This seems like almost the reenactment of what happened in the original 2024 timeline. I mean in the original timeline of 2024, The Flash vanishes in crisis. That would mean in the original timeline, Reverse Flash and Flash were fighting and both used their super speed and ended up in year 2000. Then only this time, Barry Allen vanishes in 2024 but that wasn't reported on newspaper. His reason of vanishing is because of the Cobalt Blue radiation that would teleport Barry from 2024 and have him sent in 2000. Only this time, Barry was able to return back to 2024 due to that Cobalt Blue radiation. Not everything about the 2024 was played based on the original timeline. Original Flash and current Flash did leave 2024 in an attempt to stop Eobard.
I’m glad Barry was able to get one last moment with his parents and really closure on the events of his mom’s death. Him being strong enough to warn his younger self to not get involved, plus his speech to Thawne about how Thawne failed to break him. Really great final scenes to have in the Final season.
It's very sweet that Barry got closure reuniting with his parents one last time. I still wish Crisis had prevented his father's murder by Zoom since while his mother's death is a fixed point in time, his father's wasn't since he was already the Flash by then so there was really no good reason at all for his death to still happen
