We are ID.3 1st Edition owners. If we ever decide to change it will be for an ID.2All. We just don't need one of those oversize road barges from any manufacuturer.
I'm still crossing my finger that my Enyaq 80x will come with these upgrades. I had been told that production week is 35 aka last week. But it looks that i waited 15 month and just before updates i get mine with old stuff.
I think people will sell their ID'S when there is a new change in battery chemistry , until then i think most drivers are truely happy with their ID cars
Fair play they're rolling out these (much needed) improvements ... II do hope these new screens are available as a part that could be retrofitted to previous gen ID models (like my 2020 ID.3) ... Although possibly the new functionality on the haptic buttons might present a problem, but just fitting these screens would be such an improvement.
Was there no press release for this updates of ID4/5?
Very nice seeing that.. I got my ID4 Pro and it came already with ID Software 3.5 but it's not the samething.. It's very slow but better than the older versions.

I have an ID 5 with 3.2 software and it has bi-directional charging but battery life a question does the new software has it got (V2L) Vehicle to Load capability ? VW are missing out on this update it’s standard on many EVs now .
This makes me sad and happy -sad because it's at least 5 years before I could even dream of getting a 2nd hand one for a price I could pay. Happy because at least it's a reason why the existing ID5/4 should be a little less expensive 2nd hand. :-/
Did you figure out the software version in the tested car? My ID5 GTX 2024 is on the way home with 3.6 version so I am hoping that includes the new stuff from this video..

I’m wondering when these “facelift” models will reach the states… not that i don’t love my ‘21 ID4 pro s AWD 😸 these and the id7 have my attention. I do wonder if they will bring the HUD to non-Audi models though…
How can you turn off the overspeed warning? As I assume, this is automatically ON on every engine start (because of regulations), how many steps do you need to do to disable it every time, if you need to?

There are 2 options. ID.4 and ID.5 will get the 12.9 inch screen. ID.7 will have the 15 inch screen.
We really need to get the id6 in Europe. I would buy it straight away.

Yes, the Update in autumn will receive the New Motor from ID7 and MIB4 for the Infotainment...you can find Tons of Videos on YT about this

is that not a 13 inch screen? looks smaller than ID7's 15 inch one. Also has the interior been updated besides that? Because the new ID3 feels more premium than the current ID4 and 5.
Yes, this still has the 13 inch screen. Looking at the ID.7, the icon menu has six icons across. This new ID.5 only has five icons across. So it's the small display with new software. But it could be driven by faster processing and more memory.

@@BatteryLife yes but this new one has a 12,9 inch one. It says that on the promotional material at the end of the video as well.
But why restrict charging speed in the 77kwh 'performance' versions to 135kw?
It is not restricted. It is a different battery chemistry that charges differently. Les peak, but longer over 100 kW. I made videos about both.

No WLPT range with new motor is a bit better.

VW should really focus more on significantly improving efficiency an aerodynamics of their ID lineup. I’d expect a 160 Wh/km real consumption for ID.4 at highway speed, and 150 Wh/km for ID.3.
This is a huge upgrade. New screen, new software, new motor with a lot more HP, new shifter, premium stereo, new steering wheel...glad I didn't buy in the first three yrs. 2 yr wait to buy a car that's now being made obsolete?
Shows evs are now following the tech trends more closely. Every 2 or 3 years what you own is basically completely outdated. 🤔
@@4literv6 I think this particular redesign is quite a leap. It’s addressed a lot of glaring problems with the ID4/5. This is the one to lease. Not sure I’d buy though. Wait the 3 or 4 yrs and see where the market is.
And today you buy this one and it will be obsolete again. This isn’t really news is it

I agree tbh if possible leasing an ev and taking the tax credit if available and or favorable financing terms seems the prudent choice. 👍🏻
I dream about Id 8 - ID 7 with shape of Sharan, but slick and sexy - still with slidind doors. Id Buzz is to high, too heavy, but LWB version is very nice, practical.

European cars and especially EV’s are priced ridicoulus for moderate software and specs

Since I drove the id3 I really hate the interior and its handling . All these new touch surfaces are just dangerous to handle while driving.
Just unacceptable that older ID car already are left behind and are legacy, end of life software wise, for myself THE reason to never buy a MEB car
That happens to most other Cars as well. and who says that older Id cars won't get more software updates and the same features as this car.
I understand why you might pick this for content and for reasons of supporting German products, but I can’t see how something that’s already this dated and is relatively poor value for money is a good choice. Good luck whatever you decide. Always appreciate your content regardless.
It is not about that it is German. I like how I'd drive. The other carmakers can compete with that so far, unless extremely expensive ones.
