I work at a pediatric dentist office and let me tell you this is a good visit. It typically doesn't go just like this though. There's usually plenty of plaque, calculus, or stain to scale off the kids' teeth. As much as I'd like to say all we do is polish, kids have similar needs to adults' needs. Plus you usually are coping with active, talking, crying, screaming, complaining patients so trying to clean the teeth like you would an older patient is always a fun challenge but nevertheless I'm always up for it.

Ideally the first dental visit should be at the baby’s 1st birthday (first year). This allows the child to be familiar with the dental clinic environment early on and lower the chances or rejection or God forbid psychological trauma to the child. Nonetheless, the dentist or hygienist did a great job explaining and presenting everything to both the mom and the child. Healthy teeth forever yayy 👶🏻 🍼

i'm training to be a dental assistant and you really don't want to have patients close on the suction, it can cause the stuff from the tube to come back into your mouth when you close on it

I thought that the toothpaste that they use at the dentist was fake plaque and I hated the taste of the water that the dental hygienist squirted in my mouth
i got acavity today teeny tiny on the surface so i didnt need any laughing gas or being numbed they just went through it doesnt hurt the nasty part was i think when they do the filling well it doesnt hurt if u have that same thing so nothing to cry about like i did :) m 9 to

If something is called a 'tooth tickler' it might make them feel calmer since they are told the tool tickles. Simple as that, has nothing to do with pretending kids are morons.
I'm pretty sure not everything hurts at the dentist.I know it doesn't. And if something is about to happen the dentist will inform the child they 'might feel a little poke'. At least a good dentist isn't going to do something without explaining what's going on first. I'm honestly surprised I'm having this silly conversation. :O
