- Welcome or welcome back to the stash! today we're taking a look at the issue 3 of ultimate spider-man! its finally here and man it was worth the wait. i encourage everyone to buy this book to show marvel what we fans actually want!
PREVIOUSLY;
Twenty years ago, THE MAKER prevented a radioactive spider from biting a young PETER PARKER. He likewise prevented the creation of any other super heroes and formed a secret council to rule the world from the shadows.
Two months ago, Peter Parker-now a married father of two-allowed a radioactive spider to bite him after TONY STARK sent Peter a picotech suit, the spider and warnings of THE MAKER'S COUNCIL.
Since then, Peter has used his incredible new abilities to pursue the truth of the world, while his uncle, BEN PARKER, pursues it through investigative journalism after leaving the corrupt Daily Bugle, owned by WILSON FISK.
The one hitch in Peter's heroism? His daughter, MAY PARKER, has discovered his secret identity...

I can tell you are happy with the Ultimate Spider-Man series' compared to other videos when you are reviewing Zeb Wells's Spider-Man comic when the tone was just depressing

Ultimate Spider-Man feels like a breath of fresh air. While amazing Spider-Man feels like I’m bundle my breath in a sewer.
@MNstash I just read issue #3 today, and I have had no complaints with where this run is going, only three issues in and I'm already immersed in this world and this interpretation of Peter Parker. I think what I really love is the level of improvisation Peter is taking with being a vigilante, he's only been Spider-Man for a few months and I appreciate seeing him learn and adapt to his shortcomings, and there's this sense of anticipation in his methods too.
He wants to make sure he's taking the correct steps but at the same time he isn't sure where his next move should be after he succeeds in one endeavor. I'm looking forward to seeing Peter use the Daily Bugle and Ben and JJJ's newspaper tabloid to obtain information about what is happening under the surface of the city so he can work more efficiently as a vigilante, but the juxtaposition of justice and morality between Harry and Peter will be a very interesting story element between the two of them.
Because I have a feeling there will come a point where both there ideals will come into conflict with one another; and what will be placed between them is what it will take to show true justice and the responsibilities they both have with the power they each possess. I'm curious where this element of the story will go, since it's implied that the Pico suit that Peter is currently wearing was designed by Oscorp. Because if things go south between Harry and Peter, Harry could use that to his advantage to potentially remove this nanotech suit from the equation, and force peter to make a cloth material of the his red and blue design. I can't wait for issue #4!!!
oh man I didn't even think of that! it would be sooo cool though to see him lose the suit but to come back with a fabric one. its something the spider-man game should do if he fights green goblin in that too! I really wanna manage to pickup the j Scott campell variant covers for issue 4 they're incredible man
@@mnstash I’m hoping to pick up some covers too, they’re gorgeous!! It’s a long way from now, but how cool would it be if this world’s rendition of the symbiote is more nanotech based. It just gave me a vibe because of how Harry synced with the suit and the way it flowed off to reveal Peter’s face. Plus, it had a black voice bubble (which could mean anything) but it could just be an aesthetic choice for the operated voice. But it feels like that would be an interesting take on the character!
I used to have a huge collection of ASM comics, but after the “One
more day” storyline I stopped collecting. Jonathan Hickman needs to replace Zeb Wells.

@@mnstash My collection skued more titles ASM, X-Men and Dectective comics but vast majority of collection was ASM the oldest I had issue #28 with the molten man and I recalled Peter graduted from Midtown H.s. I also had #31 where he enroll at ESU where he meets Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn also had #42 where Peter meets Mary Jane watson after months him dodging the setup and I'm anabashed John Romita fan tried collected everthing he had drawn
those are 3 big keys to have! I love issue 31 so much since its apart of if this be my destiny
Another great video. "USM is the best comic hands down of the 4 being published by Marvel. "Superior Spider-Man" and "ASM" lack synergy and continuity and "The Spectacular Spider-Men (TSSM) is most likely another alternate universe like "USM". The question is can Dan Slott, Zeb Wells, or any Marvel writer or editor spell the words synergy or continuity? It seems Jonathan Hickman (so far) and Greg Weisman can. However, there's only 1 issue of TSSM, so that's a wait-and-see process.
I'll give a quick reference example. In the 1st Gang war event back in "TASM #s 284-288" Peter, MJ, and Felcia's triangle wasn't covered too much in that event. However, in "Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man (PPTSS)" #s 123-129" that story arc was covered more in-depth when Felicia was planning revenge on Peter for their break-up with the Foreigner. In the end, Felicia still professes her love for Spider-Man as she goes away on a cruise. In "TASM # 289, at the end, Peter is swinging away from his apartment in his new black suit made by Felcia to replace a damaged suit. The caption says, "Next issue: the Question.". I thought Peter was going to ask Felicia to marry him because, at some point in PPTSS, Felicia would betray the Foreigner, help Peter, and finally become more mature accepting not only Spider-Man but Peter as well. This didn't happen. Yet, if you didn't read PPTSS, you would have thought Peter was going to ask Felicia to marry him, not MJ in "TASM # 290.
The old days weren't perfect, but the storylines made sense, even if the story arcs went across several comic titles. Today's comic writers and editors are only interested in pushing the message and wokeness for the most part, except in "USM" and maybe "TSSM". Making Felicia bisexual in "Jaclkpot and The Black Cat # 1" is utterly ridiculous.
Although I'll admit, I haven't followed Black Cat that closely lately, so I must have missed the issue where she's bi now. The Nick Spencer run was so much better than this Zeb Wells run. At least, Nick Spencer made the decision for Peter to reveal his identity to Felicia who couldn't remember who he was due to the Dr. Strange spell in "ASM # 10 Vol. # 5". It was a nice moment when Peter took off his mask in front of her and told her who he is. Plus this is where The Black Cat grew and matured as a character accepting Peter for who he is. Every time I go back to that issue and reread it, I get something in my eye, LOL!
Of course, Zeb Wells ruined this in his rum. Why put them together for 20 to 25 issues only to break them up again. Then disrespecting Spider-Man again by implying, that Black Cat's relationship with her current girlfriend, while eating steaks no less, is so much better than dating Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Complete and utter garbage. Oh and BTW, let's have Michelle the Lawyer show up for no apparent reason, just so MJ can tell Peter he hasn't lost his touch with women humiliating him further. Truly a tragedy. Keep up the great work.
hey man thank you again for the comment loved reading it as always. I think it'd be really interesting to see how Hickman would handle a character like black cat, im sure if he ever did he'd do a wayyyyy better job than whatever the hell they've been doing to her for the last few years.
its crazy to me that in 2024 we finally have a comic book to look forward to picking up and reading fresh off the shelf! this series is pretty much everything asm should be and MORE. Peter actually acts like an adult, has a job a family a wife everything! I can't wait for the next issue next month, I WISH IT WAS HERE NOW!😭
@@mnstash Me too. Some TH-cam channels think Michelle the lawyer showed up in "ASM # 46" because Ben Reilly called her up and told her to meet Peter for a date. That was supposedly to play a prank on Peter. I don't know why Ben Reilly would do that after the terrible Chasm saga where he was controlled by the Queen. The Chams saga was another disastrous event for Marvel and Spider-Man. Completely forgettable. Cheers.
Marco Checchetto's artwork in this series is amazing, one of my favorite current comic artists. I can't wait to see more of Harry and Peter teaming up in future issues. Bullseye is also super cool in this issue, I hope we get more of him (and maybe this universe's Daredevil? we already saw Matt in issue #1 but I crave some good Spidey x Hornhead action lol)
@JacobyGrz I love Bullseye’s design, it’s not too different to where you can’t recognize him but not too similar to the original. I love how tactical it looks and I really appreciate the mask he wears, it’s just a great design with subtle differences. I hope for an Ultimate Daredevil series as well, but I want this world to develop properly before Marvel puts too many eggs in one basket.
I wish I knew how to pronounce his last name to give him proper credit because it's just so beautiful! oh man that would be awesome especially considering fisk is gonna play a huge role within this series!!
tbh the mcu should've went to this design instead if whatever the hell they did instead from the leaked images

I loved ultimate Spider-Man so much and seeing mayday parker peter parker and Mary jane daughter helping the design of the suit makes me so happy and even cooler seeing him swing with his daughter mayday parker the future spider-girl makes me so happy that I am so excited to see what happens next especially with ultimate gwen stacy appearing in this awesome story and series makes me so happy that its going to be amazing, also i really ultimate Spider-Man aka ultimate peter parker beat bullseye was really awesome and badass in my opinion. ;)
we finally got our hero back man this series is PEAK. who would've thought in 2024 we'd have Peter married to MJ with a family ?! its here and its beautiful :)

The new USM will last at least 18 issues more likely the first 18-30 issues will simply be its first act. I say this because this series is occuring in real time and a year and a half if i remember right was the timeframe for the return of the Maker that the Ultimates are preparing for.
well hopefully its the best year and half we could ask for. we need this book to save mary janes character because of how badly asm has damaged it
It's exactly what readers want Peter in his mid thirties as he should be at this point, married to MJ, with kids and since it plays out in real time if the title last that long new USM Peter can age with the readers over twenty years and 240 issues assuming it remains a monthly title till the character gets a proper end in his mid fifties (I wish) also renew your vows had some digital exclusive issues in the past year on the unlimited app. So a revival of ryv is not out of the question. Much as I'd really love to bring MC2 continuity back DeFalco wrapped it up so well it's fine if they leave it be.
@@thegodpill914 its just so annoying in a way how marvel would give us them married in everything but the main universe! the 90s imo had such a good foundation for the future of spider-man comics, Pete and mj married and expecting a child, Pete and ben getting that brotherly bond, aunt may passed away finally allowing Peter to move on etc
Slight Correction here: Ultimate Spider-Man is the savior of *Peter Parker comics.* Because 616 is in shambles due to the current run, but when it comes to Spider-Man comics as a whole, Miles Morales has been carrying Spidey comics for a year before Ultimate came out.
Now *both of them* carry Spider-Man comics on their backs, instead of Miles carrying the load by himself.
I hadn’t notice tbh. I always see stacks of asm and miles comics every store I go to. Even the big one in the city was talking about how thankful they were for usm😭
@@mnstash Well that's fair. In my city and other local comic book stores, Miles has been flying off the shelves for awhile now. Either way it's nice to see Peter being treated with respect again.
Brian Michael Bendis and Johnathan Hickman Ultimate Spider-Man comics are both the hydrogen bombs
I really hope Peter throws his Nanotech suit away and makes a cloth version of this suit because if someone does this in the future omg peter will be screwed

So Nick Spencer is a good writer and recommended? 🙌🏼🔥 I’m staying far away from Dan Slot and Zeb Wells, despite the variant covers. I’m not blowing my money for those writers
Nick Spencer was on track of pretty much fixing everything wrong with Spider-Man comics. He retconned the infamous sins past story and got Pete and mj back together. That’s not to say his stuff didn’t have its faults but I mostly enjoyed it
@@mnstash I told my gf (who LOVES Gwen Stacy) about Sins Past, last night, and she was absolutely disgusted and upset. I still can’t believe Marvel let something like that happen. It’s a good thing we got Spider-Man Blue 🙌🏼💙
