- In this episode, I replace the front driver window regulator / motor in a 2002 2006 Honda CR-V. Hopefully I make this one of the easiest DIY repairs you've done!

My 2nd gen has been running perfectly and then the window stops working today, and then honda resource uploads this video on the same day.
woot woot!
awesomeness!
Can't thank you enough for this video!!!! A local shop was going to charge me near $500 to do this replacement (after they charged me $150 to identify the problem which was pretty obvious). Watched your video, ordered the part, easy as pie to install and I am back on the road for under $100. Thanks a million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good deal
Thank you. A thief broke the window of my Honda and with your video I could replace it.
Glad it helped
Very clean efficient explanation! Thank you so much. Also props for Honda engineers for their no nonsense design!
Thank you
@@hondaresource ...I replaced my regulator and even tinted my windows at the same time, a 30mn job!
very impressive guys. i love seeing everything taken apart and how much easier when u have help and such a good teacher/instructor. thank u again. i have always or often wanted to see how everything works.
Thank you
i got rear ended on the highway ( I was going 70mph... she had to be 100+ just looking at her phone ) in my gen 2 crv. I think its going to be totaled. Its a sad day. That thing had years ahead of it.
RIP! glad you are ok though man, vehicles can always be replaced!
huge help! We fixed my 2004 crv regulator. Now it works!!
Super helpful video :) Thank you both so much!
Thank you so much for this video. My confidence after watching this gave me the motivation to fix my drivers door motor myself, saving a fortune in pounds, sorry dollars 🙂Cheers
Thanks a lot. Very informative. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
question: what is your preferred radiator and upper and lower hoses, thermostat, and clamps for gen1 crv? whatever it is, i am going to buy it. my clamps loosen all the time i guess from the rubber flexing idk. and another thing, i need to replace the valve stem seals, any special tool, and how to keep them from falling. thanks a bunch. you are the best at making tutorials, and by far the best to listen to. thanks
Cody's a cutie in those gloves hahahaha😂
hahahaha
Thanks for this. I’ve taken the inside of door apart, now we’ll see how I’ll manage to put it back together again. Hopefully it will work
You got this 💪
@@hondaresourceso I managed to do it, definitely wouldn’t much rather a man do it fit me next time. On the plus side I saved £60 to get this done as I got the part myself.
But the panel isn’t clicking in back into the door; I have two black long screws left over and don’t know where they should go. And the drivers window would keep on rolling up or down just by pressing the button and letting it go, but now I have to press and hold the button for the window to roll. Any suggestions how to solve those issues please?
Question: I have reached the point where I need to slide the window down to remove the two concealed bolts. My window does not move.. at all. It is stuck in the up position. What now?
what did you end up doing? I am in the same situation. All bolts out and I can push it down
Great job and video. Clean the crud off the edges of that window while you have it out. :) Also, at 11:08, that plug to the left of the opening, goes through the plastic sheet to hold that plastic covering corner up. Might also want to just hook up the control panel up to test before putting the panel back on. Thanks
This all makes sense except for one thing. How do I move the window to get at the bolts to get it out? My motor is dead, window is stuck closed. My window doesn’t move like in this video.
Thanks.
How do you take the window out of the rear passenger side? I can't pull it out at an angle like the front can.
It's a little tricky. You have to remove the little quarter window first.
Any chance you could show this? I can't figure out how to get the room to slide the glass in@@hondaresource
Wonderful video. Really helpful. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Do you have an idea of what would be wrong with a 2004 Honda CRV if all 4 windows stopped at once.
got a question: as long as i am at tdc on crankshaft pulley,...and #1 piston (prior to removing timing belt) ..are cams' positions arbitrary after removing timing belt? in other words, what if they spin around or move, but crankshaft stays in place? i cannot find any information any where. i got a B20Z2. probably a dumb question, but i was a glorified grunt and i aint high speed, low drag no more. lol
They may move but as long as you put them back at tdc before installing the belt, you're good
What of the motor roll down but won’t go up in that process?
Cleetus!! 🤘🤘
Question for you sir, mom has a 2nd gen and the steering wheel shakes more than normal. All mounts have been changed, this seems to happen even more when AC is on
like at an idle?
@@hondaresource yes at idle
finally, i am the first to comment! wooooHooooooooooOOooo!!!!
glad to have you here man!
Friend, I did the same thing on my 2002 CRV. and everything was perfect but now the radio doesn't work and sometimes when I raise or lower the window I can hear the radio for two seconds. Before changing the window motor my radio worked fine. Do you have any idea what happened? Might you help me.
man i have no idea.
So if I’m rolling my window down and I hear a snap that sounded like someone threw a rock at me and then my window was loose, do you think this is what it is?
Yep
That’s insane that you have to remove so much material just for one regulator.
Thanks!
Thank you
So my driver window made a loud popping sound and then my window starts sliding down inside the door. The glass isn’t broken and the motor is making sound but I’m not exactly sure where to go from here. Do you have any asvice
Sounds like the regulator broke. I would just do what we did in this video
