When the Moza pedal comes out, it will be under $1K and that's when Simucube is going to drop prices.

They could be positioning themselves with a product that is much cheaper to produce and be able to drop the price as soon as Moza drops their pedals, but they probably don't see a need to be the ones to push prices down just yet. Gotta milk what they can, while they can.

I love that visuable load cell. Most people do not even know whats the difference between that and a capacitive sensor and why load cell is not even a big deal at all and its more about the springs and plastics
I have 2 AP Ult and very happy with my purchases but probably wouldn’t have got them if I knew the Pro was being developed. Little miffed but is what it is in this hobby.

The now “Ultimate” still looks sexier though. I only purchased one, which I don’t have any regret. Still awesome to use and look at. This looks more plain. Obviously if I was starting again I’d have to think about it more before spending the extra coin. 😊

I almost pulled the trigger on an active pedal a few weeks ago but it seems like it’s best to wait and see what Moza has in store and if Simagic has anything up their sleeves in response.
I don't think this is that much cheaper for them to make, they're probably just scared of incoming competition so they made a cheaper version of active pedals. Most of the magic is in the software on the end of the day. Still a very nice product to see.
Would have been excited with a sub $1k price point. This still seems wildly overpriced considering people are DIYing active pedals for $400-$500. Obviously this would be a superior product but I still can't see the manufacturing costs being high enough to warrant the price tag. Hopefully more competition follows Moza and comes out with their own to get some of these costs down.
While I agree you do have to take into account their R&D costs. They pushed the boundaries and set the foundations for a whole generation of new pedals. Unfortunately for them, now there are alot of companies that can reverse engineer their work relatively easily to come up with something similar.
@@rover1374 I don't think that much reverse engineering is necessary. Linear actuators existed already, load cells as well. The rest is done by software. There are dozens of people showing their DIY active pedals on youtube. Yes, simucube did the proof of concept but I still can't justify spending more money on a single pedal than for my SC 2 Pro wheelbase.

But, if it were so simple and so cheap why did it take till after Simucubes release for the DIYs and Moza to happen? There is also the software component that would have helped others develop their devices too. It’s like anything really, the first ever of something usually does take a bit of work and money from the creator compared to subsequent releases from others.

Glad to see the price starting to drop. Still a long way from being something I would buy, but it's going in the right direction. If they can solve the grainy pedal feel problem and bring the features up to par with SimHub + Haptics then I'll start to get interested. As it stands, my Simtrecs + Simagic Haptics give me ABS on supported cars and Wheel Spin and Wheel Lock on any car in iRacing, whereas the ActivePedal only provides ABS on supported cars. I know GD are planning to solve this via an API, but that approach relies on iRacing to adopt it, which will take a lot of time. There is a very credible solution already available through the existing telemetry but for some reason it has not been employed in the ActivePedal, even as a stopgap solution. It's fairly baffling to be honest. I'm not one who is shy about spending money on my rig, but it's impossible to convince myself to spend a bunch of money when I'll lose important functionality along the way.
My initial thoughts on the Pro was a little muted. It felt to me the price was still too high. And maybe it is, I don’t know. What I do know is I love my SC2P to bits. Went from a Logitech G923 to it! Worth every penny. The best always stings the wallet. I guess I’ll have to start saving again. . .
I don't really see the point in these at this price. If you're willing to spend £/€1500 on ONE pedal, you're probably willing to spend £/€2100. If they'd come out with something around the £/€1000 mark, I think they'd be onto something. I love my SC2 pro, and at some point I'll get an active pedal, but I'd almost certainly just buy one ultimate pedal and link it with my HE ultimate + throttle and clutch.
I have BJ sim racing's steel gt and the load cell maximum limit is 200 kgs. The most i can put out is 150 kgs. And that can be easier or harder to achieve depending on what elastomers you're using and how high or low the rod you set it at. I need to have my pedals inverted. I can't have them upright so even if I got Andrew Tate's bank account I won't buy those pedals since it said 'do not invert them.' I look forward to see what Moza's are like. And next year if other companies made their own active pedals.

I was expecting around 50% cheaper than current price. I think that this is way too much for just a pedal. It's even more expensive than wheelbase itself. For this money I can replace complete brake system in my Seat Leon Cupra R. Everything except brake calipers and guess what, I will get even better feelings then using this pedal. Unbelievable
How is it $200? I went on the website and the Pro Pedal (with the Link hub!) costs 1779,60 Euros. The ultimate is 2398,80 Euros. That's a difference of 619,20 Euro, which is $677,68. I would say, $677,68 is quite a bit of money to "save".

I need help. I should i buy the moza r5 bundle or the csl dd bundle with QR2 and the formula 1 wheel or the mclaren gt3 wheel? I'm worried more of quality of the csl dd but with the QR2 its better but the moza wheel base overheats.
Based on the old Active Pedal, I am pretty sure the number refers to the largest force, at which 100% input is reached. I doubt anything bad will happen if you push these past 110kg with your foot, but there wont be any difference in terms of braking force after 110kg.

Honestly pointless release in my opinion. No one is going to buy this thing, and anyone who does, has more money than brains........... Hopefully Moza can make one that isn't a thousand dollars. Although given the price of this one, I have a feeling the Moza pedal will be around this price point, as Simucube is going to want to compete in the space Moza intends to occupy

the pro naming suggests a sport version is next so we hopefully will get a sub 1000 dollar pedal soon

A $1,000 price point would convert many, but not at this price. Maybe Moza can crack this price point.

I am so happy i stopped sim racing. Holy crap shit is so expensive. You can literally buy a beater and go do actual racing. Lol. Consumers are just that dumb. And before you say no you vant my buddy has a blazer he takes all around to the local tracks and races 1v1 and has less than 4k in the truck.
