I appreciate the terms for the sale of this car. New caretaker Gary restores the ol' girl, and Bill gets a set of keys and continued benefits of taking her for a spin. True gentlemen right there. Thanks for this special edition Lou, a great way to kick off Christmas morning. All the best of the season and the New Year to you Lou and family. Cheers from Canada.
Hi Lou and thank you for bringing us this super video on the '70 Chevelle SS, "barn find". Great to hear the story behind the car of how Bill bought the car in the autumn of 1971 and now, 52 years later ownership has just been turned over to Gary. I must tell you I love the way you closed out the video with your sharing of the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST, truly the reason for the season. Beautiful.
This was one special episode of My Car Story, Lou! I'm so excited for Gary - I know that car is in the right hands. Christmas is special for me because after losing my Mom recently, and my brother & Dad both on Christmas Eve some years ago - the Bible promises me that I'm going to see them again. This is only a temporary absence. I love that your a Christian brother, Lou. Merry Christmas...
Happy to read you enjoy this episode :-) Sad to read of the losses of your Family :-( You're right, a short temporary absence :-) Merry Christmas Brother Dave.
The car is in great shape for being in a barn so many years. I'm looking forward to seeing it again after it is restored. Lou, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024! God bless you and your family. 🙏
Hi Brian, Happy to read you appreciate the condition of this car :-) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Blessings received. God bless you and your family too, Lou
Merry Christmas! 🎄 Many a great car story begins with a barn find. I can tell this one will be the same, especially with Mr. Butler filling in its beginnings for Mr. Dinges and all of us, too. Thanks Lou, and enjoy your Christmas time with your family!
One of my good friends just had his grandpa's '70 Impala restored, in a nearly identical colour. I hope this one gets the same treatment! Another great video, Lou!
Brings back good memories, as I had a 1968 Gold SS 396 Chevelle with vinyl top, that looked almost like this cars twin. Really cool seeing one not restored.

Lou. great segment here. I love the Chevelles during that timeframe. Real classic automobiles. It's nice to see that it passed from one long-time owner to someone who always wanted this make, model and year and is going to restore it back to its original glory. Most importantly, really like the messaging you put forward at the end of the video. A belated merry Christmas and happy healthy 2024 to you and your family. May the good Lord continue to pass his blessings on to you and your family.

When I think about barn find there are two cars that come to mind Pontiac Trans Am and of course the Chevrolet Chevelle how awesome. Thanks for sharing this with us, my friend. I wish you a very Merry Christmas.
Hi Justin, Hmmm, I'll have to get that Barn Find Pontiac Trans Am on the Channel :-) My pleasure sharing with you. You're welcome. Merry Christmas. Lou
Lou, this is probably my all-time favorite video from you. It's like 3 videos in 1- 'My Car Story' + 'First wash in 100 years' + 'Will it run after decades in a barn'. You covered all the bases Lou! Can't wait to see this Chevelle fully restored. Thanks for the message at the end of the video, that truely is what life is all about! Hey Lou its JudyAnn here! Thanks for our chat yesterday! Always such a fun conversation....I specifically enjoyed this video for many reasons..however the most important reason is what is of eternal worth. Thanks for wrapping it up with the true meaning of Christmas and what life is truly about.....God gives us many things to enjoy in life, He gives us personal interests that show the depth and width of His Character. May you and your family be blessed this year as you share the gifts that God has given you!
He made a good anology comparing restoration of an old car and us needing what it needed. New Life! Eternal life! We are like that old car. The creator can make us like new. Get started now. Jesus, help me, i give up the keys to my life, i surrender this old mess and ask you to restore me. I accept you into my whole being as my Savior and Lord, lock stock and barrel. Amen , in Jesus name I pray!

Lou, a wonderful Christmas message at the end of this video. Thank you. May you and your family have a wonderful and blessed Christmas and the Happiest of New Years to come. Thank you for bringing these cars to us. Now THAT is what 60's/70's muscle was all about, going through those gears.
Michael, My pleasure sharing this Christmas episode with you :-) You're welcome. Blessing received. Wishing you a blessed Merry Christmas to you and your family too, Lou
Merry Christmas Lou! I’ve been with you for over six years. Love your cars, love this video, really love the message at the end! Bless you for all you do, and bless you and yours, this Christmas!
Merry Christmas Steve! Happy to read you've been along for the ride for 6 years! Thank you! Blessings received. God bless you and yours. Merry Christmas, Lou
Incredible story of how they found this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS in a barn! In truth, it is quite contrasting to see how it was, compared to the shiny and restored models that we are used to seeing on your channel. It was curious that after so many years of not seeing the light of day, the Chevelle is loaded and transported in a Chevrolet tow truck, hehe. Just with the cleaning and the respective oil and battery changes (among other things) this is looking very good! Everything is coming to life again, both in its beautiful golden paint and inside (although you can still see the occasional cobweb haha). That final ride in the rain was spectacular, and how this Chevelle ran and roared, as if trying to say "I'm free again!" Congratulations to its current owner, after searching for it for so many decades! Nice final message, Lou; and have a Merry Christmas with your loved ones!
Hi Jaime, I do like the restored ones. I just thought this was a great story. "how this Chevelle ran and roared, as if trying to say "I'm free again!" I agree with you, that is exactly what this car was saying. Happy to share the final message with you. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones too. Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
WOW! What a great Christmas treat! A great video of a great car! Ah, Lou, you gotta make another video of this car after Gary restores it! I'll be frothing at the mouth to see it! Have a great Christmas, and thank you for this fine gift!
Good for Gary in acquiring this barn find; a '70 super sport Chevelle is not too shabby at all. I hope we see it again some day. Thanks for video Lou, appreciate all your work as always.

Congratulations to the gentleman for purchasing this beauty and its original owner who took such good care of it. These kind of finds are getting harder and harder as the years pass….thank goodness we got Lou to bring them to us. Thx Lou!
My buddy Curt in high school had one of these which he swore was a clone, and this was 1982 or '83. If his car was an SS clone, it was a good one. It was all Cranberry Red with no stripes (can't remember if it had the Cowl Induction pop-up or not) and a black buckets/console/TH400. And the column collar moved with the floor shifter. "Those of you who know these cars will understand..." Excellent video! A real Christmas treat! Especially seeing it all cleaned up. I never would've guessed the top was black - gold and black vinyl is one of my favorite color combos on '60s to early '70s cars. Looks to me like it could be spot-repaired and paint-corrected, thus preserving the majority of that original paint. I see it's a Kansas City car with a 5500 redline tach - and I've never seen those little 'buckets' on the console for holding the seatbelt clasps! I do see the SS grills and tail light and front turn signal lenses. Raining? I would've donut'ed that turn-around. Actually I'd've been leery of driving it on wet, potentially salted, roads - unless the body is coming off of the frame - which that car might not need. Maybe Patrick Glenn Nichols himself will document that car! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Lou!!!
Patrick would love to see that car and do a document for it free! I think its free, maybe not? But he would like to see it. It needs to be wrote up as a survivor. Keep it as original as can be!
Hey Lou.This car is bold in gold with 396 if truth be told. Thanks for the spiritual focus, back at you with Matt 6: 9 and 10.I like Rev.21: 3 and 4.to bring it in focus. This particular car story is a special one.
Hi David H, Happy to read your Dad is hooked on the Channel :-) Blessing received. God bless you and your Dad too, Lou P.S. Make sure to share with him that it helps if he watches the commercials as that is how I get paid to keep sharing.
Wishing Lou and family and everyone a blessed Merry Christmas celebrating our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ praise God praying for everyone everyday God bless you all
Wow! This was a great story! I got goose bumps when he was accelerating toward the end. Thank you for the awesome message at the end. Amen and Merry Christmas!!

I remember when that car came out the tv commercial called it "The Humbler" ......the muscle car for dads with golf clubs in the trunk....should try and find the factory white stick shift ball , those Hurst shifter grips were the scourge of the 70s ,every guy with a muscle car had a silver palm on their right hand lol
Beautiful Chevelle SS 396 4 speed Lou. Merry Christmas to you and your family Lou. Enjoyed the little sermon at the end, myself I got saved when I was 10 years old been going to church my whole life. In fact I think that might have been one of the first places that I drove my Duster to when I got I running when I was 16. Merry Christmas Lou
Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) My pleasure sharing with you. Happy to read you have a relationship with Jesus too. Merry Christmas to you and your family PlymouthDuster225
@@loucostabile I had to sell my Chevelle when my wife and I got married cause we wanted a family but my dream car a 69 Chevelle is over maybe one day I’ll find that Chevelle!lol
Lou, thanks so much for this fun time with great people and a great story. Most of all thanks for being a bold believer willing to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to all those willing to listen. Cars are fun but all this will pass and eternity will be before us and where we spend it and with who is what truly matters. I thank God for you, keep running the race!❤️
Thanks for the Christmas present Lou 🎅 1970 in my opinion is the best of all the Chevelle SSs and the gold paint with the black vinyl roof is perfect for that body style. I hope he only treats the rust to stop it and keeps what little patina that's there. Have a Very Merry Christmas Lou 🎅🌲🎁 from me to you and yours ❤️💚😎
I owned the same 1970 car back in 1981 when I was 19. The only difference was mine had the black stripes and somebody switched out the 4 speed to an automatic . It was a fun ride that I have regretted selling for years
We need MORE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD LIKE U MY BROTHER WHO’S ♥️ is with the Lord. The world would be a better place with more Lou Constabiles who love our lord Christ Jesus, Like U do.. P.S. Hi Howard, Thank you and the prayers are appreciated. You know when you move toward Jesus the Devil will want to heap it on. Thank you for the prayers! Lou
I'm glad Gary finally got his dream car. I have met Gary more than a few times at Vaessen Brothers Chevrolet. They have been in business since 1926 with the same family ownership. I have been taking my vehicles there for about 25 years or more. They are a good Chevy dealership to do business with.
That will keep you young ! Love hearing it through the gears ! You have awesome car !👍🇺🇸 I’d drive it for a while before doing anything. It runs to good yet !
Lou Amen you said it all well said , Lou I want to wish you and you family a blessed Merry Christmas May the Lord Richly you and your family , God Bless Us All.

Hi Brad, Happy to read this car brings back memories of the TV commercial you remember :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Bob, My honor to share the Good News of Jesus. Keep me in your prayers, and I'll do my best to keep running the race! Lou

Happy to receive a "wow" from you :-)

:-)
The true meaning of Christmas, Lou, well said, spot on
Thanks Ralph :-)
Thanks for the Christmas present Lou 🎅
1970 in my opinion is the best of all the Chevelle SSs and the gold paint with the black vinyl roof is perfect for that body style. I hope he only treats the rust to stop it and keeps what little patina that's there.
Have a Very Merry Christmas Lou 🎅🌲🎁 from me to you and yours ❤️💚😎
Hi Pat, My pleasure sharing this "Christmas present" with you :-) You're welcome. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas to you and your family, Lou
I owned the same 1970 car back in 1981 when I was 19. The only difference was mine had the black stripes and somebody switched out the 4 speed to an automatic . It was a fun ride that I have regretted selling for years
Very nice Lou!
