- The Mercedes Benz S450 is known for being a top class luxury sedan. Under the hood is a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 362 HP & mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Sorry guys I misspoke with the HP numbers! It’s 362 not 262! I don’t know where the heck that came from!😂
I knew that wasn't accurate. I was saying to myself I'm zonking the motor for producing only 262hp. But I'm zonking the $112,000 price tag for a V-6 engine.

@@kohlrabenschwanz My old loaded S550 with 5.5 naturally aspirated V8 has 382 and 390 torque and it is fast enough for me. I bought it because it is a beautiful and comfortable car, not a sports car as I already experienced.
@@erics9754are you still happy about that purchase? I am looking into getting a '18 or maybe '19 s class but I am SLIGHTLY worried lol. I used to have a C class which was easy to work on. But I am not sure about the S Class.

Man this video is great! I was trying to see what the actual difference is between a S450 and S550 other than the engine and you nailed it! I’ll take the 3 Liter 362HP Twin Turbo any day that’s plenty! Cabin size and bells and whistles were my concern and it’s right on point! Thank you very much!!

I love this refresh & I think this was the perfect version of the S-Class even after the new S-Class for released for 2022 at least exterior wise. The new interior is even more stunning than this one is lol

Yes. The S class is my dream car as well. In fact the S450 is actually my favourite cause it has got almost all the same features of a Maybach S560 even though its 40 grand cheaper. Also that V6 can accelerate this car from 0 - 100km (100 km is equal to 62 miles) in just 5.1 seconds which is almost as fast a sports car.
Cost no object maybe, but for my money, please make it a Hyundai G90 or preferably a Kia K900. I am not a badge snob and the amenities per dollar ratio is rediculous with those 2. Happy Halloween Joe, and the 100k plus members of the Raiti's Rides family.🎃

The big Benz is beautiful inside and out (I love the color combo and wheels too). I always have love Mercs, especially the AMG versions but they need to have V8s. I love the emblem but give it a zonk for having a second one right next to the standing star. I always thought it was one or the other, not both.
You are so right about how beautiful this car is! I guess they wanted to give you your moneys worth with two emblems.

I never thought I'd see the day when a V-6 would cost you over $100,000!!🤦🏾♂️ I fully loaded Camry with a V-6 can be had for under $40,000 with a 301hp V-6.🤷🏾♂️
I think so may big sedans that are still very pricey are switching to twin-turbo V6 engines. The Lexus LS 500 did.

And at the end of the day it's still a Camry and this is still an S class. You can't compare the 2 on any level. This is the cheapest S class available though. I wish he reviewed a real S class like the flagship S 560.

As a used car, with a price difference of about $8000, will you get the s560 over the s450? Do you think the s560 will feel heavier? In the long run will the S450 be lower maintenance than the s560? Please help me with your thoughts on this.

Yes it is but this is the base model, the 560 is king in the luxury sedan world, let me teach you snowflakes a lesson the S class is and has been for years the best luxury sedan overall, for all you Lexus reliability lovers go fall off a cliff. The s class is a reliable car and has always had very solid engines and transmissions, it has it’s minor problems but as far as the “regular” ones with air ride “airmatic” and the V8’s go they are solid and not a wannabe luxury car that’s just a nicer Toyota.. Yes if you dealer maintain them it can be expensive for the stupid labor rates they charge and replacing unnecessary parts but if you have a good Indy or do it yourself and get your pretty little hands dirty it’s fine.. And if buying price is your concern just look at the used market, I own a 2009 CL550 that I bought for the price of a base rice cooker Camry,, It was 120k new.... oh yeah and Scotty Kilmer can go suck someone off.. that old loser isn’t a mechanic he’s a drama queen..

The S-Class, 7-Series, or A8L will be my next car. I’ll give each it’s fair chance. I routinely ride in the back seat of S-Classes. My observations:
1. Lincoln has had that dual hinged armrest for over 20 years now.
2. You should have examined its dual split sun visors; very handy on a curvy highway! Another 1980’s Ford design that should be industry standard but somehow isn’t.
3. In riding in a lot of S-Classes, I’ve noticed that the interior door panels don’t hold up very well. I’ve seen more than a fair share of them with quite a bit of premature wear.
4. I’m not fond of that instrument screen. It needs to be better integrated into the dash. It looks like someone slapped an oblong iPad in there that you could wrap your fingers around and yank out. Very aftermarket looking.
5. It seems like quite a few German cars that I’ve examined (and possibly other country’s makes too) have that cheap plastic-clad front seat back. I think that degrades the ambiance when seated in the rear seat.
6. You mentioned interior colors a few times. That’s another industry-wide weakness. Beige, gray, and black have more than worn out their welcome. Makers sacrifice stylistic interior colors so as not to be offensive.

Lol 2 years later reply but you can’t necessarily compare the w205 c class to the w222 s class even though they’re like the same generation of Mercedes-Benz but the S class is wider than the C and offers more features in terms of luxury and technology. Though the new 2022 C class is something else, like a baby s class even though not as wide
