You call it early code based on the size of the code indicator, but the hairstyles scream mid 50s on the women too.
That GI Sweethearts #37 cover definitely doesn't look like a Matt Baker cover to me, but I'm no expert. lol. That remaindered copy is Secret Hearts #60. The Romantic Story issue @ 5:59 is #39. The Romantic Story issue @ 6:20 is #51. The Love Romances @ 7:40 is #88 (Kirby cover). The First Kiss @ 10:19 is #4. The Sweetheart Diary @ 11:35 is #49. The Heart Throbs @ 21:37 is #47 (according to MCS, it's the first issue of the series published by DC). Teen Confessions @ 22:47 is #2. The Sweethearts @ 23:18 is #46 (vol. 2). The Romantic Story @ 23:46 is #46. The Secret Love @ 24:26 is #3. Yes, I was bored. 🤣 To answer your question, I don't know too much about romance comics, but I wouldn't have spent that much on those comics, but then we probably have different tastes. I'm getting more into some romance covers, but really good covers are hard to find for me. I also never think of it as quantity per dollar because you could end up with a lot of crap that costs very little on a per crap basis. lol. Thanks for sharing!
That GI Sweethearts is definitely not a Baker cover but it is a terrific suggestive hooker cover.
A few of those Charlton giants are really tough to find (definitely Not from the ‘70s. They are 15 cents because they’re giants. All early ‘60s, maybe ‘50s).
I think you did very well. Many of those have few or no CGCs on census. Some of those I’ve never seen and I have hundreds if not thousands of romance comics in my hoard.
That's good to know. Thanks for the info.
Always wondered who was the market for romance comics! Hard to find! They feature some of the best comic artists of all time!
It amazing how much of the top tier talent worked on the romance comics.
Haha
Hard to watch your video -I'm incredibly jealous
Thanks
With the removal of those keys, you should have dropped the price.
If you bought these books all separately, it would cost you three times as much. Saying that, it’s very generic run fillerish lot. For the amount and how much you paid, I’d say you did good. It’s a very good collectors lot, not a reseller lot.
Thanks...I was worried I overpaid.
Allan, you have more money than you know what to do with. Not being knowledgeable about the romance comics, I'd say it was a wash. Hold on to them for 10-20 years and you'll do fine.
girls dye ur hair blonde
That seems to be the moral of the comic books.
You lost me at romance
lol, I used to feel the same way. As I started down this rabbit hole I realize the romance titles had some really great stuff
