  • In this W2W episode coming to you from Ryan's Rowdy Ranch we watch three different Jeep Wrangler TJs with three different off road tire sizes drive the same line of obstacles. This back to back to back comparison of the Jeep Wrangler TJ platform allows us to see just how much more capable going up to the next tire size can make your rig.

Little less air pressure would make a huge difference, but over all nice job !!

It's always amusing seeing kids have come to the realisation lockers are the best upgrade. 30+ years ago I had them and would crawl where others with there 10's thousands of dollars of lifts, snorkels, bar work, couldn't. They refused to buy lockers back then of course because they didn't look cool. Oh how times have changed.

Nice. I just did a little feature of my Dad's "everyday TJ" build on my channel jeepNdirt and he's running 33's and open diffs, but very flexy. I've gotta get him to someplace like this next. lol. Good stuff.

35s ain’t too bad either… 33s and no lockers = no good for that off camber

how do you compare tire sizes when the builds are not apples to apples (?) - myself, currently running a 99 TJ Sport 4.0, Lifted to 3.5", 35x12.50 on 15's with a Dana 44 / 4.88 and rear lockers - seldom have issues where I'm going and with the crowd i run with

Im a 31 on 2 inch lift because I am The dummy that bought a 2.5. I’d say my Jeep is meh, but the old girl keeps conquering obstacles.

My friend has an XJ with 2.5 and 31s but it goes really everywhere. Sometimes it's more interesting that way because not everything is as simple as with big wheels. I also have an XJ 2.5, but turbo diesel, also at 31s. I'm debating whether to stay on the 31s or put on the 33s, but I'm having a lot of fun this way too.

@@V8AmericanMuscleCar I agree. If I had lockers I’d be much more capable. My main wheeling parter is a Diesel Rubi on 37’s. They never get stuck, I think I’m having more fun living on the edge of my jeeps abilities.

I've got one too, on 31s. This wasn't a comparison, since the jeep with the 33s had battery issues. You can bump over some pretty hairy stuff with open diffs. This video is a big fail in my view. All three Jeeps should be running. 😂

Big fail. A real comparison would be the Jeep with 33s actually running, without battery issues

    Hello , My Jeep TJ wrangler Sport Have Dana 35 and Dana 30 , can I put a size 35 .. ??? or is better 33 ?

Sorta depends on what you are doing to be doing with it. I’ve heard from plenty of people that 35s on the Dana 35 and 30 can put a lot of stress on the axle shafts when doing some rock crawling. 33s seem to be the comfortable spot with the Dana 35 and 30 when doing some extreme off road.

To rock crawl, you need to relax your tires and expand your grip!! A rudimentary driving habit that only causes a lot of damage to the power train!!
