This was my grandmother's home. Would have loved to keep it but as you can see just the money to get it up to code... I don't recognize anything but a bush in the final model :(
This is my favorite flip! Love the 50's ranch style homes and this one has enormous rooms that are now open and make the space seem even larger. This would be so comfortable to live in. I do wish they had stayed authentic with mid century modern design.
Great content as usual, I loved this as I am about to invest in uk property with 70k deposit (plus fees and more savings for furnishing and decorating) to buy my own place, but I am also treating it as my fourth investment, having two spare rooms for lodgers to cover this property mortgage and tax costs... and to build my equity whilst working my day job for my next investment.
First, Debbie you need to have a salary of at least 25k before you will be considered for a mortgage, that you need for properties. If you want to achieve a 75 percent yield yearly, try looking out for an investing advisory or else you will be competing against professionals themselves.
Generating returns are usually phenomenal. What would have been really interesting would be a proper breakdown showing their costs , services, investors return..
That's an intentional way to live Jessica, that's the only way to become debt free. I've already paid off two previous mortgages. Now I'm working on my third and I cannot wait since it has to happen before retirement in four years and I'm already getting there the proficient way, Luckily for me my trader and coach Frost Hilda has been using every opportunity to ensure I benefit from each turn the market takes. Good luck staying debt free as much as possible in the future.
Absolutely Zachary, contract agreement splits are favorable, I’m also exceptionally well positioned as I’m privy, so that’s a good return deal for any investors creating revenue for more interest.
I'm from the UK as well and I'm currently overpaying my mortgage each month with money from investing. I'm on a no buy this year and my goal is to have my mortgage paid off in under 3years, hopefully sooner, so I appreciate and am forever open to receiving tremendous amount of value to achieve my target.
Here's the thing: Christina is the designer and she knows what she's doing. The construction guy needs to keep his opinions to himself, because construction guys are not designers even if they think they are. If you watch Chip and Joanna Gaines, you'll notice that Chip just does what Joanna says, because he respects her talent.
I don't know how long you've been watching Tareq and Christina, but I believe, they often seek their project managers and contractors' perspective when they discuss reconfiguring layouts of flips.
If you don't like the intrinsic style of a house, maybe you should buy another house. I really don't understand when somebody buys a house like this and tries to make it something inside that it isn't! You don't like mid-century modern? Buy something else. I think Christina is very limited in her design potential anyway. They all look the same.
The furniture won t actually stay once sold, it s just to give prospective buyers an idea of how the house would look once furnished. I can definitely see some mid century vibes in the whole architecture though.
Love the updated 50s homes. This is pretty, but it ain't mid century modern. I lived and loved the 50s, but they're in business to make money, so they do a good job at flipping.
Kitchen is big enough for casual dining area. So, I would close off a transitional formal dining area instead of open layout again. I really don't want to see into a kitchen or have the smells escape.
I really don't understand the obsession with "kitchen open to the living room". Why would people like the smell of fried onions, cold fat, or fish and the noise of kitchen appliances when they sit down to relax, talk, or read? I do get the idea of a kitchen/diner, but I'm all for a separate closed-off living room.
The inside of the house is so Beautiful! But I rather the Front yard and the front of the house BEFORE. It's too plain looking and cheaper looking now.
I wish the camera didn't switch the view so quick. It be an ever better program and show buyers at least one Comp or give a little info. Price for square foot and telling at least the city.
Why does the kitchen have to be open to the living room? Those floors are NOT hardwood. The wall is gone, but the kitchen is exactly the same size... She complained about the two-room master bath and yet it is still divided into two rooms... Why the stark white exterior in every house they do?
Open plan kitchen/living area is still popular. Most people want it like that. Once upon a time kitchens were separate from the living areas because people had servants or the wife wanted privacy while cooking (maybe to hide mess too). My theory is open plan reflects the fact that whoever cooks can still feel part of the family life. It’s more inclusive and nowadays cooking isn’t just one person’s assumed role (ie the wife). And even if the wife is still the main cook, open plan doesn’t make her feel like a slave hidden out the back. Now the whole family can see what work goes on in preparing and cooking meals.
That house is nice dont get me wrong, but were it is at makes it so expensive..... Were I live you can get a 2 story house on the lake for a million $$
I would like to know where is the laundry room, at that price there should be one, can't see the people who live in that house going to the laundromat.
Only in USA you can buy a 60 yo house with a plan NOT to rewire it :D :D kind of shocking. So you buy 1mln $ house with old plumbing and electricity.. cool.
So the initial walk thru wasn't complete and the electrical was overlooked. The original mid century was not utilized. I do like the primary bedroom en suite. Someday these two will do the cabinet hides for the kitchen, hiding the fridge and dishwasher behind cabinet doors.
They put in a fridge because they were asking over a million for the house. They put a fridge in every house they did that they sold for over a million (until a million became a normal selling price for OC, California; then, they upped the ante on what counts as a luxury property).
Worst show in terms of salvaging anything.. full length mirrors just broken down.. I think someone should consider integrating salvage guys with this destruction..
@@qfason5836 I agree with you it is much better to have a separate kitchen even this retro kitchen it looks interesting and different her design is bit boring every house looks very similar she needs new ideas and designs changes. Greetings from Serbia 🇷🇸
Exactly! I don't want valuable art or furniture to absorb smells, etc. from kitchen. Leaving the kitchen door and instead placing an exterior dining/entertaining area makes more sense, especially when guests use the pool.

And sadly is totally missing from their bathrooms. I watch this show (and others) on YT to practice my English), and my feeling is that most part of houses they flip has no character. @ Janet Becker. I think the owner will have been happy. Bank the money, with none of the stress about the costs of electrical update, waiting four months to complete the renovation etc. That level of pressure and decision making is not for everyone 😉

The house is gorgeous! Will love to know how much it was sold for!!!!
@Digby Dooright not practical. you can get a lot more beautiful homes for this price
Beautiful but, where is the vent for the stove in the middle island? It looks like they took it out.

I really like this house too! It is more elegant and I think it still has that 1950's feel in a modern way. Which I love, love love
Agreed on the video cropped too soon. However, loving the end-to-end being 10 minutes. Great time to keep a captive audience!
The master bath tile is so pretty!!!!! Love it.

I don’t understand why they have to destroy everything in demo. It does no take long to unscrew the kitchen cabinets from the walls. What a waste.
Lovely house. Let’s just knock all the walls down
That's what they always do.

Is that house located in Mesa Verde (Costa Mesa)?
It always cracks me up to watch the demo...so dramatic.
yeah and the fake shock he got from the pool
I wonder if a 1950s house like this one would be protected as a historic property
Being well under 100 years old I wouldn't think it would be considered historic yet like a car would.
I wish they would show the taxes.
Abrupt ending...
They know they're stepping into an original 1950s house but apparently need to state the obvious "needs all new carpet, needs all new tile". Duh

Their color palette is always gray and white.
What's the end result 😢
It was sold for the listing price of $1,149,000
