Thanks so much for an awesome video, your production is amazing. Quickly: m2 camera: clearer, improved colors. Audio: noticeably clearer while using camera. Video: clearer and brighter display. M2 generally better performance for applications where buying an Air makes sense. Higher intensity uses - buy a MBP.

Yours was the video that helped me to decide to go for the M1 vs the M2. I really wanted the gold color, but was afraid I'd be sacrificing too much in terms of long-term daily-use performance (no rendering) and features. Seems to not be the case! Thank you, now I can get the color I actually wanted without worry ^^

Love the midnight blue color. Midnight blue very close to "Back to Black". If I was going to purchase the new M2 Laptop with no name on it that Apple called MacBook Air it would be midnight blue color.
When the Apple MacBook Air first came out, and Steve pulled it out of the interoffice envelopes with string 10x13 I though I would get this in a heartbeat if I only had a need for a laptop. Still do not have real need for a laptop, however last March when Apple did not come out with a 27-inch 5K M1 iMac I purchased a M1 MackBook Air, and 27-inch 5K VESA mount/arm as my replace for my 2014 5K 27-inch iMac.
My hope is that Apple keeps the Jony, and Steve design around as a SE entry level $ 999.00 version of the MacBook Air. Just keep it with the previous version M series SOC for normals who just do things like eMail, surf the web, and watch your TH-cam type clips.
The loss to the link, to one of the Steve moments during presentations will hurt if Apple does not keep the original MacBook Air design around.

And I assume that the fast charger will work just as well on the M1 MBA, wouldn't it? Love your vids!- but on your next video could you just hold it in different possess to get a sense of the look and feel? Maybe one where you hold it on your side, next to your hip, like you hold a book when you are walking to class. And maybe another one holding it up against your chest like a 50’s girl waiting near her locker talking about her crush… hopefully this made sense. Thank you in advance.

Im planning to upgrade my early 2015 Macbook air, and I'm not sure if I should get the M1 or the M2. M1 is appealing to me because it's definitely cheaper. While M2 is appealing to me because of the magsafe and of course future proofing.

I like the M2 , I had originally ordered the Midnight version , however, after visiting the Apple store today, and looking the actual device, I did not like at all the fingerprints were all over that device and did not look good at all, so, I cancelled that order and ordered the starlight instead, aside the fingerprint issue, that color is really nice (at least for my taste)

I have a pro for music and graphics. I wanted an Air for writing and general use, and for me, the M1 is so much better. M1 feels like it targets a different audience, the slant is very nice for writing, and I think the design is much nicer. M2 just feels like a less significant version of the Pro, and now it's only about 100 quid cheaper than a 13" pro, so whats the point in it?

I currently have a 2017 MacBook Air and am now ready to upgrade to Apple Silicon. I think I would be fine with either the M1 or the M2 since they would both give me far better performance than I currently have, but would it be better to just go for the M2 since it’s the most recent and will last longer?

    • @CalvinP420

If money isn't a factor, get the M2 Air. Otherwise the M1 is phenomenal enough. Both the M1 and M2 are currently still being sold brand new from Apple so the M2 won't really last any longer.

Even if have to buy a new mackbook i would go for 16gb m1 MBA rather than m2 MBA base model and still save some money with little bit better product overall.

Great video, thank you! The webcam quality is obviously much better in M2 though, this difference is usually seen in low light from what I've observed in another youtube clip, your side-by-side video helped me confirm this, and I'm surprised that your commentary didn't seem to agree with what's obviously seen. Yes, both are bad compared to iPhone for example, but between M1 and M2, M2 is clearly better, M1 is full of blurry digital artefacts.
