- Welcome or welcome back to the stash! today we're taking a look at the issue 4 of ultimate spider-man! its finally here and man it was worth the wait. i encourage everyone to buy this book to show marvel what we fans actually want!
PREVIOUSLY;
Twenty years ago, THE MAKER prevented a radioactive spider from biting a young PETER PARKER. He likewise prevented the creation of any other super heroes and formed a secret council to rule the world from the shadows.
Three months ago, TONY STARK sent Peter-now a married father of two-that same radioactive spider along with a picotech suit and warnings of THE MAKER'S COUNCIL. The spider's bite gifted Peter incredible powers that he used to aid a masked vigilante called GREEN GOBLIN against an assassin sent by WILSON FISK, an agent of the Maker's Council.
Somehow, Green Goblin was able to take control of Peter's picotech suit and expose his identity. But he also revealed himself as HARRY OSBORN, the billionaire heir of OSCORP INDUSTRIES...

Pete telling MJ is gonna be a momentous occasion, I cant wait.
im really hoping next issue he does so or maybe the issue after! i could see issue 5 ending with that cliffhanger
This issue was another great one! Only 4 issues in and it already feels like you know who these characters are. They are actually interesting and leave you wanting to spend more time with them. So happy to finally have some good Spidey comics again. I'm really excited to see more of the Peter, MJ, Harry, and Gwen dynamic. Jameson and Uncle Ben being bros is also super fun lol
I did not have jamerson and Ben being mates on my Spider-Man bingo list for this year but I’m not complaining 😂
I can’t wait for issue 5 such a shame we have to wait a month tho
@@mnstash Seriously, I would much rather have 2 of these a month instead of ASM. However I'm OK with waiting a bit longer between issues if it continues to be this good
For real Uncle Ben and Jonah being bros and mentors to Peter is not something I thought I'd see but now that I got it I want more.

Yes. Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson are soulmates. This is great stuff. Not that Paul bullshit.

This is why I want The Spectacular Spider-Man to come back. We could finally show a proper adaptation of Mary Jane and Peter Parker being together.
Ultimate Spider-Man for me, feels similar to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. The good aspects of the trilogy.
Yeah each character feels like a person in both!

I have to be honest. I never interested reading Spider-Man comics. Even back in the day, when Bendis runs Ultimate Spider-Man in 2000.
IMO, Bendis USM it's almost the same version as Amazing Spider-Man, which I am not interested at all.
But this new Ultimate Spider-Man series, is DIFFERENT! It's fresh!!
It offer something new, that isn't like the old Amazing Spider-Man storyline.
It's also doesn't feel Marvel has recycle their character from 1960's.
I am talking this from Ultimate Spider-Man new reader's point of view.

that was actually one of my complaints of spectacular spider-men (another new series) was that it once again regresses Peter by not doing anything new!
For once i have nothing to add, i agree perfect comic.
Well i enjoyed it..
Just wanted to gripe on the Ams run...i think or started to feel the current downtime in Peter and MJ's relation is or is not going to be resolved.
Editorial is going to keep Paul around to prefent future attempts to get Peter and MJ togheter.
Nick Spencer probably did us no favours leaving their relationship development uncompleted.
So not looking forward to the easy beeing green arc thats comming and will last to issue 55.
I’m hoping after this next story it’s zeb wells no more, I even told my comic store soon as he leaves you’ll get a call from me asking to order the next asm issue
Ultimate Spider-Man is so interesting I almost forget that in another comic Zebb Wells is taking his failed marriage out on Peter.

2:10 I agree it would get boring if there was nothing but the action in a comic so Peter and MJ having a double date with Harry and Gwen is a nice change of pace

I love this book it’s really amazing and seeing Peter Parker and Mary Jane being married and talking to ultimate Harry Osborn and ultimate Gwen Stacy is super amazing and very interesting, and I am very intrigued about Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy relationship since they both know he’s the green goblin, and oh boy knowing now she knows her husband is green goblin and when he dies I can see a scenario of her becoming the new green goblin in this universe which would be insane if that happens but that’s just my opinion. Overall though this book is freaking fantastic and ten times better then amazing Spider-Man which is freaking trainwreck right now and not fun to read so thank god we have ultimate Spider-Man which is freaking fantastic and amazing in my opinion.
I love how many directions they can take this story with all seeming fresh and fun to read! Hickman has outdone himself so far, he’s embarrassed everyone over at asm in more ways than one and honestly at this point this should be the main title for spidey

It was good to see Peter...just be Peter. And to see the couple dynamics of Gwen and Harry vs Peter and MJ. Gwen came off as a bit uppity, Harry came off as a bit of a tool. Peter and MJ both felt relate-able. This is the stuff I've been begging for Since OMD and only got a glimpse of in Renew Your Vows (wish they woulda continued that). I felt it may have been a bit early (not for me, for the base in large) for a more subdued issue, but I think it was all very well done character building and not filler.
yeah man I love the way they bounced of each other in this, Hickman is just soo good when it comes to these story stories I with he was the main man for asm

What is this feeling is this what it feels like to be excited for the next issue? I haven’t felt like this in awhile.
I can't believe im actually buying a spider-man comic monthly 😭
No offense, but I'm not a huge fan of the costumes outside of Spidey's, and even then I have an issue with it not being simple spandex.
But it's a me thing.
Green goblin and bullseye have a real tech armour feel, I don’t think those designs look bad but I’m always gonna pick their classic spandex suit over it. Can’t beat the classic
@@mnstash Goblin's doesn't really scream "Goblin" to me. It looks even more like discount Power Ranger stuff than William Dafoe's costume.

Yes if you listen to the video I’ve been sick, if you saw my community post it’s on the list, I will get to it next. Ultimate Spider-Man and asm are the main series so they get priority in terms of popularity

@@mnstashAlso I have a feeling that the only reason I can think of May not liking J jonah And wanted him to leave could be because he'll untimately start to become Spidey's harshest critic like in the mainstream timeline like is that a possibility I mean I doubt that jameson is going on the same path like he did in the 616 continuety since Spidey is just existing as of now unlike what was intended to be for him to bash him like before hmm something tells me that uncle ben might be misled by the lies jameson might concoct to his nephew which could led to their fallout just because or simply hickman has a new plan for his character that diverges his life in 6160 than following his traditional life from 616 whaddya think?
@@edrianraneses5864 I was thinking maybe this JJJ might be a little more tamed and controlled with Ben as his right hand man. Robbie was like that for JJJ in the main comics but the difference was Jonah was the big boss whereas here Ben should have equal authority

So, you're a Romita purist? Can't blame ya, his work was peak. But we've had some solid redesigns, such as Mark Bagley's 90s work and Patrick Gleeson (who I'd hope to bring on as my artist for my run).
Oh in the video I was making a point of how people used to just strictly follow romita then Todd changed it as a joke. My favourite artist for spidey is bagley tho specifically 90s bagley!
Gleesons great too especially for a modern artist I wish he was the main for asm

Romita sr art on spidey is legendary! I also liked Erik Larson a lot too during the 90s tbh
