Fun fact: In 2007, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) awarded this episode the Genesis Award for Outstanding Children's Programming. The award recognized the episode's depiction of animal cruelty and how harmful it can be for many animals in real life who experience abuse in many industries or are abandoned in general.

I thoroughly enjoy your reactions and appreciate your post-episode discourse topics. I just happened to be listening to this at 2x today and realized I was hearing "Oh!" a lot, enough to make me chuckle each time after I noticed it (which was welcome given the legit sad episode). I hope this makes you chuckle too! 0:06 Also, I fully expected Lindsay to be more affected by this episode than Iroh's segment in The Tales of Ba Sing Se. No shade to Iroh, but we know Lindsay loves her animals. 0:52 😢
A small detail that I always appreciated was the guru asking for permission to attach his message to Appa's horn. It may not seem like much at first, but when you remember all the situations the big guy just went through that were beyond his control, it's nice to see him finally get the freedom to make his own choice for once, even if for something as simple as acting as a delivery boy. 😉
I totally agree. In my opinion guru Pathik is real MVP of this episode and he doesn't get enough credit. I love how he literally waited hours to approach Appa. And it wasn't just waiting, I mean he didn't move for hours laying on the floor :D Plus the little scene with horn You mentioned. It's not only that he asked Appa for permission. But he asked it in such gentle and polite way. He didn't see Appa as just animal, but as his equal.
The sand sailer they stole from the Hami Tribe, mentioned at 1:36 is the one Toph finds. Appa saving the gang without even being there with them anymore :(
Did they say in discord whats their current situation? they arent obliged to tell us everything thats happening to them or something like that but they are very far behind on some shows and uploaded like 6-7 videos in a month. I hope everything is okay. Just would loved to have an update on why you couldnt keep the rythm of uploads, dont wanna sound pretentious or bother you 2 i love your videos and im allways waiting for the next one to drop its a great part of my entertainment day by day and not seeing those HOTD and Oshi no ko with no information makes me a bit sad :( . Again hope you guys are well and looking forward for those reaction. (At least we keep geting one piece)
Are you guys still gonna react to onk, I know that the reception for the last onk video wasn't the best in the comments but I think you guys should still continue the series, while you guys did get some things objectively wrong the rest of the things were your own subjective opinion and I respect that, you guys are the only reaction channel I watch bcs you guys actually have some meaning to your commentary, it feels like every single video I get to look at things from a different pov or get more substance out of the shows, so don't get discouraged from the last onk video, you guys rock, keep it up
Usually your tendency to dramatize animal suffering really annoys me. Especially in one Piece, there are FAR more brutal things happening to the people than to the animals so much so that the comparison becomes hard to bear. But here honestly I'm totally okay with your reaction because Appa is a great friend and we actually see him beeing emotionally and phyically tortured
Every time I see this episode now I think about the first time I ever saw it. I watched the previous episode the night before and then closed my laptop. The next day, I opened my laptop, went to make a cup of tea, realized I didn't have milk and then quickly ran out to get some. When I came back, I heard growling and groans from my dorm room, pretty loud and I had no clue what it was. Well Netflix decided to autoplay the next episode. Can't imagine what my flatmates thought.

@@damyan108he’s in my top 4 favorite character which isn’t taken lightly with great characters like sokka Iroh ang katara

Appa is a true one
The Eastern Air Temple is where the Air Nomads would raise the Sky Bison until they were old enough to become a companion for someone.
Idk if you guys know this but long feng’s voice actor is Mr. Krabs lol

We need the oshi no ko reactions 🥹
I think I've never seen this episode, even on the first watch, because of hearing what it would be about. Poor Appa.
Anyone knows whats going on with Oshi no Ko reactions?
It seems like they are in a bad period as reactions in general have slowed down. They will probably do multiple uploads when they get past it
The Goat Guru makes his debut
guys idk if you forgot or something yall just stopped posting HOTD mid season 😅
I know this was the episode that would get her.😂
This episode is one of my favorite ones

You guys should do a reaction of the Kakegurui live action opening, it won’t disappoint I promise
Can someone remind me what awards this episode got
“He’s in Jaya” confirmed
Hey where is the big drop you guys talked about.
What happened to My Deer Friend Nokotan? I only see the opening and Ending reaction to it.
in the land of leabale
I keep forgetting about Leadale, it's a good show.

Dropping this episode without an immediate palate cleanser of the next episode is devious 😩
Why no one piece uploads
Where is one piece reaction
I’m sorry but did they delete all their one piece vids?!? I can’t find them anywhere 😢
Wrong channel
where’s house of the dragon? it’s been forever 😭
Azula is the coolest
Happy to see Carson with hair again.
One really nice detail is that the sand sailer that Appa attacked is the same one that Aang and the others used in the Desert episode.
Nah this episode broke my heart when it first came out and right now I was just shedding tears still throughout the episode
We want double uploads
