Original plan was to go to 7 Bridges but it was too crowded so plan B, Green Street Park, which was only a couple minutes away.
It started really slow but eventually picked up. Had a great time. Weather was good and I met a lot of really nice people.

Another great day! I was a little worried at the start but thankfully it picked up. I also learned how to make a thumbnail! Sorry for the smudge on the lens, have to learn to keep the lens clean.

Exactly!! People usually just look at the number I take home. I just want to have a great day crabbing. Seeing new places and enjoying my day. If I catch lunch that's just a bonus. I've never understood why people can go fishing and be happy just not getting skunked but if you go crabbing you need a bushel of 6+ inch crabs or it was a waste of time. Crabbing should be a fun hobby just like fishing.

Loved the Video!! Everyone is getting better! That was nice to let the boy take a picture of the Turtle - he said it was sort of like his "Lucky Charm" or something. Your new fishing rod and reel are keepers too...really fancy!!! 🤩

Love the new rod. The eyelet are very sturdy and it looks like it should handle whatever I might hook. No more stingrays spooling out all my line. Lol. They were looking all over for turtles and were upset they weren't finding any so when I pulled one up it seemed to brighten their day.

@@thandastones888 I'll need to make sure to go there in September. What do you use for bait to catch snapper? I was trying minnows, squid and frozen shrimp last weekend but I guess I'm a bit early.

@@slingshotcrabbing There will be old timers in that place catching bait, like spearings with a net. They would gladly give anyone fishing. Nice folks. That’s what we ended up using. Live spearings.

Nice video. What bait do you think works better I. Your experience. The bunker or chicken? Also, was the bunker fresh or frozen? Thanks!

It was frozen. In my opinion the bunker works a little better than the chicken but it gets torn apart quickly, especially if there are turtles in the area. They will still go after the chicken but they have a more difficult time ripping it apart. Also, chicken drumsticks are much cheaper. So what works better isn’t necessarily the better bait. I would stick with drumsticks.

I'm glad I haven't caught any turtles in my traps yet but I did see a couple of sea turtles swimming by the pier right buy me when I go crabbing little guys with the little flaps and I usually see a lot of cow nose rays
