    It's Weird, Intel version MacBook Air despite it's problem with Thermal and Performance, it still able to do multiple display connection
    Unlike M1 and M2 version

    Excellent comparison on those 3 MacBooks. I have the M1 base version and love it. By the way I think there’s a mistake on the Final Cut Export Speed Graphic that you showed. The i5 showed the same time speed as the M1 even though you explained correctly.

      @@JerrySchulze I have the 2018 MBA, since launch day. It works perfectly fine but doesn’t feel as snappy anymore. I recently got an M1 iPad Pro 11”. I’m am trying to decide if I should get the Magic Keyboard to replace my laptop or if I should upgrade my MBA. So I’m checking out you videos to help me decide.

    After 18 months of using an Apple Refurbished 2020 M1 MacBook Air with 16GB memory, 1TB storage, and the full 8/8/16 core M1 SOC, I have to conclude it is a phenomenal little computer. If I didn't have this, I would buy an M2 Air with the same memory and storage, but the 8/10/16 core M2 SOC. However, the M1 I have is so good, I'll probably wait until there is an M4 version to upgrade!

    very nice review. The quality of your videos (content, visual, and audio) is the best out there. I couldn't be happier with M2 Air and any CalDigit hub (I have a USB-C and a smaller pot-count Thunderbolt) are superb.

    Caldigit is absolutely the Cadillac of the TB4/USB4 docks. The only negative is... price 🙂I absolutely agree Jerry, in 2023 a laptop should no longer sport 8Gb. If you only did it for future proofing. With Ventura I already see the use on my own 16" which I will upgrade this year. Apple trade in is an absolute joke. My wife has the M1 MBA with the upgrades (16Gb 1Tb SSD) and she absolutely loves it. Anyway the prices in Canada are out of this world right now, it is pretty bad.

    I currently have a 2018 Intel MacBook Air and for a casual user like me, it is definitely more than enough. M1 and M2 would be faster but it doesn’t really affect me. I only want the m2 because of the new design HAHAHA not worth the upgrade yet

  • @driver288
    @driver288 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seems like the M1 really is the one to get if you are getting the base spec and do Normal office stuff and light video editing even before the M2. And you save a pretty penny too. It demonstrates the giant leap Apple silicon represents and the minor speed increase the second gen gives. Not sure how long they’re going to sell the M1 after the M3 arrives so get one while you can!

    • @epcalderhead
      @epcalderhead ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. Just picked up the base M1 Air new for $749. Refurbs are still $849! As a second computer for couch surfing and taking on the road, this computer is amazing me. My 2015 13" MBP could no longer play my GoPro files, so that was the reason that pushed me. I can even do my FCP videos on this Air.

    REQUEST FOR INFORMATION TO ALL COMMENTATORS :
    I have never found an answer to this question which is so important for me and which I am going to ask you here, hoping that other people who have used the MacBook Air M1 for more than a year can answer too. I need this answer before I decide to buy the MacBook Air M1.
    My question is: during the great sweltering heat of summer (heat waves), in a house or accommodation without air conditioning (only a traditional fan ) has anyone noticed (in this specific context) that the MacBook Air M1 heats up a lot more and therefore slows down or loses its fluidity when listening to videos on TH-cam for example? (since there is no fan inside).
    My intended type of usage is : different views of videos on youtube (or on news sites), text writing, Email, Twitter, Facebook, occasionally small video montages of clips of 2 minutes maximum in 1080p or cutting videos found on youtube to extract a short extract.
    THANK YOU EVERYONE

    Last question : do is the difference in image quality of the screen (except of course the size of the screen) really very big and obvious between a Macbook AIR (M1, M2) and a Macbook Pro M1 (14 or 16 inches) ? Theoretically certainly (since mini-led and higher refresh rate) but CONCRETELY is this difference visible ?

    • @JerrySchulze
      @JerrySchulze  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For resolution no, IMO. They are all high res displays. The pro does have better color support and more brightness. I have no issues recommending the display on the m1 air.

      Oh, reassuring. Thank you.
      But in same time I see about the screen of Macbook Pro 14 inches :
      - Pro Display XDR ("Extreme Dynamic Range brings refined specular highlights, incredible detail in shadows, and vibrant, true‑to‑life colours")
      - 1000 nits and Mini-Led's
      - Pro Motion with refresh rates up to 120Hz
      (many say the sound quality is much better on the 14 inch macbook pro).

    • @paulwoaert
      @paulwoaert ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JerrySchulze I saw in analyzes of the macbook pro 14 and 16 that these screens had much less reflections than that of the Macbook Air M1 and that it is a mini LED. The refresh rate is also much higher.
