entire phase and several movies building towards.
Is it really any surprise MCU started struggling when the big names wanted out abd you couldn’t just recast?
6:27 What does Sexuality have to do with Anything other than the *Natural* order of things?
Thank you for saying everything I’ve been feeling regarding this emotional and irrational decision made by Marvel. I’m not gonna support this movie because I can’t support killing off a character for no reason to reflect a real life person losing their life. Thanks man
#RecastTchalla
First off they need a recast him understandable this man had passed he did not own the rights of the Black Panther role he did not the real person that owned it the rights is Marvel through Stan Lee that have passed on how dare anyone to say that his family have the right to say to not to recast that role his family don't own the rights to that role nor the comic book when it was first published please make some sense why you saying that that's being disrespectful to Stan Lee
Agreed. I'm sick and tired of people acting Chadwick came before Tchalla. Most of these clowns barely even know about Tchallas rich history. They ruined the story by not telling it. This is a slap in the face of Stan Lee and all the kids from the 60s who grew up with Tchalla
@@lionface1364 just like how Kevin feige said he didn't want to replace the actor it was wrong, I don't like like how Kevin Fiege being over the Marvel movies and he is showing true proof that he never picked up the comic books to know the superheroes and who are all Avengers members to be in the movies, nor he knows the storyline of the Avengers,
@@wandawhite1592 facts, Kevin is disappointing me also. The MCu is looking worst with every new film.
At least they should have the movie take place during the Blip and brought him back.

Here is my only issue. Bare with me. You came to the correct conclusion, and this is not nitpicking but still.
You acknowledged that you don't know what it's like not to see your skin color represented. Let's start there.
You don't?
Well, we do. Now, I'll come back to that part.
You also brought up a statement made by Chadwick Boseman's family member.
In that comment, the family is talking about the character being bigger than Chadwick and how.
His statement is true.
Very true.
Now, here is the thing, it's true whether the actor that brought it to your attention lives or not.
It's true whether yall like it or not.
It's true whether you acknowledge it or not.
It is also necessary.
It would be helpful and respectful,
if you all would realize that and act like it, too. It's telling when people don't.
The words inhumane and disrespectful come to mind since being humane and respectful about such things is only any kind of problem when that humane treatment or respect is due to .. us.
It's not about Chadwick.
It's about continuing the character that he himself so passionately invested himself into for
the
EXACT
REASONS
THAT
HE
HIMSELF
STATED WERE
HIS MOTIVES
for selecting and choosing to play the character in the 1st place.
Idk why you guys are all acting like those truths all died with Chadwick Boseman.
Idk, why, but they did not.
I agree with each and every syllable of Chadwick's brother's words.
Now, let's begin.
Those people who are represented by BP actually exist.
You all know that, right?
OK, now I'm done with prerequisite stuff.
We, especially those who insist they #RecastTChalla for the representation of it, are likely to be the people that the character speaks to, and we are the people who see ourselves in the character.
Or is that the reason for the desire to find a convenient, profitable way to eliminate the character? Hm?
Anyway.
So, can you tell me why people like you and so many others with opinions think that those of us who the character is made for would need everyone else's permission, approval or consent to push for the character to continue unless we wish to be blamed or recieve a backlash, as we are receiving?
Anyway.
So, it's the morally right thing to do to let the character and all it represents die too .. because you're sad and grieving? Really?
Really?
That doesn't even sound like a question.
It sounds like a statement figuratively speaking and otherwise.
So, it should be up Mr Boseman's family if the rest of us get to see the character continue and it's up to that 1 family if all of the ways that we see ourselves in the character and everything that we want from the character SHOULD all be DEPENDENT on 1 family's choice?
Really?
Why again?
Because everyone else said so? Really?
Mr. Boseman was so powerful and charismatic that it wouldn't FEEL RIGHT TO YOU to see him recast, right?
And it's you .. and your preferences that are to be the determining factor, right?
Why?
(Don't answer that.)
Why is everyone
BUT
THE TARGET AUDIENCE DEMOGRAPHIC THAT THE CHARACTER REPRESENTS acting like they think they and they alone are exclusively in charge of deciding if OUR character continues?
The unrestrained entitlement and arrogance and privileged blindness is staggering!
Look at how long it to just to describe ONLY a significant portion of it.
Be clear,
Mr. Boseman
was
and
still
is
beloved
but MOST THINGS ABOUT HIM AND WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM
aside from
making and promoting
Black Panther material
IS
BESIDES THE POINT,
if not irrelevant, when it comes to
the BP character and the mass of Blk men and boys that the character represents!
His real-world value is its own separate thing in the real world, but it is besides the point when it comes to the character.
Like Katt Williams said, T'Challa did not die!
THE ACTOR DIED, THE CHARACTER is fine.
Act like you understand that. Please.
You guys kind of seem like you think that because it's us that would benefit and be respected and served by the behavior, that that means that you don't need to separate your own emotions from reality, and it's is beyond selfish, actually.
His family aside, it's about US.
Not yall.
It's
not
about what
you feel.
It's not about you.
It's about us.
Not you.
Not any of y'all.
So please correct yourself.
A better way for you to express that you are our ally is to remember that we are not to be ignored or forgotten and that we are not an abstract group.
We are humans. We are here, and we are necessary support for the franchise.
It is just as necessary to consider us as it is anyone else, if not more so.
Just like you would expect
YOUR CAPTAIN AMERICA to be continued,
EVEN IF THE ACTOR DIED AND EVERYONE ELSE WAS GRIEVING THAT ACTOR, OBVIOUSLY
we
wouldn't
want
our
1
major
dominant
positive
character
to end with the actor EVEN MORE THAN YOU WOULDN'T.
YOU ARE
NOT
FORCED TO PUT UP WITH
SCARCITY
in this area as you yourself already said, we are.
That means something.
Be more mindful.
You and everyone who sounds like you and everyone who thinks we are the ones being entitled or that we're whining or that we are the ones being disrespectful or that we are the ones who are treating anyone in a way that violates anything,
be
more
mindful.
Be much more mindful. Please.
You did come to the right conclusion.
Others not doing the same seems very possible.
It was a nice breakdown too, and I get that you thought you were explaining the thing that supposedly "everyone" else feels that is the important obstacle.
Still, you need to remember 1, it's not really everyone that you mean, and 2, the only group that you're leaving out is
ACTUALLY
THE
PRIMARY
GROUP
THAT
FEELS directly connected to the character in mass and is 1 of, if not THE main group that has been starved of such a thing.
Stop overlooking that.
Hurry up and stop overlooking that.
Ask Chillmonger to explain that part, too, if need be.
Jesus Christ stop posting entire essays on the TH-cam comments section. Nobody is gonna bother reading it. And if you feel disrespected, too bad. Because I don’t respect you. You’re not smart and you’re not profound or anything of that sort.
It was emotional move......not a rational an reasonable one. Too bad.
Recast tchalla
They should...but you know how that ish go
Yes they should recast t'challa That youtuber all talking about people being mad about can't be talking
I want to ask, Is it too late to recast T'challa?
probably not with the multiverse stuff going on but it just wouldnt feel the same
No.
No it’s not but if they don’t recast during secret wars I’m going to tweak out cause that means we won’t see another till a future reboot in like 15 years
It was the right move letting the current version of tchalla pass away, we’re in the MULTIverse saga so letting this version of tchalla pass away like the actor doesn’t mean we can’t get him in a different way, we don’t have to move on right away and taking some time in universe to pay respects is the right decision.
No not at all. He presents an issue that is now drifting them away from source material. Stan Lee would have not have had Tchalla just die, being his significance and purpose for creating the character.
if the multiverse has taught us anything its that 616 universe is by far the strongest. Wanda along killed the entire illuminati by herself. a variant Tchalla wouldn't be nearly as strong. it was the right move to not to recast for this movie, but not to kill that character all together. Killing a perfectly alive character to honor an actor is nuts.
@@jayowulf8464 I think you’re wrong about 616 being strongest for 2 reason the first being we only got them fighting 1-2 other multiverse fr that’s not enough to go by, and 2 the Illuminati was shown to be able to beat Thanos before he had the chance to snap, and they beat him with less ppl.
@@jayowulf8464 also you can say it’s nuts but it’s not unheard of, just TH-cam times characters were written off a show bc the actor died
Marvel should get Errol Spence Jr. as the new Black Panther.
Why? Is this a joke? Isn't he a boxer? 🤔
You think any old black man off the street can carry on the legacy of T'Challa? 👀
Jokes on you now.
Great video
Thank you!
Shri is black panther in one of the comics
And It sucked and it was temporary. T’Challa is to Black Panther what Bruce Wayne is to Batman
idk black panther 1 chadwick played tchalla so greatly like he was a big role model for me as a kid big strong noble black king and them not recasting felt like the respectable option after his passing because what it wouldve seemed like was him getting thrown away and his role being meaningless yk but now it'd be more logical too recast him instad of keeping a primarily female cast cause theres been many strong black female characters in real life and in fiction
I think that either way it would have been a lose lose situation. If they recast then it seems disrespectful to Chadwick. Not honouring his legacy and replacing his importance to the mcu and it’s achievements.
Where as now it’s disrespectful to the charecters of tchalla. So many stories that can’t be seen on screen that will never happen the same way as the comics.
I think my opinion will solidify once the movie comes out. It’s too late to change it now unless they pull a pyslock and preform a brain swap.
Right now I think they have done the right thing. I think having a mcu story that deals with the death of a loved one that both the audience and character’s loved will be really interesting and provide interesting stories in the future.
Chadwick Is tchalla. Robert Downey jr is iron man. Chris evans is captain America.
I would rather have tchallas story end along which Chadwicks
Edit: the big difference between the superman example and black panther is that when superman was recasted it was a different take on superman. Same thing with tobey, Andrew and Tom. Each Spider-Man may be Peter Parker but they portray the roles their own unique way. By recasting we would be getting a actor who has to act like chadwicks black panther rather than a new charecter (also if I’m wrong about superman being recasted then the point about the spidermen is still valid)
I've yet to see anyone give solid reasoning to this "disrespectful" word that gets bandied about so often with this discussion. Marvel coming up with a myriad of substitutions for a sequel that no longer has a lead character (the closest to a lead is now the antihero/antagonist), in a movie that could well have been postponed/rescheduled in light of the bereavement… but it wasn't… THAT seems comparatively more disrespectful from this seat, to just press on regardless. To put a dead man's face in the trailers, promotional material the purpose of which is to encourage people to dip into their wallets and buy movie tickets… I'd argue that THAT to monetise grief is highly disrespectful and classless. Injecting avoidable real life tragedy into fantasy fiction that already deals often in matters of magic, as well as both space and time travel (instead of the permanence of death) seems kinda disrespectful to the countless stories as yet untold involving a man that only just became King, and was to possibly sit with The Illuminati and even lead the Avengers. Taking a lead Black role off the board in a giant franchise like the MCU does a disservice to the viewers that like/want/need to see such representation. It does a disservice to the Black acting talent out there denied a life-changing opportunity to inhabit such a role, and to maybe inspire others from any/all walks of life thereafter.
I reject the assertion that any actor stepping into the role of T'Challa would ever need to act "like Chadwick", however… like, upon whose request? Certainly not the director, nor any supporting cast, not anyone at Marvel HQ. There is zero precedent for any such compulsion to replicate; mimicry is a terrible idea even before such a thing be done in front of people with a personal connection to the one supposedly being impersonated. The new actor could only be encouraged to take the character in a direction of their choosing (just as Chadwick did), because just as with other culturally significant characters through time - James Bond, Hulk, Superman, whoever - the new interpretation doesn't tarnish or degrade previous ones, but the character gets to live on, and audiences get to have their favourite from them all. Ultimately he didn't need to be recast immediately so as to be in BP2, but the decision to kill him in the MCU is just an unfathomably bad call.
I don’t feel like Don Cheadle’s Rhodey acts anything like Terrance Howard’s version. Mark Ruffalo brings a different flavor to Bruce than Edward Norton. I wouldn’t mind a new T’Challa giving a different vibe than Chadwick long as the character is well written. And they could easily just say we are going to push the movie back to mourn Chadwick (respect), then even ask the fans how they feel about recasting to test the waters (respect), recast him and let the cast and the new T’Challa along with Ryan Coogler express their commitment and caution in respecting Chadwick’s legacy on the promo tour. If they stress genuine respect over n over leading up to the movie. Even the people that were against it would see they took their time and approached this cautiously. It could’ve been done and it wasn’t rocket science either. Kevin Fiege pushed back the Guardians 3 movie years away from its initial place in phase 4 after the James Gunn controversy. Was the story affected? I’m not sure. But the same could’ve been done here. Push the movie back. Tweak the story if you have to. Take all the time you need. Let the cast grieve. Let the public grieve. Show tremendous amounts of respect to Chadwick when you do press. You could even have a montage of Chadwick in the beginning or end with a statement. Showing he’s not forgotten or pushed to the side. But the character lives on
