Nice video, can I just add coconut oil for the base? If I wanted to add herbs when would those go in? Thank you.
I'm so glad you liked the video! Yes you can use only coconut oil. However coconut oil is drying and your soap may feel harsh on your skin so I would strongly suggest adding at least some olive oil.
After adding the 35 g of apple vinegar, what did you add? aside from the essential oils?
After I add apple cider vinegar I add panthenol, but it's really optional.
What is the purpose of the apple cider vinegar, especially since its acidity is neutralized by the high alkalinity of the lye?
We are adding some apple cider vinegar after we cook the soap. This way it's not killed by the lye and most of it's beneficial properties remain intact.
Can apple cider vinegar be used in a Castile soap recipe?
I've never tried it, but I don't see why not.
