    Thanks for another great video Luke. Stay humble man. That's one of the things I really like about you and Rod. As your channel and presence in the Jeep world have grown, you guys are still the same 'ol guys. It's a good look!

    Nailed the unique factor. That’s what puts it in my top 5 favorite garage built Jeeps!

    I see 6.0, 4l80e and rear steer in your future. Motobuilt has stuff for stretched jeeps.

      😳😳 rear steer would be wild!! Now that you mention it, that wouldn’t be a bad idea😂

    Maybe just stroke the 4.0 I did mine and it really surprised me.

    Would be pretty easy to cut some canvas (or sunbrella) panels add snaps for your bed rack to make a soft cap

    • @BuiltDifferentGarage
      @BuiltDifferentGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've thought about that! I would want it to look as oem as possible

      @@BuiltDifferentGarage they a boat canvas replacement shop or an awning shop. There are a few construction companies around me that have them made for ladder racks around me

    I have a 00 TJ with the 2.5L, that is the thing I hate about my Jeep... need I say more? lol When I do road trips I do not take highways lol I wish there was some easy way to get more power

    It is great you know what you want to change on your jeep to make it better.When you make big changes on a vehicle there is gonna be pros and cons from changing.But it is good experience doing what your doing with all the builds your doing.I think a hemi would be awesome, makes me think of my fav car the 69 charger.Thanks for the quick update on the jeep.Just though of it have you looked into different seats to make them more comfortable.remember have fun

    • @BuiltDifferentGarage
      @BuiltDifferentGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are absolutely right! A hemi would be nice and I have done a lot of research on a hemi swap. I have come close to buying new seats a few times but I'm just not sure what I want to go with yet.

    • @BuiltDifferentGarage
      @BuiltDifferentGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Gears have a lot to do with the performance. Right now its got 5.13 and if I knew I was going to keep the 4.0 then I would re gear to 5.38s

    Yo. You have a great Jeep.. and you did a great job. There should not be any Hate things out if you. There are a bunch of us that have thought of doing the same thing. But life won't let us. I have a 91 yj. 3 1/2 in leaf suspension. 8.8 Ford rear. Suky Dana 30 in the front.A Chevy 4.3 v6 and a Muncy SM 420 rock crusher. Fully professionally rebuilt. I WOULD TRADE THAT FOR AN AUTOMATIC. OH 35 X15 (HARD TO FIND TIRES )
    BUT I love it !

    Jku love the space inside but dislike not having a place to carry stuff outside of the passenger compartment easily. Like trash and fumey things. End up needing jerry cans and trasharoos etc... to make doo

    • @BuiltDifferentGarage
      @BuiltDifferentGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed! There are always going to be pros and cons to every build/vehicle. Finding what works best is the fun part haha

    Stroker 4.0! Will do a burnout with those tires. Add a turbo too.
    I had a 91 YJ with 4.0 and manual 5 speed and “32 inch tires and it was actually fast. I now have an LJ with 4.0 and auto and slightly larger tires and it is slow.
    How about a 6spd?

    • @BuiltDifferentGarage
      @BuiltDifferentGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A stroker 4.0 is something I have looked into. I have also thought about manual swapping this Jeep but I'd rather wait to figure out my engine choice!

    Engine swap a once Keizer engine the 1998 Supercharged Buick Riviera 3.8. It's unique and fits easily.

    Have you re-geared the axles? With those 40''s....I would guess 4:88-5:13's would be best

    • @BuiltDifferentGarage
      @BuiltDifferentGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I have 5.13s right now. If I knew I was going to keep the 4.0 forever then I would go with 5.38s. 5.13s and an LS would be a good combo for thus setup

    I admire the work but the proportions of the bed are straight out useless as a truck.

    • @BuiltDifferentGarage
      @BuiltDifferentGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I never planned on hauling anything with it besides camping and wheeling gear so yeah I’d say if you’re comparing it to a “truck” then yes the bed is useless. I will never put a piece of plywood or a 2x4 in the bed haha

    • @codyrockwood15
      @codyrockwood15 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, that's because it's not a truck.

    I think you mentioned in another video, but what is your wheelbase now? And why is the turning radius so bad?

    • @BuiltDifferentGarage
      @BuiltDifferentGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wheelbase is 117” now. I think the length, size of the tires and larger axles have played a role in the turning radius not being as good as it was on the stock tj

      @@BuiltDifferentGarage ok, so the same wb as a JKU. Full width 1tons 69-71"? Yeah all those factors do it. Just wondered if your lock to lock changed a lot or stayed roughly the same. btw, great rig!
