13 direct reports if which only 3 are chefs and 10 are managers in a restaurant? I have no words.

If you are a manager, you lead. Leading is the people aspect of management. If you lead people, you manage them.

Very concrete examples. This is helpful especially I'm into attending seminars of this sort.

Any way we can get this to be mandatory for all politicians to watch?

He started it by referencing a whole bunch of things in a town and I knew automatically he was talking about my hometown of Tucson!

You should pass the microphone around to the students asking the questions. Watching your video, I have no idea of what the questions are.

This was actually very good. Most on here are crap, but Scott seems to be the real deal.

Ok…so the dog opener was a bit weird but sorry, this guy lost all credibility with me by giving credit to Blanchard for inventing situational leadership when West Point wrote and taught me the book on it in the early 80’s. He then goes on to example the military for its “potato peeling transactional leadership”. Did you ever serve? Didn’t think so.
Yep. Don’t lie and don’t fake it. But know what you’re talking about! This is the worst talk I’ve ever seen on the topic of leadership vs management.
So when you ask yourself what would Max do, my bet is he’d catch the Goldman Sachs lecture instead, next time around.

The military is the one place where leaders eat last, the care and protection of your troops is paramount, and developing their leadership down to and beyond Corporal is an essential part of the job; then the 'leader' needs to manage, needs to ensure supplies and logistics are coordinated with attack and maneuver, and that the troops are properly trained and capable for the mission; that the mission is well defined and supported.

The guy sitting in front with the pink band around his head is a disaster to the seriousness of the lecture. That outfit belongs in a gang.....

I think your reaching and profiling with this comment. It could be breast cancer awareness month for all we know.. Stop it.

He's also in the front row, present at a lecture given by a wealthy and prestigious alumni of the University. Mellow out man.
