    Great video! I recently purchased my first Fujifilm camera (after decades of Canons) and your explanations were very helpful to adjust my jpg settings. I use my custom profiles mainly to compensate for the individual characteristics of the lenses I use. The 27mm pancake for example delivers way flatter images than the fast primes (and I use it a lot for street and travel), so I created my own custom setting to get everything back in line.

    Great Video ! Regarding Clarity, my workaround is as follows: I save my recipe with clarity. When I am doing streetphotography I switch to the CL burst-mode which is set to 5fps. This will disable clarity and I am not in a risk, missing a great shot. If I am not in a hurry and can take my time for composition (architecture, museum etc.) is switch back to single-shot mode and clarity will be applied.

    it is important to note that while many of the modern fuji cameras have the ability to add color shift to the white balance, very few allow you to store that red/blue value as part of your custom simulation setting. this was fixed in a firmware update on a few models (x100v, x-pro3 and x-t4) but is still missing from many models, such as the x-e3. since many custom recipes rely on white balance shift, it can be frustrating if your camera model doesn't have the ability to save those values for each custom sim.

    Great video, thank you. One small correction: Compressed RAWs have the exact same quality as uncompressed RAWs, as the compression is lossless. Compressed RAWs will take a bit longer to process in LR as the computer needs to unpack them, but other than that, they are exactly the same as uncompressed.

      I don’t own the camera but below are a couple of guesses
      Is it the mode dial set to auto?
      Raw only reducing settings?
      On some camera the burst mode stops some settings

  • @georgelsla7421
    @georgelsla7421 ปีที่แล้ว

    Which camera would you recommend for a partially colorblind person like me

  • @mikafoxx2717
    @mikafoxx2717 หลายเดือนก่อน

    For white balance, I like to set it to 5500k and leave it there for the slide film look. Slide film has no white balance unless you bring a warming or tungsten filter. I shoot with raw + jpeg because storage is cheap, and only keep the keeper raws I might want to edit one day, plus you can then reprocess in camera and change white balance afterwards if it was messed up

  • @Haerleif
