ford dealer parts told me cant get the black hub o ring or the selector switch (plastic on/off outer switch part, it does come out but theres a trick, move it to between c and k in "lock") v groove oring unless you buy a new locking hub assmbly. I could prob source one but today there is no American made legendary quality company oring kit anymore. If anybody knows of one still left, please let me know.There is a bearing inside as well, anybody know if there are any numbers on the bearing ?
How do you remove the main baring in the hub Assembly ?
I heard to oil it repatedly then use flatheads but never done it. I also want to know if there are any numbers on bearing and if we can still get a replacement somewhere.
I have the manual shift 4x4 on my 2003 I have a vacuum leak would that affect me? It’s not turning at all
No. If you have a manual lever shift on the floor vacuum is not used to engage the locking hub. Vacuum in your tuck is only used for blend doors in the dash.
I'm wanna put this axle on my jeep. If I'm not gonna use the auto lock and vacuum, do I really need these axle seals?
Yes. If you do not water and debree can get into your wheel hub needle bearing.
do you know if the 2006+ f250 and f550 have the same knuckles on a 4x4? tnks
F250 & F350 4x4 trucks have the same knuckle. F450 & F550 use the same knuckle.
Does the Ford Superduty only have one lock on the driver site of the front axle or on both sides on the front axle ?
There is a locking hub on both sides of the front axle.
@Preston McDonald maybe his was missing one. it has 1 on each hub. lol IDK
Does the metal ring dust plate cover get reinstalled with the new knuckle vacuum seal?
That is s separate part. It would be installed on the shaft before installing a new seal.
Do you have any vid how to rebuild or make the selector on the hub move easily?
Pull hub out and squirt in some household oil from outside, light mineral oil, light oil. Don't grease. Don't pull apart, fast n easy.

v groove oring could be jammed or withered away, theres a trick to taking off the selector switch outer cap part, you have to turn it to an exact place but i forget right now exactly where that is. -correction i looked it up and its in between the C and K.
Our 2004 f250 super duty dose not have vacuum going to it
Check the vacuum pump in the engine bay for proper function.
No matter if I put it on auto 2wd my axle still spins
I would suggest checking your locking hubs for proper function.
