Happy for you David. I’ll be looking forward to more reviews as I wait patiently for my Capstone. The TRD Pro is my second choice but the dealership said it will be more difficult to find
Once again built in Japan means a LOT on a Toyota product. Happy with my ‘19 4Runner TRD Pro. Not a fan of turbo from any manufacturer. Might even buy a GX to get one of the last normally aspirated V8’s, and of course the Tahara plant👍👍😊
The small quality issues with first editions of trucks are why I decided to order a 3rd Gen Tacoma instead of getting the soon to come 4th Gen. After a few years I’m sure it will be ironed out.
David, keep a list of all of the quality control issues so that Toyota knows about it and can fix these issues for you and all subsequent TRD Pro owners.
I’d be willing to bet Toyota is watching this like a hawk. It doesn’t look good when someone reviewing these for the masses gets one with backwards letters on the hood.

Newer cars especially the ones who have massively changed from a older models generally have more issues, now for Toyota they always check for quality control a lot, each time there is a issue they stop the production line and figure it out unlike other manufactures, but ever since the pandemic there was a lack of parts especially the chips and I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure that Toyota has no time to stop production

And I would like to inform people possibly concerned about these issues, that is seems that they are doing better in terms of fit/finish. All my emblems are correct, the plastic trim piece that he had bad fiment on at the driver side corner of the hood on mine are fit well on both sides. And the window seals on mine have a small gap maybe 1/8" but has the same gap on both sides. The only quality issue I have so far one day in, is there was a small scracth on the center cap of the steering wheel, that I made a complaint about and would like Toyota to replace. One of the only other little issues that I noticed so far, was it feels like the plastic covers on the tops of the sides of the bed, seem looser then the previous genertaion. I don't know if it will become and issue and cause a rattle in the future, but just grabbing onto them the seem looser and have more movement then I am used to.

The 17 is still in the driverway as I prepair to list it for sale. And I can honestly tell everyone I have no desire to drive it again, and I do not miss the V8 at all. So far this new truck is a blast to drive and Im loving the power, smoothness, and all the tech bells and whistles. No regrets so far......Cheers!
Great truck. Congrats David. Love the interior, wondered what the mileage is on this considering its a hybrid? How big would the tank be? Looking forward to future videos
Extremely detailed review, although i disagree with the comment Orange Peel wasn’t unusual in paint on a truck.
On another note, you’ll be impressed with the water resistant qualities of the BakFlip4 Tonneau. No problems with mine keeping cargo dry. With respect to the interior, the TRD Pro signature red stitching doesn’t show-up on the red leather seats.
That flipped D is so strange! Now I can’t unsee it!
Yes I know!
Right before you let us hear the exhaust sound I got an old spice commercial with the whistling. Had to do a double take as I wasn’t looking at the screen at the time
Does the rear view mirror camera still work while the tonneau cover is up?
