Two years on from this video, I think those who bought this car instead of waiting for the new one made the right choice. This car just looks so much better than the new S-class. Even if the new S-class is the better car objectively, I'd still choose this one over the new one because this one looks so much better. Honestly, I don't think Mercedes even needed the all new S-class. This could quite easily have carried on, perhaps with some updated technology like the latest mild hybrid engines, the latest MBUX augmented reality technology and so on. This still looks fresh, still looks stately and elegant.
This interior was waaay ahead of its time. Other carmakers are still copying it now and this interior still looks bang up to date. Mercedes designs and builds cars with the future in mind. Even after 7 years, they look so damn good.
Looks far better than the upcoming model. When you try to improve on perfection, regression often results. New model is totally lacking in road presence by comparison.

It's a very lovely car. Nice review. Two comments. That isn't 2 USB outlets in the back. It's a 110V AC outlet for your laptop brick or similar. And the pull out in the trunk isn't a tray. You push down on it and it becomes a holder for two shopping bags. Always amazing to see. You push the button to retract it backup.
I would take this 2020 over a 2021 hands down. Anyone who is buying a 2021 should go head and buy a tesler. Really that big tablet in the 2021 kills the luxury look on the inside. And the back end is Awful .Go take a look and tell me that the 2020 s class has more presents of real luxury.
S class is more luxurious. More comfortable. Light years ahead and more advanced in technology. Has way more features and luxurious amenitities. Better sound isolation. Better looks. I could go on and on.

Honestly, after seeing the complete W223(2021) S-Class, this one is the one to get. I'm not impressed by the Tesla-like screen or near-Level 3 autonomous driving. But most egregious is the lost of stately and prodigiously styling. I wouldn't want my S-Class to look like a bloated, stretched A/CLA-Class. The new interior may be forward on the tech, but it definitely lost the character of the W222(current) model.

Exactly, just simply update the infotainment system to MBUX, make it a touchscreen, add even more advanced technology and call it a day, while preserving to exterior and interior design.
this is like comparing current flagship phone with upcoming flagship phone, just that current flagship will look dated compared to the upcoming side by side. the current s class is still a brawn even when the new one launches.
This car has everything that u need all the tech features available and is very luxurious and several engines very powerful but u have to be rich and I mean rich to maintain this one
I hate the big touch screens. I do not get the appeal of a giant iPad that collects finger prints. This one with two big 12 inch screens controlled with a wheel works great why did they change it. I hope they go back it was a much classier way to do things. The novelty of a big screen wears off and becomes a distraction. This generation and even the W221 had a much better integration and blended well with the quality and classy looking and feeling interior. The new ones big iPad cheapens the car and takes away from the classy vibe.

It’s a nice car but was never the best ! That was just an exaggerated statement played by Mercedes to market it . As luxurious as this W222 model is , the upcoming W223 is absolute crap and doesn’t have anything that makes it feel like a premium car .
I better not see the new upcoming s-class with those leaked interior photos. The leaked photos show that the new interior looks cheaper compared to the premium look seen on this current generation.

I was talking about tech like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Heads-up Display, Augmented Reality Navigation, any sort of tech that is really useful. You are right though, the fact that the basic features like the climate controls and even the seat controls are touch screen buttons instead of physical buttons is a waste of time, and as much as I love computers, I have to say you have an excellent point. Modern cars should have just enough technology to stay competitive, while still keeping traditional buttons. Knobs, and switches.

The LS engine is excellent (V6 turbo) and performance as well, the quality of the interior is as good if not better than S Class. People buy the S Class for its badge and history. Plus the S Class has many engine options you can choose from, LS only has 2, the V6 turbo and N/A V6 with hybrid. In addition, downside of the S Class, it looks the same as the E and C Class inside out. They call them small medium and large :)
