@@sallyyfacee never even had a filling. You seriously think i envy peoples ability to be injected in the gum, rather than actual useful skills they have lol
I have found that for whatever reason, I REALLY like the shot 😭 I find the pressure really satisfying, and especially like the ones where you hear it squeak a bit.
Im the non bothered 😭 tbh when i took the shot it felt like a slight pinch releasing water or weird stuff inside my gums, and while removing the tooth i didnt feel a thing except just a free space 😭
it doesn’t hurt at all, had them multiple times and never felt pain, you only feel like something is touched your gum while they’re injecting it but no pain.
My dentist does this thing where he wiggles your cheek rapidly as he does it and you honestly dont feel anything. Oh and he says "big wiggles, big wiggles" as he does it🤣
Dr. Tawfiq is AMAZING!!!! I don’t even feel the slightest pinch when he injects the Novocain…yes he uses numbing gel but previous dentists who’ve used it on me I would still feel the injection.
I would probably be the screamer with that horse needle. Thank goodness someone invented The Wand - it's amazing. My previous dentist had one and it got me over my phobia of these shots instantly - assuming it was used. Went from having to be completely knocked out to being able to tolerate shots using The Wand in conjunction with nitrous, and then not too long after being able to have even a simple extraction done with just local (using The Wand of course). Sadly, he died recently, so when I was looking for a new dentist, that's the first thing I looked for. Every dentist should have one - even if it isn't used on all patients. My previous dentist only used it when it was requested. The dentist I ended up going to uses it 100% of the time, but that's not all that often because she has a Solea laser as well - and local isn't required in the vast majority of cases where it is used. Even if dentists aren't keen on using The Wand 100% of the time, I think it should always be used for those normally awful palatal injections, as well as on children, phobic patients, and really any other time it's requested.
I mostly don't react, but about 16 years ago I had one hit the nerve dead center under my mouth and my right arm shot up and hit the dentist's elbow in reaction. Thankfully I am now with better dentists.
I’m the needs distractions type. If they don’t give me nitrous at the dentist before numbing my mouth I will be like what are you doing? What are you doing?😅
Im a silent crying and the knuckle holder 😭🙏🏽 When I was 7 I cried when getting a needle and they tried distracting me by saying they like my butterfly crocs 😭
I’m the loud cryer, heart rate go really high. Any sort of oral sedation doesn’t work on me like Ativan . Glad I don’t have to do this anymore as I just had all teeth removed under sedation and will have dentures.
I JUST had a tooth pulled yesterday and I think I'm the white knuckler lol. She asked if I wanted a stress ball 😂 I'll die before I ever sit back down to get a tooth pulled lol that SUCKED
My dentist as she's injecting the shot will take a hold of some nearby skin( with the work I've had done it's been either my lip or she'll take a hold of my mouth with the non-needle hand ) and she gently shake it a little as she's doing it. Helps me out immensely.
Im either the not bothered or the white knuckle. Just depends on who's doing the shot. I can't even feel it when my regular dentist does it b/c he uses the really tiny needles and numbs your gums first. The endodontist that I saw today did hurt, but I didn't make any noise or move lol
I always ask before I do so, but I put headphones on, play some music and tap my thumbs to my fingers counting as I go with my eyes closed, needles are a massive fear of mine, dentist too, put those together and I’m a total wreck so I do what I can to put myself at ease while also trying not to be difficult for the dentist. The more difficult you are, the longer the session will be.
My dentist has magic hands I swear. I am not good with needles and when I saw that big bugger I panicked lol. He was doing breathing exercises with me and I literally didn’t notice the first shot. I had to ask him If he did it 😂. Once the numbness kicked in he gave me the second. I think he even gave me a little extra just to make sure. Lol😅. I can see why he claims to be pain free dentistry
I just had a root canal and crown down - I got 19 shots in my mouth. The first few? great - then I was the knuckler, then I was the silent crier festering with so much animosity - then the dude went straight into it! I was lightheaded as fuck and my chest felt like it was collapsing and he just kept apologizing saying "I can't just stop now". The most traumatic dental experience but hey - I appreciate the work done 😅
