The beast is real my friend if rare decide to be our friends, and maybe make the Ghost like the ancient terror the green one is a little rare so why can they make the ghost a little bit low I mean i think it’s 19% chance for the terror and I think it should be a 16% for the ghost
Congrats! Got mine about a year ago on a random nothing day sailing with my friend. There was another crew not far off from us when we heard the new music and they clearly were new as they saw the meg and turned away. I was on the megaphone yelling "You REALLY want to get in on this!" as they turned lol. Hope they never read this to know what they missed
Comparing Ancient skelly to the Shrouded in terms of rarity is like comparing finding dead jellyfish over lottery ticket in the sand of a populated beach.
I never knew Ancient Skelly's were so rare. I've ran into about 5 of them since Day 1, but never had the opportunity to kill single one because they ran away too fast or I would get blown up by a keg. -_- I feel truly ill-fated now knowing they are so rare.

Congrats. I’ve faced it three times, still haven’t beaten it yet. First two times I got too close to an island and it despawned. The last time a volcano killed me and my ship before I could defeat it.
Good job man! I met the shrouded 2 days ago, and it despawned on my ship 3 times- im genuinely mad about it. Thankfully me and my crew sent in support tickets.

I was going through the Fog the day after the patch of them adding it ... and I Heard a meg spawn .... I didn't see anything beyond it's face pass by my sloop's window and I saw it's white eye.... Haven't seen it since.
1,000 hours in SoT and I’ve never had a session as lucky as this you are a god🤝, the closest thing I’ve had to a session as good as this is when I unlocked my skeleton curse and found an ancient skelle straight after, then found a finished Fort of fortune with all the loot still there and no one around to take it but me
Alas I'm just a lucky helmsman who believes in a bit of karma on the seas. Your luck sounds strong, but with that Skeleton Curse your skill and tenacity sound stronger! Hopefully it all nets you your Ghost soon. - Also, good to know I'm not the only one who's found completed FoFs with a pile of loot randomly!
So here's my official advice, since it sounds like you might be experiencing the same issue I did: Wait about 3 days, see if it populates. - If it doesn't, make sure you're wearing that Title so there's absolute proof that you have done it, and toss Support a Ticket on the SoT website regarding in-game rewards, and explain to them that you waited 3 days while wearing the Title but the Figurehead still hasn't populated. Additionally, if you have any video footage like I did, or even a screenshot of the moment, it probably doesn't hurt to supply them with a link to it in the Ticket. - They should escalate your ticket for investigation on their end, and once they've confirmed it (it could take a day or two), they'll ensure it gets delivered to you.
I saw a shroud once but we were chased by reaper galleon with sweats on board they sunk us only encounter i had with it through 1.5k hours of this game
If you think about it probably hundreds of thousands of people some with more hours than you that have never seen it once, you have to be so lucky to get the shrouded ghost
My friend got it as a 3 month new player, didn't even know what it was at the time. He's worn the title ever since and he didn't realize it unlocked a figurehead until a year later. That was 4 years ago and I still haven't seen it and we play every day.

i just stop the ship, without the anchor, and then turn the wheel so your ship spins around, you can adjust and follow the meg as it spins around the boat and just hit him with cannon shots

Aye, probably the same advice you'd find anywhere else, but take down every skelly ship/ship battle server event you see. Back in the day, checking every shipwreck you saw was also worth it since you'd leave with at least one barnacled chest... But with the newer high value loot being in every shipwreck now, I can't rightly attest to how beneficial it may currently be. I'll look into it. - That said, I'd still encourage checking shipwrecks due to the aforementioned loot, as well as some pretty passive gains in the Fishing Commendation department! All that aside, it really is just a matter of time. Some days I just sail the sea for the sake of being out on the (virtual) water, and before I know it I've found some noteworthy treasure; if it's something that progresses a Commendation, even if it's just one piece of loot, I'll head to port and turn it in to guarantee progress for the day. May the winds be in your favor!

Even rarer than seeing the shrouded ghost this season was seein any meg actually damage a ship. I've played for over 100 hours in just this season alone and have fought countless megs, all of which never even went for a charge.
I was wondering what the shark was. Im a newer player with only 40 hours. Saw it by an island (forgot name) digging up treasure for sound of siren. Lucky me. Never killed it though.
The giant shark is a megaladon encounter, this white one though is a super rare variant that most people have never encountered, there are 5 types of meg.
idk if someone told you this but if you´re doing a merchant run and got plants as cargo, make a little pool of water in the lower deck and put the plants it, your ship will creak but you don´t have to manually water em
A well known strategy! Thanks for looking out, however as a personal preference, I don't use it, and I'll explain why for any curious viewers reading (anyone not interested should stop reading here): Sea of Thieves is a game where (most) people weigh risk vs. reward, and as a solo Sloop Merchant, not only should you only ever need to water your plants *once per trip,* but it also takes about 5 seconds to scoop the minimum-possible amount of water from the stairs onto the plants; since the water doesn't get consumed (unlike when dousing fire), you can leisurely recycle that single initial-bucketed minimum amount of water from the stairs over and over, store it in your bucket when finished (leaving your ship nice 'n dry), and _you're doing this during transit._ *You're not losing any time, nor do you gain any time by using the flooded-lower-deck strat.* What the lower-deck strat _does carry the potential of_ (albeit minorly) is increasing the risk of *things going wrong faster,* since you need _more_ than the minimum-possible amount of water below deck in order to automatically water plants (typically up to the colored line on the crate). Especially now in Season 11 where ships (both skelly and player) pop up like mad, whether you're in the Devil's Roar or not, a higher water level carries a non-zero increase in risk, should any unexpected things happen. - I, _personally,_ like to keep risks on my cargo runs as low as possible, especially if said risk saves me absolutely no time since I'm always in transit. *But that is just me, and my personal preference.* TLDNR: It's all preference, strat is utterly valid if you hate manual labor while sailing, but *you don't gain any time by flooding your lower deck* nor do you lose time by recycling a single bucket of water, and there's a small-but-definite increase in risk by having more water below deck at any time. No joke though, I coincidentally watched the flooded-lower-deck strat sink an overwhelmed solo Slooper this morning who got popped up on in the Roar! - Constantly minimizing cargo risk is why people like me have more gold, more commendations, and over 4 million more Merchant points than him this month... Divine timing on this comment though, I love how fellow sailors are always passing tips & tricks to each other!
I played sot when it first came out back in 2018 then lost my account sadly but I’ve recently started playing again and after about 100 hours of play time me and my buddy killed the shrouded ghost a couple weeks ago lol
Trust me, yes I do. There was something in the air that night for the Ghost and an Ancient Skelly to spawn... Plenty of Day 1 players I know have yet to ever encounter it!
I first downloaded the game a month ago. The first meg I encountered I got very scared as I was solo slooping cuz my teammate left so I ran. I got some hours in and encountered another one except this one was white. I decided to fight and killed it got nothing good and was so disappointed until I learned it’s the rarest one.
Folks, after over 3000 hours spread across the years that I’ve played Sea of Thieves, I still have yet to meet the shrouded ghost.

I joined a month and a bit after SOT came out on PS5 and I have gotten 2 ancient skellies. No kraken yet though.

The giant shark is a megaladon encounter, this white one though is a super rare variant that most people have never encountered, there are 5 types of meg.
It was this variant I looked at the wiki. Sadly I got zero photo evidence because Im new and didn’t know it was rare until this video 😢

I've only been playing for a few months and ran into one while I was being chased by two galleons. Couldn't do squat about it T_T
idk if someone told you this but if you´re doing a merchant run and got plants as cargo, make a little pool of water in the lower deck and put the plants it, your ship will creak but you don´t have to manually water em
A well known strategy! Thanks for looking out, however as a personal preference, I don't use it, and I'll explain why for any curious viewers reading (anyone not interested should stop reading here):
Sea of Thieves is a game where (most) people weigh risk vs. reward, and as a solo Sloop Merchant, not only should you only ever need to water your plants *once per trip,* but it also takes about 5 seconds to scoop the minimum-possible amount of water from the stairs onto the plants; since the water doesn't get consumed (unlike when dousing fire), you can leisurely recycle that single initial-bucketed minimum amount of water from the stairs over and over, store it in your bucket when finished (leaving your ship nice 'n dry), and _you're doing this during transit._ *You're not losing any time, nor do you gain any time by using the flooded-lower-deck strat.* What the lower-deck strat _does carry the potential of_ (albeit minorly) is increasing the risk of *things going wrong faster,* since you need _more_ than the minimum-possible amount of water below deck in order to automatically water plants (typically up to the colored line on the crate). Especially now in Season 11 where ships (both skelly and player) pop up like mad, whether you're in the Devil's Roar or not, a higher water level carries a non-zero increase in risk, should any unexpected things happen. - I, _personally,_ like to keep risks on my cargo runs as low as possible, especially if said risk saves me absolutely no time since I'm always in transit. *But that is just me, and my personal preference.*
TLDNR: It's all preference, strat is utterly valid if you hate manual labor while sailing, but *you don't gain any time by flooding your lower deck* nor do you lose time by recycling a single bucket of water, and there's a small-but-definite increase in risk by having more water below deck at any time.
No joke though, I coincidentally watched the flooded-lower-deck strat sink an overwhelmed solo Slooper this morning who got popped up on in the Roar! - Constantly minimizing cargo risk is why people like me have more gold, more commendations, and over 4 million more Merchant points than him this month... Divine timing on this comment though, I love how fellow sailors are always passing tips & tricks to each other!

I played sot when it first came out back in 2018 then lost my account sadly but I’ve recently started playing again and after about 100 hours of play time me and my buddy killed the shrouded ghost a couple weeks ago lol

Trust me, yes I do. There was something in the air that night for the Ghost and an Ancient Skelly to spawn... Plenty of Day 1 players I know have yet to ever encounter it!
After 26 hours in this game I have yet to see the shrouded ghost
I first downloaded the game a month ago. The first meg I encountered I got very scared as I was solo slooping cuz my teammate left so I ran. I got some hours in and encountered another one except this one was white. I decided to fight and killed it got nothing good and was so disappointed until I learned it’s the rarest one.
I've heard so many people claim that newer players have better chances at finding it! Good choice!
The shrouded ghost is the only unbugged Meg that will attack I guess?
