I have just discovered you, Luke. I'm delighted to have met you. Never watched/ listened to anyone so engaging, professionally prepared, with such a lovely accent and voice. So natural, humorous, full of teaching ideas and quality content. I'm a 63-year-old former teacher of English from Italy. I retired last year and was worried about not having so many opportunities to be exposed to English constantly (no cultural exchanges, international courses, stays abroad...) Thank goodness I have found you!
Luke, you organically fitted in with the topic of conversation. Your blush and insightful questions make you a sincere and involved interlocutor. Thank you very much!
When one of the best communicators I've ever met tells us that he blushes when he speaks, it makes me feel like we're all the same and a little more confident in myself and my way of conveying information in the language I'm learning. Thank you for getting down to our level. This is really motivating!! 🌈🌈
Thanks! I have only watched one episode so far, but I enjoyed the topic and your guest. Even though he carefully chose his words to make things easy to understand he is not coming across as superior or treating the audience like we are narrow-minded. That is pretty rare for educational English videos
I usually listen to your podcast while walking my dog in the evening. I think it's very interesting and I learn a lot. Thank you very much. Greetings from Spain 😊
Hi Luke! Thank you for releasing another excellent episode, it was interesting as usual. Your podcast is not only great for listening practice, but it’s also educational. I learn something from you and your guests every time. It’s great that you talked about blushing, because that often happens to me when I speak publicly. I won’t feel bad about it anymore 😁
My goal now is to fully understand what people mean, when they speak. To native speakers more harder to communicate with beginner, because they don't know our passive dictionary. It's a hell of misunderstanding. So, listening skills are on the first place. Using our poor active dictionary we can explain almost everything. It's longer, but I believe native speakers will find the strength to understand us)
Hi, this is very useful to me because I could learn what was never heard for life, so I will apply his lessons to my daily talking to my people. Thank you, Mat! Thank you, Luke, for the great podcast!
Thank you , I really like to watch This podcast I need practice my comunication in this moment. And I need a Lot of work Yet for talk and whrite better.
Thanks to you and Matt.To me this podcast was very useful.Matt looks like friendly. Finally both of you are 'a real person's.I mean not synthetic. So it worths.Have a nice life
Hi. The way you conduct the podcast is excellent. Thank you for your contribution to improve the English language of non native speakers of English. Wishing you all the best from Sri Lanka.
I am raving about your podcast! Your speaking help me much! I widely praise your audio to my learning English friends. And I regullary listen your arhieve records every day while I am getting the workplace.
I can totally relate to the challenges non-native speakers face. I also found the tips very practical, and I’m going to incorporate them. Kudos to Teacher Luke for his tireless efforts to help us improve our English. Additionally, I’m captivated by Matt Abraham and plan to subscribe to his channel
This video does a great job in tips of learning how to think fast and talk smart. For me, it insightfully highlights the differences between British and American accent. Now I know the reason why the British accent that I have been trying to imitate doesn’t flow smoothly while speaking and it sounds like a Rap song with fluctuation. In fact, it does have that kind of nature when it is put on a conversation, even when the language is spoken by a native speaker. Thank you Luke.❤
This video was suggested to me and I am glad I clicked to watch it. Excellent conversation between two very good communicators. You have such a cool, posh British accent. I'll be following you from now on.
Despite being a quite self-confident person, I've been struggling with blushing all my life, so I can really understand your feelings. The worst thing however, is when someone suddenly tells you 'Oh look, you're blushing!' ...and the more they tell you the redder you become 😞
I see that there is no the best teacher forever. It depends on many factors. At the moment Luke is the only one who I can listen to. His voice, his manner of speaking and, what is the most important, his attitude. So, I am very happy to find this podcast. His ‘English Stories’ part is amazing.
I had a problem getting enough breath due to anxiety while reading a ballad at school which was also being recorded in order to be discussed later. Well, I messed it up and suffered terribly. Thankfully, the teacher pretended the tape was broken. But the incidence had its consequences and affected my readiness to actively take part in classroom discussions or perform in public. It has always taken me much energy to raise my voice. So, I listened with great interest to your conversation. I thought I was mistaken when I noticed your blush. I really loved it when you had the courage to talk about it later. Chapeau!
Thank you Luke for having him to broaden my perspectives, and also for revealing what's happening in real English communication. I can't agree more that focusing on genuine, meaningful communication is the key of speaking.
I think I am the worst of speakers, because of my worse communication. When I start speaking my whole body shakes, I am getting sweat, blushing and even my voice is shaking. But this video is the best one and can really help me with my speaking. Thanks, Luke is the best podcaster.❤❤❤
Truly speaking, he has communicated essential information that is indispensable for the language learners who want to become spontaneous and confident speaker
This episode came out at the best moment to me, I'm practicing for the TOEFL and besides tomorrow I have a job interview in English and I was really nervous overthinking about how perfect I should be to not mess up this. It was a great way to relax. Thank goodness I don't blush (hope so).
Your podcasts are so much fun and even more so, interesting. I learn from you not only about the English language, which I have a great interest in, but about so many other subjects. And in addition, the range of topics is definitely diverse. For me, your podcasts are like a book, even if it's thick, you don't want it to end. Because it is so interesting and therefore we want it to continue. That was the case today when I heard your conversation with Matt Abraham, which was very instructive and insightful. Many of the things that were said are also relevant to me personally, but I was glad that the podcast did not end at the end of the conversation with him, but you continued the conversation with us listeners, summarized and explained and gave your own insights. I would like to point out that, as always, in this podcast as well, you expanded on your personal position on the subject and today it was the fact that you are always blushing. It's exactly the same with me and your explanations made me understand something about myself, that it's okay to blush, I don't need to think too much about it and understand that it also happens to people with a lot of experience who don't even know why they blush. I realized that the reason for blushing is not necessarily because I am ashamed or uncomfortable. This insight will allow me to be more relaxed in my further future engagements with people. Thank you very much for that too. I wish that you will continue to interest me and others as well, as you have done so far with great success.
Hello Luke, nice episode of your podcast I liked it. Yes, I believe that blushing is most of the time inevitable for all of us both in great pubblic speaking and in private as well, right? 😊 This episode is packed of useful and usable pieces of advice indeed and I listened to it for the entire lenght. I'm saying that because I'm trying to give to my speaking practice and time spent with speaking English a boost and, I'm trying to start to break the egg-shell I'm in!😅 And because your work here with these podcast is so well done and it arrives straight at each of us as learners. I will try to use them all in my practice. Thank you!🙏

Definitely Mr Abrahams knows perfectly well what he's talking about. Being myself a Spanish person I never, when I speak English, try to sound as I was a BBC speaker.. Which put my anxiety off while I'm speaking.. And Secondly never thinking about the grammar mistakes that my conversation would derive... Meaning, thinking fast, speaking faster and getting my message across... Thanks so much for this helpful Video and congratulations to both of you 👍
Hi Luke, thanks for this very instructive episode, you made my day! Mastering the art of communication is key whatever the context. In my opinion, loving people is a good start and a given if you want to feel comfortable especially when it comes to teaching - obviously! But getting to know all these handy techniques and using them properly is a plus to upskill, isn't it?
