Ah... we didn't look close enough. The previous GV80 we had didn't have that top layer (at least the one we reviewed didn't) so it felt proper sized. Thanks for pointing that out!
I have seen several car reviewers missing the deeper storage. There is a button to remove the top tray which is black and is obscured by the black lining of the top tray.
I love the GV80. Interesting that a way more expensive Mercedes GLE doesn’t have Digital Key, carpeted from wheel wells, a Digital Rearview mirror, driver AND passenger exterior auto-dimming mirrors, quilted Nappa Leather seats, nor a High End audio system like all of these you can get on the GV80.
I would. It's either X5 or GV80 for me. If I keep it up to 4-5yrs, it's gonna be X5. Longer than that GV80. GV80 is more affordable, lower cost to maintain, and better design.
@michellemooresings to each it own, but you'll see in resale value and maintenance cost over several years and see why Lexus is the best selling Asian luxury brand. The GENESIS looks amazing, though I can't lie, but mechanically my money is on Lexus.
@@Coupe-sy9nk I had a Lexus LS 430. Loved that car. I wasn't even interested in them at first. I just didn't like the design on the latest Lexus SUV 's. But the engines will last forever.
The coupe gets you about as fast as a X5 M40i. I’ve been tempted but a part of me doesn’t want to buy a Hyundai with full makeup and lipstick. Heard there’s a lot of body roll. But I’m sure its very comfortable
GORGEOUS vehicle and Hyundai is KILLING IT. However, the majority of the chrome appearing pieces on the car are NOT real chrome. Faux chrome finish on painted plastic.
So the frontscreen does not have apps lke youtube, netflix etc? Is it even possible to stream videos or only music? And can I connect HDMI to the rear entertainment?
😅 I just checked and I was already subbed. 😊 The GV80 is nice but man are they expensive which is fine but I need 3 rows for that price. 😊 **update this one was a 3rd row! Btw the screen is now OLED so what's why it looks so nice. I thought wireless Carplay and Android Auto was gonna come with an update later on?
These are nice, I compared to X5 and the Genesis was more "floaty" on the road so that made me feel not very confident in the handling. The X5 was better is some ways. Ultimately I bought a RX500h, which I am very happy with the smaller size around town, and overall quickness and nimble aspect due to size. Its quiet, comfortable, and nice to drive on long trips. I think you get a lot for you money in the Genesis lineup, but had to pass this time around.
@@twfinc6855 The adaptive suspension on the GV80 (some trims) also allows you to have a firmer ride on sport mode, but it use the dampers, so no air suspension, which may not be as good as the BMWs or Mercedes, but also won't cost thousands to fix it, and is way less complex, so I'm good with Genesis limited adjustments and more reliable approach.
I don't know why you couldn't get it to go faster from zero to 60 like all the other test drivers have done unless you're in a higher altitude I don't know but everyone else averages the time of 5.3 seconds
If you want more comfort, softer ride and tech that works better probably the GV80, if you want to have some fun the X5 is definitely more sporty and exciting.
@@tkdduqbear I did it. I tested the X5, GLE and Q7, and I found the GV80 to be the best balanced SUV. It's expensive, yes, and I was leaning to the GLE probably because the same brand brainwashing, but then I checked all the boxes on the GLE to have the same features than in the GV80 comparable trim, and ended up costing like 10K more. That sealed the deal for the GV80.
@elyj.8612 thanks for sharing! Why did Q7 not make the list for you? Also, any issues with the service experience on the GV80? I've read that although the car is nice, the expected service experience does not meet what you would expect from a luxury car dealership.
@@tkdduqbear speaking for myself Audis have become incredibly blah. The Q7 never looks updated and never looks different. It looks like a nice Brooks Brothers suit from 25 years ago. Around a second slower than MB and BMW's 6 cylinders with worse gas mileage. Is anyone else surprised that the Koreans are unable to catch up with one the other or both? At least the Japanese competition beats them in gas mileage. This is worse in both! Interior looks great though. They really need to add a higher HP trim, air suspension, and massage seats for the front passenger.
Fun fact genesis will bring a loaner to ur office or home when ur car needs a service Bmw and mercedes doesnt even do that And for all the haters who say its a Hyundai its totally different just like lexus is to toyota
I am sick of this luxury for less none sense ,go to car gurus and check the actual cars at the dealership not a theoretically built car and the prices for x5 and gv80 are almost identical for a similar engine size ,the 6 cylinders genesis and bmw with Awd not the hybrid range from 72-82 k for both cars ,
I love it. It's one of my favorite features. Have you ever seen one pull up behind you at a red light?? In the rear view?? It's beautiful❤ OMG!!! And that's when I fell in love with the entire car!!! I don't have one yet, maybe first of the year.
As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like it. Looks like a Bentley to me... Just sayin' I also like the BMW X5 50e. I'm conflicted on which one to get

Genesis got my attention, I'm in love with the aesthetic, the interior is giving my vibes.........I'm definitely buying this
