My viewers asked the following questions, which I'll answer in this video:
what's the name of the paper that CGC puts inside the comic before they slab it to preserve it? Can it be bought in bulk?
Do you use a UV light to detect color touch on golden age comics. From your experience is color touch rampant on golden age comics?
Do you have any of the hardcover/slipcase EC comics Library?
How hard do you think CGC would punish that in terms of grade? Also, I've noticed you buy quite a lot of books with markings on them. Do they bother you, or do you get desensitized after a while?
Are there any comic characters you feel are underutilized or underappreciated?
What is the best story arc in any comic series?
Is it safe to store books in a safe without fear of rust? Is there a select way to store books in a safe effectively?
What percentage of all your comics do you think are less than $20? Also, do you ever simply just rummage through dollar bins at shops or shows?
Is there a character that you wish would come back?
Comment on this video and I'll answer your question next week and give your channel a shout out.

Thank you so much for answering all of my questions!! You're an amazing comic book youtuber to take valuable time out of your day to do so. Congratulations on your comic book launch. Can't wait to pick one up at some point.
Thank you for a great community service 🥂

Terrific advice Allan. Because of these Q&A vids, I purchased an item from your Kickstarter a few hours after announcing it went live. I can only imagine it's now further surpassed your original goal. Congrats! Looking forward to receiving the book later. 😊

Alan I was hoping you were going to do a video covering restoration and how you felt about it. I own one book with B1 restoration, Single Series 12 (Joe Jinks). I knew it was restored but bought it anyway because loved the cover! What was fun was when I dropped it off at the New York Comic Con, the CGC rep loved it and called another rep over. They loved the cover and the way it presented itself even with the color touch.

Thank you for sharing your valuable insight! Love that Bulletman cover, hard to find in decent condition, regardless of restoration. I'm with you, I am not that turned off by restored, as long as it's not terribly done.

How about doing a "Forgotten Super Heroes of the Golden Age" video?

Yeah it is a real problem. Rusty staples can do a lot of damage.

I do have a question for your next Q&A session, that is what is the reason for the high desirability/collectibility for comic books where a red dress is a feature on the cover? What is deal with a red dress being a big deal? And does that carry the same weight with a red shirt or sweater? Thanks!

As a long-time collector, I don’t really know (or care) about the grading code on a restored book. If it has the pink label of death, it’s generally a no. I sold a Mister Mystery 12 with a restoration label that went for half of what a blue label would get. And it was just small color touch. Pink goddamn label!

On your June 8 livestream and interview on Matt's channel, the topic of "going down rabbit holes" came up. What would be your advice on how to avoid going down the "wrong rabbit hole" when collecting comics? As always thanks for your insight and congrats on your Kickstarter launching.

Hi Allen, thanks again for another great video! I have a question for you that might be fun. What are some of the busiest comic covers in your collection? Books that could look like Where's Waldo books, Schomburg covers come to mind, but I look forward to your take on the question.

I agree with you on the restored books. When I got back into the hobby, I adopted what everybody else was telling me - "purple label of death!" ... "don't buy them!" ... now, I don't really care. I actually have more of an aversion to restored books that have restoration removed by basically cutting it out, which I think looks comical. I've passed up books that have restoration removed in the past because they look hideous. If the book doesn't look like somebody went crazy with a marker on the book, is within my price range, and is an otherwise too-expensive book, I'll buy a restored version of it - no questions asked. Trimmed comics are probably the only ones I won't buy, or at least I don't want to buy them yet. By the way, the archival paper you referred to is also known as "micro chamber" paper.

Yes, micro chamber paper is the other term.

Have you ever gone through the CGC restoration removal? If so, what was your experience?

I just recently bought a comic with a double cover. I've seen a few silver and bronze age comics with them, but how rare are they from the golden age? What comics do you have with double covers?
