@@madhatter2012 Yes! Drives it like it's cool. BTW, I really miss the OG Ghost with Martin and Simon. I found these guys a few years too late. While these two leads are really, really good, it's just not the same. Ceremony and Devotion is a great live recording but totally different music now. Even these guys are all gone and it's not really a band anymore. It's TF project. I like it-just nowhere near as much. I started listening to them after Forge gutted the band. Not cool. Wish'd he'd kept Alpha, Omega, this Drummer, this Bass player and the keyboard player. "Ultimate Ghost."
I will admit. Ghost is not a band that opens. Ghost is a headliner. Shame on people not knowing of Ghost. Also, they were short on time here. Didn't have the freedom of time like the other venues
You dont understand how a business works.Forge owns Ghost. The musicians are simply paid to do a job. They aren't guaranteed anything but getting paid for their service
They sued him over rights to the music, which he states he solely composed, and they just play the parts in the studio--to his standards. Papa (Tobias) has stated, along with his lawyers, that the band has claimed a monetary loss every year since the band's formation up until this last year. The ex members were all under the impression they were more than just hired guns, but being a musician who has been a hired gun, I know not to expect a lot when I'm not considered a "contributing member." I DO expect to be paid though, so I guess I get that aspect of it. Now, this biggest issue is the fact that they went unpaid for long periods of time. As a hired gun, yes, you expect to be paid, but if the band is in debt because of lack of record distribution in the states (thanks to places like the Bible Belt who ban this type of music because they're scared of their own shadows) then they can't expect HIM to personally pay them. I believe that would fall on the band's management. If he is in sole control of the finances, then yes. Otherwise, it is on their promoters and management to pay them for their services.
Forge played guitar and was the lead vocalist of a death metal band, if he came up with the riffs and put the music then it's his music. Kinda like Nine Inche Nails, Trent makes all the music but gets guys to go on tour with him.
Tobias even described Ghost as a Bathory style band. In the last years Quorthon was basically the only member, the other guys were there for touring with him.
I love how Papa is late for Cirice and comes out with his left hand glove still off. I guess when your that old, it takes a long time to pee! They are a bad ass band though.
I'm traveling to Philly from NYC to watch them headline. It's cool they are opening for Maiden, but watching this I can tell they are not showcasing their full potential like when they are headliners! Love this band!
john dillinger Those are called backing tracks, my friend! Yes, they do use backing tracks live. Mainly for vocal harmonies that would be impossible to do because he's the only one singing.
True, Grohl says he's sat in for shows with them. And if he were going to do it, he'd probably want to hide in plain sight, so I think he'd try to keep up the Faceless Ghoul persona, rather than jam out back there and give himself away.
Strange things here... no Devil Church (they played it at previous gigs), no "shine on you crazy diamond" intro before Cirice, Cirice intro very short, Papa hurrying and missing the beginning of the same song, no vocal intro on Year Zero... ??? Did they have less time to play this time? It's a bit awkward...
Why are the lip syncing, now I’m wondering if they’re even playing their instruments?? I think it was all pre recorded once live and now they just hit play!!
Average musicians at best. Square Hammer is a catchy song. Kiss Cooper New York Dolls did this 40 years ago. To compare them to Iron Maiden is a complete joke.
thunderbuddy88 On more than one video people commented that the crowd was dead. This is common for an opening act. Most people are there to see the headliner. Problem is Ghost are not in the same league as Maiden but hey, if you like them then that's all that matters isn't it?
DesertHigh Look fuck nuts. I never compared them to Iron Maiden. That would be a joke. This guys couldn't even tune their guitars. I saw Ghost live and they are shit. The singer is a fucking joke. Grow up you and stop being a fucking child. This is a band for losers.
Best drummer yet. Absolutely NOT a basher. Dude is refined. Drum sound is awesome even for a camera phone.
I happen to be a drummer and I agree with you 100%. That dude can drive a song!

That was my first iron madien and ghost concert
I loved them both
It's been 2 days and I can already drum square hammer
brettzilla craft ...since you still had the Ghost sound in your ears, deeply inside🎶
Who doesn't love this band?
Just saw Ghost headline in Philly at the Filmore and the 90 minute set was killer. I'd go see them again tomorrow!
Currently the best front man in rock. Hail to Papa.
Some excellent close footage of Papa in this vid. Good job.
Old Ghouls or new Ghouls, Ghost is awesome!!
1:05 Square Hammer
5:13 From the Pinnacle to the Pit
9:22 Ritual
14:00 Cirice
19:44 Year Zero
25:10 Absolution
Thanks!!
The last one is "absolution", not Majesty" ;-)
They played 2 more songs Mummy Dust and Monstrance Clock.
Really good footage! Thank you very much :)

LOL, they're no headliner. No more than any local bar band that plays derivative copy cat riffs.
Awesome video I was in the pit but I couldn't get this good cuz I was moshin the entire concert lol !
LOVE the spats , talent
Papa's voice sounds awesome o.o
Antwonwee we've heard it a million fucking times, stop being a buzzkill and enjoy the music.
+Eefra4 whoever said I didn't? I just think he's a hack
if you think he's a hack, why the fuck are you even on here commenting. Go be shitty somewhere else.
Tonight in Nashville. Them and Maiden. Can't wait!!
He has been the best Water so far. Damn Papa don’t let this guy go
Tobias running late at Cirice's beginning LOL!
I love how Papa is late for Cirice and comes out with his left hand glove still off. I guess when your that old, it takes a long time to pee! They are a bad ass band though.
maybe he's not used to the song being cut so short.. but yes umm.. old age of-course does have side effects.. uhm

thanks / m /
Hang in there Tobias.
somebody on youtube said their amps have recordings added to emphasizes instruments and his voice.did it sound like that live?
john dillinger
Those are called backing tracks, my friend! Yes, they do use backing tracks live. Mainly for vocal harmonies that would be impossible to do because he's the only one singing.
That might be Dave Grohl back there.
jason Luthringer lmao
I'm dead serious bro , he's played with them before.
Tho he usually always headbangs behind the drums. Maybe because his hair is tide up that he finally acts normal
True, Grohl says he's sat in for shows with them. And if he were going to do it, he'd probably want to hide in plain sight, so I think he'd try to keep up the Faceless Ghoul persona, rather than jam out back there and give himself away.
What did you use to tape it ? Make and Model ? thanks
5 year old camera Panasonic DMC-ZS20
I like that Iron Maiden treated them good in letting them use their stage and lights and back drop.
for me ghost doesnt sound the same idk maybe its the new ghouls, but even papa sounds different :(
Strange things here... no Devil Church (they played it at previous gigs), no "shine on you crazy diamond" intro before Cirice, Cirice intro very short, Papa hurrying and missing the beginning of the same song, no vocal intro on Year Zero... ??? they are opening! duh
Yes I know, but I saw videos from the 2 first gigs where they opened, and there were no such things...
I think Iron Maiden kinda rushed them.
They were definitely rushed because they didn't play the beginning of cirice
killer
Papa's voice sounds very different
Why are the lip syncing, now I’m wondering if they’re even playing their instruments?? I think it was all pre recorded once live and now they just hit play!!
What are you talking about?? Everything is live, like always!!!
Not a fan, saw them live, opened for IRON MAIDEN, and I thought the entire set, WTF?
well its the First 30 minutes of the Show as it says
Average musicians at best. Square Hammer is a catchy song. Kiss Cooper New York Dolls did this 40 years ago. To compare them to Iron Maiden is a complete joke.
who is comparing them to iron maiden?I can't believe they hooked up on this tour with them. They didn't need to,unless Forge is broke..
Freedom Fighter- just because they're opening for them doesn't mean people are comparing them to Maiden, that's actually the first time I heard that.
thunderbuddy88 On more than one video people commented that the crowd was dead. This is common for an opening act. Most people are there to see the headliner. Problem is Ghost are not in the same league as Maiden but hey, if you like them then that's all that matters isn't it?
