Beautiful Day! Unfortunately I didn't catch many crabs. Only 1. I did catch 14 Turtles and 5 croaker though. First Location was the most comfortable. Second location looked like the best place to catch crabs. Third location was nothing special, just a public boat ramp. I'm really not sure why I was having problems catching anything. If you have any ideas please post them in the comments.

Never realized the audio was so muffled. I'll look into getting a better mic. I gave it my best shot. 3 locations, fresh bait, about 13 hours of crabbing and still only one keeper. I guess sometimes the crabs just aren't in the area. If you have any suggestions please let me know, just be nice. Also, I was thinking of revisiting a spot. Any suggestions on where you would like to see again?
I got a lapel mic. I'm just worried about the battery going dead on me. I'll need to make sure I test it often and carry spares.

It definitely was an adventure. I enjoyed myself. I keep thinking about that second place. It just doesn't make sense that I didn't catch anything there. It had to be mating time or something. I'll go back next year and try again.
Appreciate you putting that video out. It’s not as easy as others make it look. Also love you giving exact location. I’m about your age but moved away years ago. Get back once a summer to get a day of fishing and crabbing in but don't have the time to try different spots, so I do my homework with TH-cam. West Creek was on fire when I was a kid. Don't know what happened but it hasn't been good in 40 years
@@Bill-ks6ys I try to help people find places to go. I try to make it about the place more than about catching the most crabs. I really thought that second place would have been great! It had just about everything you would look for when trying to find a spot. I was totally shocked when I got nothing there. I’m still in disbelief, so much so that I keep thinking of trying it again. I keep thinking I just hit it at a bad time.

Yup! Catfish like that stinky stuff too. I tried chicken livers one time when I was in Texas. I didn't have much luck. It's tough to work with. My mom got a huge roll of this sock stuff to put it in but it took too long to stuff it and tie it up so I just used worms. 😁
I was out this past weekend in the same general area and did not have much luck either. Fished out going tide in a spot that I normally do well in and got a few keepers
It was really strange. I usually catch a bunch of small ones no matter where I go. I think I only caught 6 between all 3 places after 13 hours of crabbing. I wonder if the turtles had something to do with it. That’s a LOT of turtles (terrapin).
I think the water is still too cold and I have read the best time to crab is the incoming tide
Yes. Incoming tide is best. I was there from outgoing tide to next outgoing tide. Water temp is 75 degrees, so I don’t think it’s too cold.
Looks like it’s that time in the season🦀 when the big males are busy with something else and ignores the bait and traps. Any variety of bait doesn’t seem to do the trick. But they’ll be back. Maybe in a week or two. Great sunrise! Happy crabbing🦀!
I guess they gotta do what they gotta do. Lol. I'll still be out there next Sunday, enjoying the fresh ocean air and the beautiful sights. When they've finished having their fun they can find my traps waiting for them. ☺

Hey that's a great experiment! Glad you tried it...you saved me the effort of trying it. Heard others talk about trying it ...glad you tried it to prove that if it ain't broke don't fix it. Plain Ole Chicken Legs are the best!!! If you can't catch them with Plain Ole Chicken Legs they just aren't there!
Yep, not doing that again. There just isn't enough Fabreeze in the world and I just threw that cooler out. The smell will never come out of the vinyl.
I wouldn't let anything sit out in the sun, and definitely wouldn't Marinate it in garlic..
Just plain chicken or bunker.
Try bricktown or sea land marina red bank. Or other areas on the navasink.
Yea, I'm done with leaving chicken out. I felt like I was getting E-coli just looking at it. I'll check those places out on Google maps and see what I can find. Thanks!

You shouldn't put how many crabs you catch in the title. Maybe in the description for the people who want to know right away, but I think it takes the fun away from a crabbing video lol
I was considering that. I think I started doing that because someone complained that they watched the video and I didn't catch anything. It was late winter so... Anyway, I do agree. I think I'll put the total only in the description. I really appreciate the feedback!
