NOTE: The War Fury #1 was used in Horrific #3 (not Terrific 3...I misread the notes). Also, this was a best offer of $875 instead $1000)

Great video! I love the Superman and Action #29. Great covers, but really everything you talked about had a great cover. Good luck on the Kickstarter, Allan!

Manhunt 12 was thought to not exist . Overstreet had a question mark next to it. The rumour was it was Canadian, not edition, that cover doesn't appear on any American comic. It is SUPER RARE! When that 1.0 first appeared ppl thought it might be the only copy. Thus the huge price. Other copies have trickled out. I know the outfit that sold the 6.0 and he was very happy with the result. Especially sought after by Canadian collectors.

Manhunt is one of the best precode crime titles. If there had been a US edition of #12 (even if had been different from the Canadian edition), that Canadian Manhunt #12 would not attain such glory. But anyone who collects the Manhunt title has a gap in their collection that can only be filled by that Canadian edition. And the fact that it has a knockout cover that was not used on any US comic makes it even more compelling. Few can own it, not because it is expensive (although it is), but because it is rare. I imagine competition on this book is fierce.

Manhunt #12 Canadian has only 5 on census and 6.0 is top. There's a 3.5 on mycomicshop now but priced about 1k too high. Im not a fan of this cover or Canadian variants and im surprised that simply being rare is enough to drive the price up so high. I dont think its too desired since there are only 4 people on the mycomicshop want list. Most of these rare expensive pch books have about 25-100 people on the wantlist. I think mycomicshop is big enough that the wantlist numbers can be used to compare desireability of 2 comics.

I prefer Web of Evil #5 to Strange Suspense Stories #15 and I think the guy is being electrocuted since his fingers are curled like that.

On the Sub-Mariner #26, the rusted staples and the partial cover detachment at one staple probably had something to do with it going lower... I guess. People hate rusted staples and detached covers - even in slabs. Some also hate old slabs and that slab is aaaancient. The Grader Notes on that book will take a weekend to read. lol. BTW, the grader notes say it's a Syd Shores cover. It does kind of seem Syd Shores'ish when you look at the little guy being held by the cops, but I don't know. I can't believe I missed the Canteen Kate. I would've bought it. lol. I probably would've tried getting that Planet Comics, too - great color, but if you care about interior defects in a slab (huge miscut, apparently) and rusted staples (again), those defects probably held it back - especially when the miscut is slapped on the label itself. The colors on that cover of the Planet Comics POP! Nice video with more comics I wish I had. 🤣

I didn't know about the rusted staples that would defining hurt the price.
