It was a lot of fun and a lot of work to go through all the details, but I'm not complaining 😂 I did a test in Rally but unfortunately didn't mention it in the review. That was my mistake. It is fantastic for rally; however, I don't play many rally sims, but the best part is you can switch from a rally profile to a GT3 with a click of a button.
At 3x the cost of a very nice pair of non-active, this should be an interesting review. If you add a haptic to the non-active, does it get you most of the way to an active pedal?
Nice that the brake unit can be combined with HE pedals. Only complaint I would have is the white Molex style rear connectors… for this price they could do way better.
The Passive pedal cost $340 plus $120 for the damper and $140 to add the simagic reactor to it, that's $600, might as well just add the active pedal addon for $1700. I'm debating on getting the set, but I'm waiting for black friday and see if they are going to have any discounts
I was thinking of either going with either: 1x active pedal, 1x simucube (passive) throttle, 1x simlab clutch or: 1x active pedal, 1x Heusinkveld Ultimate+ Throttle, 1x Heusinkveld Ultimate+ clutch What do you think would work better? Do you think the SimuCube throttle is better, or the Heusinkveld? Which one would you go for?
The Simucube with Damper is comparable to the Heusinkveld+ Throttle, but I prefer the tooless adjustments on the simucube and the ability to use all one software; you can use the simucube software to control settings for Heusinkveld pedals but would need the additional adapters. Also, remember you wouldn't be able to purchase the Heusinkveld Throttle and Clutch without buying a whole set with Brake, so it might not make sense unless you already have a set. That wasn't clear to me from your comment, so not sure.
@@simracingden It's actually possible to buy a seperate Heusinkveld Clutch. I wonder if the SimLab or Heusinkveld Clutch is better. The SimLab would definitely look cooler, but maybe the Heusinkveld is a bit better? idk tbh. EDIT: I don't have any of it yet.
Been struggling with an injury to left hip and have a tendency to stamp hard on the brake pedal. Do you think having the abs feedback would help encourage me to not press as hard? Also I guess you can make the brake very soft if so required?
Sorry to hear man; wishing you a speedy recovery. The ABS feedback would definently help encourage you to be careful if you set it to be pretty intense it will scare the crap out of you lol. It's really impressive as it combines the force feedback and haptics. You can make the brake as soft or hard as you want with the click of a button. That is what makes this thing so impressive
Remenber that to take advantage of ABS you need to drive a car with ABS. Not all cars have ABS. I dont have these pedals but i think they are best to suit you with your hip injury since they are the most customized and precise pedals on the market.

I want to leave some feedback: I really like the way you visually present the products you review. You clearly have a good eye for that. However, every time I watch one of your reviews, I feel more like I‘m watching a product showcase or marketing video instead of a review. Some parts of your script just sound like your reading off of a brochure or the product page. It feel like it would go a long way to sometimes deviate from the script and do some free talking, maybe even sit in front of the camera and show some stuff on the products. Also you could make more comparisons to similar products and talk about what you prefer on which product. And I want to point out that I absolutely do not question your integrity. I genuinely think that you always want to be honest. But again, sometimes the way you present things makes the reviews look more like marketing videos for the companies than actual reviews. This comment doesn’t specifically target this video but just your style of presenting in general. I felt this way for most of your videos and decided to just leave my opinion now. You mention that enabling feedback for traction control isn't exactly realistic, but actually some cars in the past have been equipped with hydraulic traction control, that pushed back on the gas pedal and your foot, besides pulling timing. This is how traction control worked in some cars before throttle-by-wire was enabled, where TBW will close the throttle body no matter what your foot is doing with the pedal, since the gas pedal isn't really connected to anything. This form of traction control that actually manipulates the pedal linkage is exceptionally intuitive because it actively tells the driver how much "foot" they should have in it.
Nice review. I really like my ActivePedals. Worth the money, if the money isn't a big expense to you personally. Otherwise can achieve nearly the same result with a nice brake pedal and the simagic haptic addon, for a lot less money (depending on the pedal). Where did you get the deskmat? I'm a bit of a deskmat junkie, would like to check that one out.
I'm currently using the Fanatec V3 pedals in iRacing. I get some haptic feedback on the throttle for curbs and wheel spin. I've order the AP and passive throttle, but I feel like I'll be disappointed with the throttle. I guess I could go with a Buttkicker or 4-puck shaker system to get that instead of through the throttle. This way I'll save my Monopoly money to make other improvements rather than forking another $2.3K! 🤑💰
The pedals work really well, and I know Simucube says we can screw them in with 4 screws instead of 6, but I can't get past its sheer size and the overhang from my P1-X pedal tray. At the end of the day, the Active Pedals look like a prototype, and I look forward to the v2 being a lot smaller.
Yes, I do wish the size was smaller. This would be on the top of my wishlist for a "V2" ActivePedal; mine has been very secure with 4 screws, no issues, but sure, 6 would always be better.
I've managed to dial in my VRS pedals as close to perfect for me as possible and recently added the sim magic haptics to the break and throttle.... I can feel traction loss on the throttel and abs and lock ups on the break and I have a great sense of when the car is reaching limits...... all that for roughly £900. I've never used the simucube active but I guess I need to as I find it hard to justify £4000+ for which I doubt will give me 4x the experience of what i currently have... really good peice of kit though
Great! You can certainly recreate some of these effects, but it won't be exactly the same. The real advantage of the active pedal is that it combines all its features into one package, and the software can change the entire pedal's behaviour and feel with a click of a button when driving different vehicles/racing disciplines. For some, this is enough to justify the price tag for that experience. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching the video!
@@Max__apexsimagic is def not the same though they do the trick in a smaller much less satisfying scale. They may not be worth it for a lot of people and I use to poo-poo the price myself but no one currently is selling similar product at a lower price point.
@@dauntae24 Nah they make a haptic feedback motor that you can attach to most pedals with a 3d printed part. The rumbles you get when on abs are similar to the simucube one. Personally thats all i would care about but you can't do things like ajusting the pedal position throw and force on the fly. So if you like the convenience of being able to really fine tune the pedal the way you feel most comfortable or if you are someone that likes changing around a lot to simulate different cars then only the simucube pedal can do that. If you just care about the rumble feedback just get a simagic module and use it on your current pedals.
@@Max__apex these aren't even remotely close to the same thing as having just a rumble motor attached... 🤦♂️ To expand on that... in typical pedals you're just pushing against a spring etc which offers a constant resistance and with a Simmagic shaker you can make your pedals have a rumble feature much like a controller ...with this system it offers a variable resistance like a direct drive steering wheel does.
I am keeping the ActivePedal and Simucube throttle for sure on my main rig. The Heusinkvled Ultimate+ set has been passed down to my other rig for now until I start reviewing another pedal set.
hello just had a question looking into getting some simcore pedal faces for my active pedals and i notice you had some on your active pedal and passive throttle do you have the wide brake pedal face?
My issue is if I buy one with the throttle I’ll either have to have a totally mismatched clutch. Which would bug me. Or drop a bundle on a second AP. Simucube should have made a matching passive clutch. Or can you buy 2 throttles and use one as a clutch?
I hear you. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a passive clutch pedal from them at some point. You can use the throttle as a clutch, but it probably wouldn't be ideal for simulating the feeling of a clutch.

With that said, since Simcube has a "good" combo deal with the Pro 2 wheelbase + 2 AP's + the baseplate for *only* $4268. I think 2 AP's is the way to go. 2 AP's by themselves are $4134 - without a baseplate. Since the Pro 2 by itself is $1379 that combo's the deal of the century. Well, relative to full price lol. It's still a ton of cash, but I don't have a base or pedals yet and wanted a Simcube base anywho. Thanks for making this video, it made me look closer at them, and that's how I found the combo. You end up basically getting the Pro 2 wheelbase for free. *EDIT* the deal I found is NOT for 2 AP's, it's 1 AP + the $350 clutch, so not even close to the deal I thought it was LOL.

Don’t worry, I see it on their website and you are correct in your edit. I have been considering the upgrade to PC, hence looking at lots of Asetec and Simucube reviews. Seems you can’t really go wrong with either. Not sure I’m good enough in any case but enjoying the ease of a PS5 set up to date. Maybe one day…all the best 🙏
Mount Dayton pucks on your brake and gas pedal and you get 85% of what you get with this pedals My Friend own this pedals and I have use them more than 10 times and I own the heusivneld sprints with two Dayton pucks mount in the back and comparing mines pedals. With my friend I can say I don’t need to spent all that money
I think a lot of focus and comparison goes back to haptic effects. Still, I feel the real value in these pedals is the extensive and on-the-fly adjustments you can make, as well as being able to have completely different profiles for different cars and change the pedal feel. If that's not important to you and you only want haptics then there are less expensive ways to achieve that everyone will settle on different solutions. At the end of day it's what feels best for you. Thanks for your input and comment.
honestly, as i can understand the price of simucube écosystem is really high you can’t compare anything from them to simagic. i had simagic alpha base and now simucube pro. this is really an all new world. i don’t understand the youtubeurs who says it’s the same

You might miss the haptic effects on your throttle, but could be solved with an HPR from Simagic, which is still less than another AP 😉
