Me and my crew partook in this event yesterday and unfortunately we are all somewhat clueless about the game's lore so we chose the hunter's side simply because we thought that sounded cooler than "servant's" as we didn't realize that meant servant of the flame lol- I hope we can switch sides on our next login

imma be honest I don't actually care what happens to golden sands. as an outpost I absolutly hated it tbh, as a shrouded Isle its just annoying. so like everytime I get on I do a little bit of each side lmao like I'll blow up every rowboat I see and then take one to golden sands maybe take some supplies to em afterwards
I'd say your reasoning for burning Golden Sands isn't a real reason, but seeing that you kill literal megalodons for that meat it actually makes sense.

As much as I’m interested to see what happens when golden sands is destroyed, I will still side with Merrick as golden sands was my very first outpost and it’s where I saw how beautiful the ocean is in The Sea of Thieves! Love your videos cliff 🤘
This is my reasoning as well, it was my first outpost I ever sold at… as little gold that castaways chest was worth, the emotions behind it made it all the more valuable
big agree on the "us vs them" event stuff giving more reasons and opportunities to play cooperatively while still encouraging pvp is the best direction
All good reasons, Why would you work with the Reapers here? You lose an outpost permanently, Merrick Is the alpha chad of the sea of thieves (Man does all the stuff he's done in recent memory AFTER he lost all but one of his limbs.) And the dumbass Servant (A.K.A Flameheart Jr.) couldn't even finish ONE voyage before getting sunk and now sounds like he smoke 40 packs of cigs a day. You really want to follow a loser who sank in the first 30 minutes of sailing the Sea of Thieves and now sounds like he has Bronchitis?
THIS is the kind of thing I was hoping for with this update. I really wish you got rewards for staying at golden sands, maybe like a certain amount of gold or rep per hour stayed. That way there is a reward for guarding/occupying golden sands and encourages more battles there.
Sea Forts would've been great for something like that as well. Generating loot over time as you hold it, giving you a reason to defend and others a reason to attack it! But I guess that ship has already sailed
While I'm not too much of a fan of PvP (at least not with sweats or toxic players) and hate when some creators try and make everything about PvP, I still loved this video cause of the way you tell your stories and how it still wasn't *purely* about the PvP, it's about setting up traps for other players and thwarting their attempts to help Merrick (and bringing up how now it's a proper reason for reapers to stick together instead of just sinking one another). I may not like how the event is set up (It's way easier to donate to reapers than it is to golden sands thanks to GS being a hotspot) but you still made it sound enjoyable and help shed a bit of light for me on what it has potential to do
No, please, keep murdering each other. That's what Flameheart wants when he needs more mindless skeleton lords. Plus it gives us profiteers an opening to do some trolling.

Pretty sure it will stay sort of deserted when the reapers win :) also the reapers hideout is way too close to it for them to set another of those selling centres there

On the topic of new ships: I believe a way the devs could implement new ships without drastically changing the game is adding variants to each ship. For example the brig, they can bring in a 3 manned ‘Junk’ that has bow and stern cannons instead of broadside and is fastest in cross winds. Or maybe for the sloop they can add another 2 man ship the ‘flute’, which on spawn has barrels that are stocked with supplies, it isn’t particularly the fastest in any category but it has gunpowder barrels/fire barrels that can be thrown off the back to deter chasers

Doing it like a week later is kind of underwhelming no fights, I handed everything to be attacked at Golden sand but at that point, I was just looking for the journals. Then did it twice more yesterday without any PVP in sight. The readers were slightly more interesting than the Hunters since it had a lot more going on and different mechanics which made it more interesting. I am not really convinced it adds more to the PVP fights in the game but I was late to the party and after a week perhaps that's to be expected. Defeating AI ships in between felt more exciting to break up the monotonous gameplay.
6:00 soo.... one of the reasons you want to watch the outpost burn is cause of an npc that wasnt in the right place... ya thats about what id expect form a pirate so thats fun.
I am for save golden sand not because i like Merrick(i dont care about him). Golden Sands is my favorite outpost for the look and place. But another excelent video. 👍
