GTX and 4motion charging curve has been improved in 4.0 and actually charge faster to 60% than RWD.

Would be great to have a comparison between the different wheels (19" to 21") on the same car.

A Question: is the battery pack in Id7 the same as Id4 ? As in same chemistry and size?
Has VW limited the Id4 to give some separation to the higher spec Id7...
For a NMC pack in 2024 charging speed is a bit average!
I'd happily own a id4 and it's charging wouldn't be a limitation with the chargers where I live, not many over 150kw here.
    Thanks for the vid😊

    What temperature was outdoor?
    Was the battery preheated?

Hi! Other than their similar charging curve, what's the difference between iD4 with 3.1 software and iD4 4.0 in terms of 'real-life' consumption?

It's a Tritium charger what else is new and if they go totally bust only be a matter of time before any spares Ionity has runs out and chargers stop getting repaired until they do a full rip & replace project switching the hardware to another manufacturer perhaps Kempower or Alpitronics or ..?? Just not ABB as Bjorn calls them Always Be Broken. Looks like 70% is where you unplug and move on based on that charging curve.

What temperature does it preheat to, is it about 25C?

The CATL prismatic battery charges "slow" but steady. 🤷

There is actually no real improvement in charging compared to our 2022 id.4 with software 3.2, except for the preconditioning.
    That's a big dissapointment

  • @thomash5342
    @thomash5342 หลายเดือนก่อน

The new ID.4 and old ID.5 might have same curve under optimal circumstances, but getting those optimal circumstances is difficult, so pre-heating is probably gonna make huge difference there

I have actually always been able to charge our id.4 from 2022 with 3.2 software with this curve. Only slightly lower peak of 130-135kW

It's very strange. Normally the charging speed should be 175 kw/h.🤔
    That's the case in France.

I have a U. S. built pro s awd with sk on cells that peaks at 192 kw. I charged 10-90% a couple weeks ago no battery preheating in 48 degree temperatures. It took 35 minutes. I’m guessing the 4-90 would not have been vastly different. I find all of the different batteries and charging curves very interesting.

      "175 kw/h" you must mean 175 kW.

@@coreyschmidt734 "48 degree temperatures." that is very hot. Best temperature for charging is 30 to 40 C degree. Above 40 C degree I believe ID EVs will reduce charge speed to avoid over heating.

You need to do 3-5 charging attempts to filter out any issues that a particular station might have. Peaking out at 130-140kW makes no sense.

In the rear PSM new APP550 with up to 210 kW, in front the same ASM as earlier, made by Magna. In total provides max 210 kW (limited by Sw config), which is same a RWD model, but AWD has more torque.
      ID.4 Pro (RWD) 210 kW, 545 Nm
      ID.4 Pro 4motion (AWD) 210 kW, 679 Nm
      ID.4 GTX (AWD) 250 kW, 679 Nm
ID4 RWD has more torque than a Tesla Y LR dual motors.
