    Hello from Hong Kong!
I wanted to express my appreciation for this fantastic episode. It has truly been one of the best so far. I'm looking forward to revisiting it when I'm back in the office. Over the past six months, I've been listening to this channel during my weekly hiking sessions, and it has been a great source of inspiration and knowledge.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Matt and the entire team for consistently delivering such high-quality content. Your hard work and dedication are truly commendable. Please keep up the excellent job!
Thank you once again, and I eagerly anticipate future episodes.

With all due respect asking intriguing questions may ruin a first date. When two people are getting to know each other; they expect to be aware of the basic-vital information such as career, profession, address, hobbies, aspirations, daily routine, etc. If someone plays such a riddle; they may discourage the other person from pursuing the other one's love.
Such an intriguing question game can be played when two people know quite enough about each other, and they wish to know more details about. That would awaken each person's curiosity when trying to nail the right guess about each one's life, so in consequence they will get more sympathetic.
In short, in order to be good communicators; first we must be good listeners.

The pre-communication or priming is really a game-changer. This is often overlooked in conversations and I believe this is a great power of a great communicator. This is beautiful discussion. Thank you for this.

Listen, Listen, Listen: How to Build Deep Connections
1.Don't be a data collector, turn it into an intriguing guessing game.
    2.Start and end small talk:
(1)Making an observation about something in your environment.
(2)Ending your conversation with this tactic like, I have one last question, and then giving a compliment.
3.Advices in romantic or professional context in the same:
(1)Focus on how you make someone feel more than you focus on the words that you're saying.
(2)Lean into others' stories, their credentials and you could give comments
(3)Demonstrating that you're interested in someone and that you like them
(4)Have genuine curiosity, "I'd like to learn more."
    4.The effect of humor:
    (1)Use light banter.
(2)Do not use too much humor.
    5.Some bad conversation habits:mirror, interrupting
    6.Three more questions:
    (1)Ask for feedback.
(2)Set the tone for a gathering before it even begins.(Arts of Gathering, by Priya Parker)
    (3)Most important ingredient in a successful communication:listening

I mat my a old friend yesterday. She looks different in mentally and physically. I realized immediately, so I am trying to make her in a important position, trying make her feel good. I am not a relationship person. But I also improve myself on this. During the time with her I am adjusting my position all the time, trying my best to make her feel good and successful like what she actually wanted receive from me I think. So I consider this date is 60% successful maybe. I know I am trying. So can anyone make a conclusion to this? Deeper on this it requires us to have a certain level of mindset right?

  • @ahmedibrahim9022

I agree with you guys, however, I just wanna add that those tips she talked about are really helpful only on the first to second date, but if you're going to persue a long term relationship or friendship you are more likely to get back to your normal social interacting intelligence as it's deeply engraved in your mind since childhood, and I really believe that you as a normal person you shouldn't face many challenges while interacting otherwise you may have to see a healthcare provider, idk what do you think?😊

I am not sure that her first example of introduction leads the conversation to the right direction. When people do small talk for such introduction, they want to get to know each other quickly who they are. This is a kind of screening. When you start to make quiz about yourself, this could be very annoying to the counterpart and could lead to mistrust. Then first impression cannot be worse than this.

@12:10 do not use the "tell me more" because this sounds intrusive or like an FBI is collecting evidance against you. First, give more information and then ask: what do you think? This doesnt sound intrusive at all. If anyone say to me: tell me more I would stop talking to them, that is situational - I m from Syria and we Syrians in North America looked at differently, give me more info so I can use against you...! All my co-workers in Tyco of Boca Raton Florida wanted to collect info about me and pass it to the FBI and stupid company investigater, Farla Steinberg. Be nice, be kind and be pollite.

In todays talks, one must be carful with the words they use specially with new immigrants - with the war around and things changing very fast you can not make mistake and fix it later. Once a mistake is made there is no way back and this may translate into war, divisions and conflicts, we dont want wars cause we are fed up with stupid wars.

This was terrible advice to build deep connections. There’s nothing boring to any kind of question. By starting off that way you already fail in establishing a deep connection

    • @thanhmainguyen5747
      @thanhmainguyen5747 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I can't agree more with you on that l. Her views on asking normal questions such as what do u do? is quite wrong. It's completely normal about it. The basic info about one's background is of great imprortance indeed. But she also gave valueable tips on how you can answer to these questions in an interesting manner, which definitely make the conversation more fun.
