The problem is that we do not reflect enough on our history in Canada. We try and hide it. And you know what they say about those who do not learn from their history. Because if we did, New Brunswick would be a huge deal. The last decisive naval battle between France and Britain was fought in the Bay of Chaleur in Northern New Brunswick. First Nations people played an important role in helping survivors. This place is so very important and yet very few people even know this aspect of New Brunswick’s history. It should be a big deal, and it’s not even in our history books.
@@dperry19661 no...the winners write the history books......first it was Vikings, then French, then English......Loyalists were much later. The lines were drawn after the Brits lost against the Americans. The Americans ( what we call them now) said they didn’t want that frozen piece of ground that we now call Canada. So we got Canada because the Americans didn’t care enough to fight for it.
Now to think The NDP and Liberals have taken that freedom away , the next battle will be within and Turd will have his name in history books as he planed .
Hat's off to him! You have to laugh at yourself sometimes...and he did it like a champ...very gallant, too. Best, from a former resident in Fredericton, Oromocto, and Saint John...and UNB (F) post-grad.
Dude, used to sell the newspapers over the phone using the phone book as my reference... actually called Mrs Irving and tried selling it to her. She giggled, cut me off to say who she was and requested that I finish my speel so she can hear how I was selling her paper :) Damn nice lady, but then again...she is a maritimer right ;)
New Brunswick should market itself as a foodie province. When I did a trip of the east coast in 2015, I had some of the best food in New Brunswick. I can still remember the divine seafood chowder I had in this tiny little village on the way to Hopewell Rocks. It's also the only bilingual province and it have the largest french population outside Quebec whose culture is vastly different from them. They're nice for 1 thing. That province is not boring at all. Have anyone been to Saskatchewan?
@Jim Davison from wikipedia "At the provincial level, the Constitution Act, 1982 recognizes and guarantees the equal status of French and English in New Brunswick. While French has equal legal status in Manitoba restored due to a court ruling that struck down seventy-year-old English-only laws in 1985, in practice, French language services are only provided in some regions of the province. " So Manitoba is kind of bilingual, but not on the same legislative level as NB.
I used to live in Halifax. A guy once asked me where I was originally from and I said "Maine, near the border". He replied "Oh, you mean a poor man's New Brunswick?"..so yeah. I understand the stereotype. I know it's all in good fun but stereotypes will never cease to exist.
I’m a St Thomas grad, there are a lot of trees, including the sleepy part driving between Oromocto and Salisbury. If you want to see trees, there are tons
We finally visited NB after going twice to NS. We liked NB, and it seemed like our friends in NS were offended that we went to NB, and actually LIKED it! I'm from BC, and always knew that NS people hate NB people. But it seemed that the hate was NOT mutual
I did a Google search of what some of the Canadian province was known for, and Google replied: British Columbia: "Large Asian population and marijuana" Alberta: "Oil, cowboys, and racism" PEI: "Anne of Green Gables and potatoes" New Brunswick: "Yeah, me neither"
You can buy a house there for a box of timbits and a small dbl dbl. Seriously though I'm from bc and . . . Well I'm from b.c. has anyone ever compared property in other provinces. Somethings not right here.
Just so you know. Mr and Mrs Irving started out picking pop cans on the highways, rags to riches they own practically all gas stations, all convenient stores and all newspapers. Actually talked to Mrs Irving, they have a damn turn table in their garage in the 90's. Every single Maritimer knows and loves this fam!!!
"New Brunswick: If you hit Nova Scotia, you've gone too far" I love it lol
Just don't blink...eh ;)

Wasnt it originally settled by loyalist refugees?

3:00 Premier Gallant has his flaws, but his comedic timing and delivery is not that bad lol.
Hat's off to him! You have to laugh at yourself sometimes...and he did it like a champ...very gallant, too.

I figured when they asked Brian Gallant "Who's looking after the trees"? I was waiting for him to say, " Don't worry, Irving is looking after those."
Dude, used to sell the newspapers over the phone using the phone book as my reference... actually called Mrs Irving and tried selling it to her.

Interesting!
"Investing more to attract new tourists"? They planted more trees?
Thank you
I loved Moncton, New Brunswick
What do you like about moncton?
The balls to be only official Bilingual Province in Canada(i don't know if that will fit on a license plate)
Greg Hussey it will fit perfectly!
Manitoba is bilingual also...So there goes that.
@Jim Davison from wikipedia

This was so good!
I'm no liberal, but colour me impressed, Premier Gallant fuckin killed it, his timing and delivery were perfect
And the greatest people in the world.
I've been living in nb for 20 years and I love it lol
Populations have been declining b/c of lack of work. People didn't want to leave.
You've done way better during all this then most provinces east of you! Love from Windsor, Ontario!
It's than most provinces, not then.
NB 💕
The only reason we have a lot of trees is because of Mr. Irving 😂
Say what you will, 22 minutes, Ricky and Julian love us ;)
Sincerely, Moncton.
Hey man, Commodore 64s were AWESOME! Don't you dis my C64!
New Brunswick is a nice and friendly Province
I thought everyone in Canada was nice. Isn’t that the national brand? - an American

Yep, those mundane looking trees that are are a buffer to hide the ugly tree farms.
You just gotta love us Canadians. Any country that's not in a good relationship with Canada, there must be something wrong with ya.
New Brunswick: The drive thru province.
You wanna finish that thought, or are you telling him to drive slowly?
Worth doing in Autumn.

@@MRCOLDHANDS79 Also, I found it easier to talk to strangers in NB than in NS. I found the French in NB to be especially friendly
Newbrunswick’s worth seeing during the summer time, nature wise though, its a good place to walk around in the forest and smell the butt trees
I did a Google search of what some of the Canadian province was known for, and Google replied:

Aw man...now I want Maple syrup. And... I miss my St. Johns Maple Leafs t shirt
I used to live in P.E.I and we all make fun of Moncton constantly. It's the butt of all of our jokes there.

1:10 Of course Mark Critch, Susan Kent and Shaun Majumder are from Newfoundland...
You should do more fun of Longueuil!
You know what I really hate about this show? THE SEASONS ARE TOO FREAKING SHORT! Why don't they make it weekly all year long?
Is that really the premier? He better be single
He’s married.
What do you mean? His timing and delivery was great.
I am surprised NB's premier ah
boy that was so kaobei of me lol
Trudeau is the new "Elf On The Shelf".
Yes! I love being a born and raised "no-funswick"
In a crazy top over teakettle world, watching Canadians making fun of whatever New Brunswick is makes everything better.
we're not sure about it either
@@rubyjames3105 if i had to guess, Brunswick has something to do with bowling.
@@ernee100 lawn bowling specifically,

Lol, lol, lol
Great to see Katherine Ryan escaped from UK for a while.
If you think someone's lying about being a Maritimer...ask them who the Irving's are.
Also, if they don't own nor love riding quads....
im canadian and I cant get in?!
Brian Gallant looks like a mormon missionary.
You can buy a house there for a box of timbits and a small dbl dbl.
Seriously though I'm from bc and . . . Well I'm from b.c. has anyone ever compared property in other provinces. Somethings not right here.
Yes a knock off daily show makes fun of your province but do you have a song about your hometown by Stompin’ Tom Connors? I think not😁
Moncton, Tim Hortons Capitol of the world!!
Buy a medium coffee, walk in ANY direction and throw ur cup out in a Timmy's garbage can!!!
Just so you know.
