Intro Music & Square Hammer, Ghost, Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey; June 7th, 2017; Popestar North American Tour; 3rd night of the US Tour; opening for Iron Maiden
So cool. Ghost is becoming many people's new Heavy Metal band, like Opeth and Mastodon were a decade ago. If they want to have longevity, they should learn from Iron Maiden and maintain a consistent product throughout the good and the band times.
Went to this as a gift for right before I deployed to Somalia....was so bananas I'll never forget this I loved every second. Came in to see Maiden left a Ghost fan
gsoltis29 yeah, noticed it right away. Bigger build too. The drummer who was with them earlier this year doesn't follow the band on Instagram anymore. I wonder if the other Ghouls were kicked out. I think "Air" is still the same.
I noticed that on Instagram too. This is a whole new crew of Ghouls-even a new Air. Original Omega/Ether left on his own last July. Papa replaced them all. There is a pending lawsuit in Sweden from most of the former Ghouls about $$$$ they claim they didn't receive while they were in the Band. Google Ghost Band Lawsuit and Papa's response. I don't believe everything I read online but the lawsuit is for real.
Jimmy S oh, I know about the lawsuit. Shitty situation all around. I'm talking about the new Air they got this year. I'm pretty sure it's still the same one from the Euro shows; he makes the same movements while playing the keytar solo in Mummy Dust. I'm not sure about Water, Fire and Ether.
MT95: Sorry if I misunderstood you. I'm in the States so I only saw Euro shows on here. Same Air for sure (played/toured for Korn). Water is the same (look at his skinny, upper body). I'm pretty sure Fire & Ether are the same Ghouls from the Euro shows too. They are all animated, that's for sure. An online friend who saw them at the 2nd 2017 UK show & in Virginia the other night said everyone sounds tighter now than the Euro shows-that's a good thing. It is a shitty situation and a weird one to me. Because they were in other Bands together before Ghost, I thought they'd be good friends. Maybe that wasn't the case and Papa is now more or less saying," it's his Band, he writes the songs/music, and the guys are just interchangeable pieces." If that's all true, that's wild. Personally, I thought the Ghouls from the Infestissumam Era was their best lineup. Met all of them in & out of costume-really cool/great guys. I'm very curious & excited for the next album. \m/
Thanks for this kickass video. Any chance of sharing the native video or a complete version of this? My fellow Ghost nuts would shit a brick for something like this.
MikePlayzGuitar nope. Dave is currently out playing festivals and other shows with the Foo Fighters. This guy is the former drummer of AWOLNATION. He's a fucking beast!
The whole Satanic-rocker theme is hackneyed & tired by now, but the music is excellent and the stage show has a certain magic & elegance to it. Lots of potential here.
Agreed. I know it's all part of the comedy & fictional history of Ghost, but it's getting old by now. Allegedly, the whole concept of Ghost is that they're just that: ghosts. An undead zombie pope & a crew of unimportant spirits were freed from Hell and given a 2nd life on Earth on the condition they have to conquer the world with heavy metal music, and do so in the name of Satan. I understand that this little mythology is why they got noticed and gained so many fans to begin with, but the lyrics are starting to become one dimensional. I wish they'd broaden their subject matter into more universal themes everyone can relate to. I mean, does every single song HAVE TO be about the fucking devil?!
I was at this show it was for iron madien they opened up for iron madien
I love Both bands
As a swede myself I'm really fucking proud and honored!
Been a fan since 2015 and can't wait to see them again at Liseberg later this fall.

First time hearing this band especially live. This show was awesome.
Totally different Band that played in Portland 2016, this is definitely a step up!
Saw them first time KS 07-11-17 with Maiden, these guys Kick Ass!
Oh yeah - that is not the same drummer from a month ago or so. Totally obvious. This dude hits allot harder.
Totally! This dude plays different & is a real basher! \m/

Is that Dave playing drums?
MikePlayzGuitar nope. Dave is currently out playing festivals and other shows with the Foo Fighters. This guy is the former drummer of AWOLNATION. He's a fucking beast!
MegaThrasher95 I'd like to know who they all are so I can check out their bands.

Is it me or is the bass player a little over top in her playing???
drummer much better.
one ghoul is a female
bassist? Looking at the wirey frame
No
She comes and goes. Plays different ghouls too.
The bassist who has been with the band on the Popestar/Iron Maiden tours is male.
Very good musically but I wish the wouldn't choose the satanic theme.
