When it comes to female characters bullying/SA male characters, it is almost never treated seriously, to the author and audience it is treated as a joke, like "yeah she is mean girlboss💅" or "he so pathetic letting a girl bully him🤣", even PTSD reactions become a meme. But I find it funny how hypocritical Verosika to tell Blitzø to move on and let Stolas have fun with a new guy when she doesn't even do the same.
Don't forget that the person she haird to do the storyboard for the Angel Val abuse screan as a consensual noncon fethish, which wouldn't be a problem, if they were able to seperet it from they work. Or when Viv, and the show got criticised for this, she said that the person who did it was an SA survivor, when they come out and said that they are in fect not an SA survivor.
Verosika SAs Moxxie: 😂👍 Blitzo harasses Moxxie and Millie: 😂👍 Angel harasses Husk: 😂👍 SirPentious gets forced into a sex room despite screaming "No" repeatedly: 😂👍 Stolas pressures Blitz into a transactional sexual relationship: 😂👍 Angel gets abused by Valentino: 😭😭😭😭😭😭😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹
I actually concerned as to why Viv uses sexuall assault as a joke, her representation of sexuall assault is honestly insulting and triggering for some.
It’s really funny how Blitzo is a genuinely flawed character and yet the only thing the show harps on is that he’s afraid of commitment. Everyone in hell is either some form of rapist or murderer and somehow Blitzo is the standout huh.
Right? We’re literally in hell, they had all the chances of having a main character be the most fucked up kind of person imaginable, like, a pedophilic, necrophiliac, rapist, murderer, all in one. That also ends up marrying their sister because that’s happened before But no we get an odd mix of “THEY’RE IN HELL THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO BE BAD PEOPLE!!” and “but they’re such victims 🥺”
To be fair, the rapists and murderers are mostly the sinners and they only exist in the Pride Ring. The rest of Hell's Rings in the Hellaverse are inhabited solely by Hellborn (Imps, succubi, hellhounds, etc) and based on Helluva Boss, they seem to have a semi-functional society. So it does make sense for Blitzo to be held in a higher standard than one would expect, since most hellborn probably don't interact with sinners very much.
Exactly! For some reason, he's scapegoat of the show while he's the most innocent character, excluding killing (but that's his job and it's Hell so no one cares). His boss bullies him, his co-worker bullies him, he got sexually assaulted by his boss' ex just for working for him, his paretns in-law don't like him, he's never treated seriously... like, why? That's not funny anymore. It never was.
@@CarlWheezer5804 You're right. I mean, he's a scapegoat as well (in work mostly). But when it comes to my description, punching bag fits better. Thank you.
The entire fandom, including Viv herself needs to leave the poor possum alone I just want to reach into the screen and give him head pats and one of the dozens of Phantom Of The Opera poster I find around my city
are you not gonna believe your friend may be innocent? that’s how it’s supposed to work, “innocent until proven guilty “, and doing the reverse is how innocent peoples lives get ruined.
@@siennanicholas1089that's not what i meant and you know it. I mean the people who don't take allegations like that seriously and dismiss potential victims in for the sake of someone who is possibly a criminal. That's why i said 'protect' and not simply 'defend'
@@benny687 i did not know that. to protect and to defend would be about the same in this case, to not take the allegation seriously would be to dismiss them, deflect, but not protect.
Asking out of curiosity...what would be your response to someone lying about SA/rape ? I am sorry I started to hate peoples responses being(after said person is proven innocent) "Well it was still their fault". Not being able to admit they were wrong. There is so many ways to support a potential victim without hating the possible criminal. Sure hate the criminal, when they are proven guilty...that doesn't equal to hating someone, who has done nothing. It is ok to believe a lie just admit it that you did and that the person you believed is a bad person. (Not saying you would do that, just putting an example) It honestly hurts me how someone can lie about such a serious thing and then still live a normal life, while they ruined someone elses life. Again I am sorry, I am just asking out of curiosity not with malicious intent.
I completely agree. I also didn’t like how some of the “ex’s” that were at the party weren’t even dating Blitzo. They were mostly one night stands or hook ups. They don’t even know Blitzo and they never dated him. Not to mention how Moxxie, who is married, was sexually harassed and assaulted by her. She’s so hypocritical and petty and is so obsessed with him that she throws a hate party over Blitzo, like girl, please move on. I feel more bad for Blitzo than I do for Stolas or Verosika or any of his “Ex’s.” Amazing video as always. I’m so glad I ran into your channel ❤
They were obviously just put in to have Blitz being seen as the awful one, if not then why doesn't Stolas have merch like his own KYS shirt? If they're both in wrong as Viv says, they should be equals with treatment but no, it's just Blitz who has this kind of merch.
@@artistanthony1007 exactly! Like that episode was so on the nose with the Blitzo torture? Like why would Verosika invite Stolas when he isn’t even an ex? He never dated Blitzo. Once again, it’s just the writers babying Stolas to make him seem like he’s innocent when he isn’t.
What ticks me off ab Verosika is that almost all her songs are her going “Lol yeah I’m over you, you don’t bother me anymore” Yet she throws parties abt Blitzø & can’t go a sentence without mentioning him & being petty. I stopped being friends with someone in the same mindset, where 3 years after we cut ties, they were still being petty & talking shit while I’ve moved on & worked on myself to be better. It’s not healthy & people gotta stop praising her for that JUST because she was the victim
@@imgalxe Yeah her songs are un-catchy honestly, and I wish Blitzø would just stay away from those who are bitter and like shut them off instead of letting them torment him or just let them know in the strongest way possible that they need to MOVE ON
Verosika at first was a asshole who had reasons to broke with blitzo, and she never cared about him after that, all the conflict was because of the parking. Now she is just: "i hate blitzo, i hate blitzo"
I personally hated the whole party as a concept. I feel like the show flip flops with the "It's hell" excuse because you'd think people breaking up, acting terrible in relationships, cheating, or whatever else would be an almost every day experience in hell. I mean it's normal even in everyday life, people get into crappy relationships all the time. Yet somehow one imp managed to have a whole party dedicated to how much he screwed people over.
The show's writing and Hazbin's makes me have 0% reason to side with anyone 100% specifically for that reason, who is supposed to be good, neutral and bad, Viv and her writers keep on trying to pick both good and bad, you cant make everyone both, you can have bad people turn good, good turn to bad, bad and good turn neutral and good & bad remain as they are, you legit cant just decide when someone becomes something and there cant be double standards when it is not there or fit.
Absolutely. It's Hell but there's an entire party dedicated to an imp for...not...reciprocating romantic feelings...or doing bad things to people...? These are demons? They behave like human 12 year olds lmfao. Oh poor Verosika she is so sympathetic now because Blitz broke her heart! Let's cconveniently forget that she ASSAULTED Moxxie and probably tons of other demons and also humans! It's so stupid. It makes 0 sense. The writers don't know what they want. Are they all bad demons from Hell who do heinous things or are these sympathetic little uwu babies
This is a thing I've been saying too 😭 Like... They're demons... why should we feel bad for them? Why do they have human emotions?? Why do they live normal lives?? Like are they not supposed to be bad people?? Then why are they in hell? 😭 The worst things they do is just kill people. I just find it confusing and silly that despite being demons, they're not so different from society.
Literally just making this all take place at a normal halloween party instead of an I hate Blitz pary would have done SO MUCH to improve this episode on basically every level.
The things Viv finds funny are definitely weird as hell, an SA joke reappears in Hazbin with Sir Pentious for example. Or a better example, her fixation on swears being funny. I'll never understand how either one is something I'm supposed to laugh at
Verosika is… a weird character. During Helluvas earlier days when it was more of a “villain of the week short paced cartoon” she was introduced as an antagonist for the episode Spring Break. She fullfilled that role perfectly, shes a bitch and clearly shown as a bad person. Which is… fine? Personally as a SA survivor I didnt mind the joke in the Spring Break episode, but seeing how Verosika developed it was retconned so… hard. Like in one episode shes assaulting someone and then suddenly shes butthurt over Blitz not wanting to have a serious relationship? Girl where are your moral guidelines?! The tonal whiplash might be because of the sudden re-direction of story, suddenly theres more depth, complex relationships and formerly assholes are now three dimensional. Verosika is a victim of this. I believe she didnt need a new arc. Just keep her as the salty ex, dont try to retcon her and the bad things she did before. But tbf, the scene with her and Moxxie wouldve sufficed if they just belittled him instead of assaulting him. Wouldve kept the scene less intense and you could argue her later on being pissy over her ex isnt retconning her apparent morals.
Yeah my biggest thing about Viv including that scene of Verosika SAing Moxxie is that it just didn't need to be there. Like you said, it would've been a lot better if they had just belittled him (not saying that's a good thing of course) because that alone communicates how she feels about him. I'm convinced Viv just likes SA scenes atp because they're in her work SO MUCH when they don't need to be 💀
This is a consistent problem with Vivs writing, but to me Stolas and Verosika are the two best examples of it. Their introductions and initial focus eps have them be perfectly suitable antagonists that work well for what they’re meant to be; Verosika is a bitchy ex who reflects how both were pretty toxic partners and works as a fun reflection of Blitzø, and Stolas is a powerful royal who’s leveraging his power for a transactional relationship, but is also set up as being a legitimate threat beyond his flirting. But for whatever reason, suddenly the show tries to justify their actions and completely retcon anything actually nasty, which not only makes them less interesting as a whole but also just removes any blame and puts it all on Blitzø. The show is more than happy to make it clear his shitty actions are, well, *shitty*. But Stolas isn’t allowed to be a manipulative antagonist, he’s actually just a poor sad lonely man who Blitzø is taking advantage of instead actually, Verosika SA’ing Moxxie doesn’t matter because we gotta focus on how awful is boss is actually! /s
As a male SA victim who was abused by older girls when I was younger, it’s… sad, and pathetic, frankly, whenever I see the blatant double standards in Vivziepop’s works. I also see it in other shows, too. Like in “The Boys” where Frenchie is so obviously abused by his Mafia Girl-boss but NO ONE fucking talks about it. Why? Because she’s hot, like Verosika. Being SA’d by a women is bad enough, but it becomes so horrendous when she’s attractive, like adding a “pretty privilege” on top of being an abuser. That’s how this fucking show is written: from an edgelord who puts all these serious topics as a way to boost their own ego rather than knowing wtf they’re dealing with. It’s like I wanna RANT about this show but I’m afraid people would make fun of me for being a male-victim, and the last thing I want is a bunch of 13-year-old fanatics telling me that I’m “lucky” to be a victim while they suck-up to their god - Vivzie - as some sort of genius. I due find this show (and Hazbin Hotel) entertaining, but it’s more like an animated Tumblr Blog taking itself too seriously than an actual show.
@@ForTheAnimated thanks for your comment / input. I know this doesn’t change shit but I’m sorry for what you’ve went through, I hope you’re doing at least a little better now.

I'm sorry you had to go through that, it's disgusting when some people these nowadays joke about SA when it comes to male victim and some defend abusers if they're "attractive" or "hot". I really hope you're doing okay now.
No seriously I'm genuinely so glad there's actually people who talk about these inconsistencies in helluva boss it's so irritating to see people normalize 😭@@imgalxe
Her: “You’re sh1tty, Blitz! Do you hear yourself?!” Me: You literally throw a party about encouraging exes to torture and possibly kill Blitz and straight up grape-d a *MARRIED* MAN a couple episodes ago. What the hell do you mean Blitz is the sh1tty one here?!
side note; I also hate how she borderline was like "yeah heres how you move on; be supposedly fine with the person u were in love with hooking up with someone else as a rebound while they are completely drunk and fumbling around like an idiot" which is...idk weird? I feel like knowing stolas's state of mind during this scene its weird to have it be portrayed like a positive. esp to the audience who actually KNOWS the context idk
Rebounds are stupidly portrayed as positive although it often ends in a worser heart break than what happend before. Your only getting with someone not to feel lonely... not because you actually have feelings for them, and it's so easy to take advantage of someone after a breakup, just letting it happen to someone you care about and encouraging it is a bad move
I dislike Verosika. I felt sympathy for her after watching "Apology tour" but once I remembered she sexually assaulted Moxxie, I can't feel any sympathy for her. She has every right to be mad at Blitzø but hurting people he cares for just to upset him? That's sick and makes her look equally awful. I also don't like how Verosika tells Blitzø to "hold it" when Stolas gets kissed by the incubus. It makes her look like a hypocrite when she herself publically humiliated Blitzø at Ozzie's without a second thought. If she herself couldn't hold it and just say "good for him", why Blitzø should? Verosika has every right to be sad, angry, unable to let go, even petty. But using her fame to publically humiliate her ex and assaulting his employee just for the sake of it is too much... At least Blitzø realised he did something wrong and apologised unlike Verosika and Stolas. That's why I can feel sympathy for him but not for them.
I mean yeah it made her look awful but she still did improve and was a victim. Not really a hypocrite, the point is she knows betterr now too which is why she is telling Blitz that, like the party wasn't meant to get Blitz's attention unlike before so clearly she changed and she had a point. She didn't use her fame for any of that or at least not to assault Moxxie which had nothing to do with her fame. A lot of the Blit apologizes werren't genuine though tbf and both Verrosika and Stolas clealry have changed as people at least.
@@Jdudec367 You've misunderstood. First of all, she's still a hypocrite because we've never seen her change. When something happens off-screen then it shouldn't matter. If it does matter then it's a bad writing. For example, when Blitzø tells Fizz about how Stolas treats him, it shouldn't matter because we never see these kinds of interactions between him and Stolas. And the thing with Verosika is that she hasn't even said that she knows better now or something. There's not even a suggestion that she changed. And yes, party didn't mean to get Blitzø's attention but doing this is still childish and is a form of humiliating him, even if Blitzø himself wasn't invited. To further expand on this point - this party has nothing to do with healing. It's just a regular party but with Blitzø's face on everything which... I don't think it's helpful for those who actually feel hurt by the imp. Also, I've said "those who actually feel hurt" because... let's face it, a good chunk of these people are probably one nightstands. I even have a way to prove it - Dennis is there, a guy who Blitzø only kissed. So most likely Verosika invites on her party everyone - people who Blitzø actually dated, people who he just slept... even people who he tried to sleep with apparently. I bet those who Blitzø only slept with weren't really hurt but just went to Verosika's party because it was hosted by celebrity. Which is a form of using your fame to humiliate someone. And no, she didn't use her fame to assault Moxxie. What I was refering to was "Ozzie's" and her segment of "House of Asmodeus" where she started publically talk about how selfish Blitzø was in bed. And it's abusing her popularity because probably no one would think anything of it if sone random person said (or rather sang) that. But when a star does it... Well, we've never seen Blitzø get harassed by any of Verosika's fans but realistically, that should be happening after "Ozzie's". Lastly, yes. Most of Blitzø's apologies weren't honest. But his apology to Stolas and Verosika were. That's what I was refering to.
@@Jdudec367stolas has NOT changed as a person, did we watch the same episode or you even watch the vid? hes a narcissist and showed it in apology tour.
i dont think verosika deserves to be upset with blitzø in the slightest. he breaks up which he has the right to do and what does she do? SA his employee? cmon like thats insane
@@auramaticz I mean, he didn't simply break up with her. He ghosted her, rode away with her car and maxed her credit card. So I understand her bitterness. But does that justify her SA-ing his employee? Absolutely not.
I find it frustrating when people speak about how Verosika acts in the Apology Tour episode so positively. They focus on Blitzø's shitty actions and sympathize with Verosika, but I don't understand why because she's also done terrible things. I understand that having her heart broken must have been difficult, but she still sexually assaulted Moxxie. The show tends to overlook the disgusting actions of most characters by using the excuse that they're in hell, even though both sinners and hellborn demons have shown morality. Apology Tour shows Verosika as a victim of Blitzø's commitment issues and doesn't seem to understand how bad of a person she is. The show treats sexual assault as a joke, similar to how Hazbin handled Sir Pentious's assault and how Husk's clear discomfort in regards to Angel's sexual harassment is laughed at or seen as 'cute'. There is an obvious double standard. Some acts of sexual assault are taken seriously and the perpetrators are shown to be evil people, like when Valentino assaults Angel Dust, while the rest are treated as jokes. When women abuse men in media, especially sexually, it is often ignored by both the writers and the audience as being a terrible thing to do. Even in real life, men's sexual harassment and assault are never talked about enough. It's sickening how just because somebody is of a less oppressed gender, suddenly their abuse and trauma aren't taken seriously. Verosika expects sympathy from Blitzø because of what he did to her but never takes into account how literally sexually assaulting Moxxie would have affected him. I'm tired of people praising Verosika as an amazing character who has shown a lot of development since season one. Even if she has developed as a character since then, she's still a horrible person who committed sexual assault and hasn't taken responsibility for it. She acts like she is above Blitzø while arguably being a worse person. Also as a side note, I don't understand why people find her so attractive. Her voice actor is great in the role and suits Verosika as a character. And she does have a cool design, but she doesn't look that different to most female demons. I think people's opinion of her looks also plays a part in why they are so set on defending and praising her.
Brandon Rogers confirmed a while back that Blitz and Verosika relationship was equally toxic. It was a two sided thing and complicated but now I think Vivienne thought it’d be a better idea to retcon it for Stolitz just so she can use Ver again. Honestly I would have gone with this idea and make them settle their conflict at the end of Season 3.
The first time I watched it I felt REALLY uncomfortable but back then I had a herd follower mentality and I let it slide gaslighting myself it was “funny” I wish that scene didn’t exist 💀💀
"Nah, we gotta show him that he's a bottom and that no bottom can ever talk back to the dommy mommy gurl that is Verosika Mayday without a little itty bit of punishment 💅" this is a joke please don't take it seriously
And what makes things worse is how Verosika's voice actress is also in Miraculous, which I think I've heard that show also had some very disturbing people on the staff as well
Everytime i watch one of your helluva verse vids, i feel horrid for jot realizing certain scenes are disgusting. But, they are helping me stay aware, so thank youuu 😁👍
@@8eyes Stolas is pretty problematic, but we still love him. Verosika, as seen in the video, is pretty problematic, but we still love her. Alastor, Vox, problematic, but we still love them.
The whole party is weird in so many ways. Like why is it held in the human world? I get that it’s there so the writers can tell us about how Halloween is the one day a year when demons can freely go to Earth, but other than that why hold it on Earth and not in Hell? Is Verosika stalking Blitz just so she can keep tabs on everyone he makes out with and invite them to her party? Also how are Blitz’s exes this upset? Would they actually be this upset without the party or is Verosika using her succubus magic to make them hate Blitz? Is all this just so Verosika can convince herself she isn’t the only one who got let down by Blitz?
I was in an argument about verosika in a comment section. Their strawman argument mostly was Because they don’t show anything in the moxie scene, they could have done non sexual things. Because yea…demons who embody lust and sex totally would just not feed into their literal reason they exist. He defended verosika by saying they were just holding hands especially after mox says “don’t touch that” or blitz said don’t let them access any of your holes”. And kissing him all over was not SA. The delusions of helluva boss fans.
@@demondog9660funny enough I did ask about that. They legit just want to like verosika without feeling bad and would rather ignore the wider issue.
@@reflection6401 Okay, that's good they actually treat male SA seriously. Still, I don't know how anyone can justify this scene in any way. I mean, in theory the excuse "it's Hell" should work... but the problem is that despite the setting, it doesn't actually feel like Hell. Hell shouldn't have prisons. That's one of the reasons I don't like "Exes and Ohs" too much... And people in general shouldn't have much morality. But they do! Why else would Verosika be THAT petty about her relationship with Blitzø? Why else Stella hiring Striker to kill Stolas is a big deal? Why else Beelzebub had a problem with Blitzø drinking too much (not to mention that she was supposed represent gluttony...)? It's because the setting doesn't matter. The morality is the same as in our world. So Verosika assaulting Moxxie is just as big deal as it would be in our world.
Even as someone who can try to defend Verosika, though it is hard and even I can hardly believe it, that is probably the stupidest way to defend her I have ever heard.
I personally don't like HB or HH because of the horrid writing, yes there is some things to like about it.. I personally don't like how it jokes about sexual assault/harassment and the swear words every 0.2 nanoseconds.

SA isn't to be taken as a joke but You lord and savior Vivziepop loves to make it into one for some reason. "It's more than just sex and swear jokes." Yes. Other adult shows swear but both HH and HB say more F bombs in a single sentence than EDP445. Sure the animartion and characters are great but why do y'all continiue to ignore the bad writing? "That's the point" No it's not. If that was the case, y'all wouldn't be whining about the Australian Christmas Tree, Moth pimp, the rattlesnake assassin, evil Moxxie, the screaming white bird, Elsa as a bird, or the chunky flapper girl.
My thoughts exactly. Like I don't have an issue with _some_ swearing but when it's done every single second it's just as cringe as millennials saying gen alpha slang to be "hip with the kids". oh yeah and fun fact, there are a total of 388 swear words said in HH when there's only EIGHT EPISODES. EIGHT.
I've always had to skip the scene (the scene with Moxxie and Verosika) cause it's always made me annoyed and uncomfortable, and i always wanted to avoid a lot of ship art of them (yes, there is ship art of Moxxie and Verosika) the SA stuff in these shows are so inconsistent, i just wish they would be consistent with it, i just hate it, i really do, women assaulting men should be taken just as seriously as men assaulting women.

Hot take idea for your next video: People don’t take Asexuality seriously especially in this community. Asexuals tend to be left out a lot(by the rest of the lgbtq community as well) mainly because people don’t understand it. Why I’m mentioning it in terms of Hazbin hotel/Helluva boss well. A lot of the Ace characters in the show are not respected at all, and this has nothing to do with ships, it has to do with constant sexualisation and fanart. I know this isn’t a new thing to be happening, and they’re just characters. But I feel like it really mirrors the way the Ace spectrum is treated irl. For example, how Alastor is treated as a whole by the fandom, people have been told he’s asexual and have straight up said “idc”. Another character is Striker from Helluva boss. (DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NOT WATCHED HELLUVA BOSS FULLY, I’VE ONLY SEEN CLIPS SO YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO CORRECT ME ON THIS!). I’m pretty sure he’s Asexual, but the show seems to constantly sexualise him which makes me sick. Again I know this isn’t THAT much of a big deal, and I’m not going around hating on every 18+ fanart I see(I just scroll lol)but I think this represents a bigger issue that needs to be addressed.
I don't like Hazbin or Alastor as a character but as an aroace person myself the sexualization of him by the fandom genuinely makes me sick to my stomach. I watched the show to see how it would be handled in canon and (in my opinion) it was actually portrayed fairly well, but that only makes the fandom's treatment of him even worse. He is very obviously completely sex/romance repulsed based on what we see in the show, yet there are more ships, smut fics and art of him out there than literally any other character in the show, aside from *maybe* Angel Dust. Not to sound like a snowflake or anything, but that can't be a coincidence, it's blatant aroace erasure.
You know people can ship whatever they want because... they are fictional characters? Just like u can ship two heterosexual males or females together to make them gay or ship gays into straight relationships... u can do it with whatever character you want... cuz they are fictional 😂
@@RoxarHuntley if you had actually read what I said you would’ve seen “this has nothing to do with ships” And not once in that entire comment did I mention a single ship.
my main OC for Helluva is aromantic asexual and she got looked over, shunned, and sexualized after coming out. this was for her lore and trauma, she lived in Lust before moving to Pride at 21 for work She had best friends throughout her school journey, each representing what she was going through during that period of time. in college, she realized she was ace and after facing backlash, she started a club to educate people on asexuality and spoke about treatment of ace people in the lust ring, this was meant to highlight how she doesn't take shit from anyone, which got her into IMP where's your excuse, Viv? (I don't wanna brag, I'm bad at lots of things, and theres a gap in said OC's story)
Tbh, I never had strong feelings for Verosika until seeing this video, but honestly? Seeing this video does put her in the list of "Characters that I wish I could like but I can't" Besides from that, this video was really well put together!
Perhaps if when she was finally being open to Blitzø, instead of victimizing herself she actually admitted that "Yeah, in a way, I'm just as sh*tty just for throwing this party at you, but at least I managed to know people" that could have been perhaps better, not good by any means, but at least better than just throwing shade at Blitzø
@@sweetcinnamonpnchkin Yeah, I heard it did, I wanted to read the manga but a friend of mine who I have my fair share of controversies with loved it so it might take me awhile to recover
if you think male victims should be validated why even say “i dont dislike verosika” like okay you dont dislike a total pervert who SAed moxxie. yall did not get the point of the vid
@@auramaticz I get your point entirely and I'm sorry if I came off as dismissive in my comment, but implying that I don't think male victims aren't valid because I don't entirely dislike one fictional character who might've caused harm to another by a form of assault is bad faith interpretation Yes, I don't support what Verosika did and don't appreciate how it was played for laughs and that specific aspect of her character I may dislike however I do like other elements on her character so I'm more-so neutral to her than I am disliking of her since her being a total creep isn't her entire character (ex. Stolas) and just because I chose not to entirely hate what she has to offer doesn't mean I 'misinterpreted' the point of the video... the creator even said himself he just disliked the immaturity in terms of how Verosika handled the party and how she completely violated Moxxie but he did like her in other ways. if this was a real person I'd retract on my statement 100% and I do think justifying assault for something being a 'fictional character' is wrong, there's nothing wrong with enjoying a character who actually has a personality outside of that
@@ashy_inking1476 “might’ve” we’re talking bad faith here right? you’re still doing it. the fact is she DID SA moxxie. theres a difference in being a horndog and literally assaulting someone because your ex left you 😭 what personality does she have other than being an abusive sex criminal who indulges stolas on his clear narcissism? more like a valentino than a “victim” as people like to say
Was she valid for disliking Blitz? Yes. But should she SA people and be hypocritical? No. I also wanted to like her. I probably would if they just got rid of the Moxie scene
Soooo the thing is, the Angel and Val situation is the ONLY thing that’s taken “seriously” and even that is a low bar to set. Angel is a sex slave. But after the episode where we see how he is violently abused sexually and physically, the episode still comes off as fetishized now that I think about it. I think that’s what horrified me the most. Not just how Valentino and others violently abused Angel Dust as he’s forced to work as a sex slave, but with how they make it come off as “sexy” and something to lust over like any other regular porno. It just seems like the choreography, the framing, the coloring, the lighting and Angel’s look of satisfaction as he’s being forced comes off as him being addicted to being abused rather than forced. But it’s not supposed to be to be that way. It’s like watching “Me Me Me” but with someone who were suppose to sympathize with, who is forced into his situation, who is under contract, who is a sex slave, who doesn’t like it, who can’t say “no” and yet it’s treated more like a sexualized hentai music video. You know, like what you would see in typical yaoi tropes were ml gets SA’d by other ml and it’s “romantic” and “lustful”. Vivzie doesn’t seem to understand how serious non consensual situations should be portrayed or how to joke about them. Abuse of any kind shouldn’t be framed like that, like pleasing fun pop song music video with non consensual scenes in the background. Maybe if she left out the fun pop music and just replaced them with sounds of angel grunting in pain, and sounding like he’s about to cry, that could work to help empathize with Angel rather than objectified. And as I said in Devilman Crybaby, a girl named Tamiki does a sexy photo shoot and ends up getting assaulted and it’s a very upsetting scene including the part where she pleasures herself as a way to cope with her trauma which the show portrayed perfectly. We’re not suppose to find it sexy or lust over it. Whether she’s being assaulted or pleasuring herself, she’s not moaning. Those scenes were uncomfortable and upsetting, whereas in poison, it’s flashy, sexy, and treats Angel more like a sex idol to lust over rather than a victim. I think that’s what I find more upsetting. Like r*pe porn. As for Loser, Baby; I wanted to love this song. It’s catchy but it’s sooooo toxic and message is so bad. How do you botch up a song about how you’re not alone soooo badly? Oh right. By calling a victim of sexual abuse and sex slave work a LOSER!!!! It sound more like victim blaming rather than a “you’re not alone” song. Husk cannot relate to Angel at all considering that Alastor doesn’t constantly call Husk over to do bartender work or whatever while Angel is constantly call back to do sex slave work. Husk is more free than Angel Dust because he’s constantly abused, constantly assaulted, constantly abusing drugs and self harming to cope with his situation. Husk even called out Angel Dust for self destructive behavior. And after Angel explained how he has to be and how he damaged himself that maybe he wouldn’t be Valentino’s favorite toy anymore and maybe let him go, Husk goes into a song about how he’s a loser for being stuck in his situation. How can I take that as anything other than victim blaming? Husk tells Angel to basically take responsibility for his own happiness and make the best from what he’s got, but what responsibility can Angel Dust take being under this slave contract with an overlord pimp who constantly calls him in and he has no choice but to comply? Angel isn’t changing a bad habits. He’s literally under a supernatural contract in these abusive relationships with Valentino which in rl is already hard enough to get out of abusive relationships, but in Angel’s case, his soul is owned by an overlord. Husk telling Angel to take responsibility of his own happiness just made Angel numb and accepting of his situation where his abusive sex slave life is treated more like Angel came home from working a 9 to 5 job rather than a victim coming home from non consensual sex work. Husk tells Angel to be happy and comfortable with his life of enslavement. I get the intent of the song but that doesn’t erase the poor execution. Another reason I don’t ship these two. If Vivzie doesn’t know how to treat these topics with care and consideration in mind, she shouldn’t be writing. One thing to do when writing topics like this is to do research, talk to people, read books, take references from other source materials that handle these topics with sensitivity and empathy. And now we have characters like Moxxie and Sir Pentious who are treated like nothing more than the butt of the joke even when they are SA’d. Even if they were meant to be comic relief characters to suffer for humor, this is still too far. Telling the jokes can be funny, but when you show it happening, you can’t even call it a joke and it’s not funny. If Moxxie were a girl in that room being assaulted by a group of men, fans would be wishing for their deaths. I think what pisses me off a bit more is how Millie doesn’t seem to know when to go feral for her man. She gets defensive when he’s emasculated or made fun of which I thought was cute and sweet, but then he gets assaulted by Verosika and her posse or groped by Blitz and she doesn’t even seem to care or bat an eye. But when her and her sister get groped in a club, KILL THE FOOL!!!! Which I get, that’s her sister, but Moxxie is also her husband. Any sensible partner would be furious knowing their significant other was being violated. She wouldn’t be scared of standing up to Ozzie and Fizz when they’re mocking her husband, but apparently groping and assaulting him is just fine. And I wish Cherri tried to help out sir Pentious when she could clearly see him struggling and saying “no” a few times while being dragged into the room against his will.
I wanted Charlie to use her powers to break the contract between Angel and Valentino, She is the princess of hell and she can do this, this would not only show how powerful she is but also show that she is competent, because if she wants to help him reach redemption, cutting ties with someone who hurts Angel would be very efficient, but for some reason she doesn't do anything.
I really agree with you on this. Think of a show like South Park where a character like Cartman does a lot of fucked up shit like being anti-semetic and making a kid eat his own Mom but it works cuz the show has already established that Cartmans an asshole and doesn't try to get you to sympathize with him. The edgy stuff doesn't quite work with Helluva Boss cuz they want to have edgy and crude jokes but they also want you to be emotionally invested into the characters which just doesn't work.
Is not that it doesn't work, its that helluva boss does it the wrong way For example, in invader zim the main character is an evil alien invader that wants to takeover or straight up try to destroy earth but they succed in making him sympathetic in some scenes The point is, you can have a character causing edgy atuff for laughs and you can make your audience care for that character, you just need to know hoe to do it
I mean Cartman is pure evil really and you can make evil characters sympathetic and have it work too, hell in Mother 1 the alien who ends up becoming a icon of evil actually has a rather sympathetic backstory despite what Giygas becomes while the more human villian Porky...while somewhat sympathetic with the abuse he went through as a kid...arguably becomes a even bigger monster then something like Giygas who is almost like the embodiment of evil at that point. I meaan....no you can have both of those things Deadpool for example works well as that for example.
I just realized this is literally Husk all over again. The man is an alcoholic with a gambling addiction yet in episode 6 he chastises Angel Dust for THINKING about doing drugs
"Kind offer but I'm married" HE LITERALLY SAID VERY POLITELY NO And thats the fucked up point for me She SA'ed Moxxie after he was politely saying that he is married And i SO FUCKING HATE that that scene was just brushed off as a joke. STOP NORMALIZING SA‼️
A way to fix the moxxie scene and also fix the slight plot hole of asmodeus being king of consent when the succubi are… Like That. would be to have verosika and her crew too to tempt moxxie using their magic and fail. Basically making it so their seduction magic can only enhance attraction that exists to begin with, and moxxie being loyal to Millie would be unaffected. Then they get mad it doesn’t work and beat him up. Keeps the same tone of the scene but brings in the cartoonish violence instead of a dissonant mockery of male SA.
I always hated how characters Blitz fucked over (intentionally or not) resort to antagonizing/publically shaming him and those associated with him and use Blitz's shitty behaviour as a justification for their shitty behaviour. Seriously, the man already hates himself enough and they just end up making him feel worse about himself.
Not only that but these people don’t know past they don’t understand why act the way he does and it because doesn’t talk about most in people in show except for Fizz and Barbie don’t know what his life was growing up kid dickhead of father Cash and that a fire he accidentally caused which cost his mother and his best friend’s limbs and the aftermath of all that had emotional and mentally changed him and he spent that last 15 years never forgive himself for happened that day which is why he hurt himself so much
@@SilentMaryKate I mean, they all have every right to be mad at him. After all, Blitzø self-hatred isn't an excuse for him to hurt people around him. But I also agree with you what you said. This is exactly why I dislike Verosika. I understand her being kind of spiteful in "Spring-Broken" but thinking that it's an okay thing to do to SA Blitzø's employee just because he is his employee? Like, just because someone hurt you, it doesn't give you the right to hurt people who associate with them! You're also right about public shaming. That's another reason for me to dislike Verosika and, although I like Fizzarolli, I also hold him accountable for this. Especially that both Fizz and Vero are famous which makes them publically humiliate Blitzø in "Ozzie's" even worse. So although Blitzø also needs to stop because his self-destructive tendencies aren't destructive only for him but at the same time, people who he screwed over shouldn't use his behaviour as an excuse to act this way.
@@alexthehopkins2529 I just didn't recognize her appearance or her voice. I only realized it was her once I saw her tattoo while she was talking with Blitzø.
Yay, I'm early! I just wanna say I reallu love Verosika's design and her voice(both actors!), but OH MY GODS I HATE HER SO, SO MUCH. THIS IS LIKE STOLAS- ANOTHER CUARACTER WITH AN AMAZING DESIGN AND VOICE/S WITH A TERRIBLE PERSONALITY-
I honestly just didn't like how she went under the basis of every one of Blitz's relationships ending badly just because of him because categorizing his relationship with stolas under that basis is pretty blind and inviting stolas to the party and telling him that blitz was just a "mother fucker" might push a victim mentality onto him when the relationship wasn't really like that. *Also find it crazy how she knows so much about blitz's personal life and yet barely knows anything about his relationship with stolas realistically other than "here we go again, another relationship (that isn't my business btw) that blitz has which means the he's OBVIOUSLY gonna be the fucked up bitch in"
What pissed me off the most is when she was like “Just say good for him hope he gets laid” when Blitz was upset with Stolas dancing with the guy. HOWEVER at Ozzies when she saw Blitz on a date was she happy for him? NO SHE SANG ABOUT IT AND CORNERED HIM. Blitz was an asshole ngl but she wasn’t really trying to get over him just hate on him
To be honest. I think I’m pretty annoyed that all Verosika talks about is Blitz- okay, girl, you’re over him but all you do is spite and talk shit and THINK about him. Are you sure you’re over him? To me, it feels like she has something left for him that she can’t drop whatsoever Look. I swear that wasn’t because I like Blitzika, it just really feels like, for some reason, hating Blitz is Verosika’s whole fucking world, instead of just moving on and forgetting about him- c’mon, love. Please just forget about him and be neutral Also also. Why the actual fuck did that make it that Blitz did not mean his sorry to Verosika?! Great, how to ruin such a wonderful moment in a few seconds flat
I definitely agree about the male sexual assault because it’s so prevalent in the chainsaw man fan base that they see Denji as soooo lucky to be groomed by the full grown adult women. Chainsaw man explores male grooming and assault very well but then people just see him as a horn dog and nothing more when he’s a victim. Then Makima’s character ends up just being a sex symbol for the fan base, which her whole design is to be attractive that’s how she gets people to trust and believe her, but it ends up downplaying how scary and powerful she truly is. Like when people do the Gojo vs Makima fight they downplay her abilities and don’t give her an actual fair shot and make Gojo the clear winner when in reality it’s a much more interesting match up than they think. Gojo is seen as a sex object too but that’s another thing entirely. This isn’t about Gojo v Makima it’s about how people’s perspective changes the intention of the characters and the story and it reflects in real life. Sorry had to rant about that cause it really bothers me when it comes to make sexual assault not being taken seriously.
I think Helluva Boss has an incredible tone issue. A lot of jokes that were made early on are left out of the conversation when things get serious because- well, they were played for laughs. Obviously in this video, what happens with Moxxie, but also stuff like Stolas pretty openly sexually h*rassing Blitzo in a way he makes very clear he doesn't enjoy, Stella talking about how she wants Stolas murdered right in front of him and her daughter and it being played for a laugh, Blitzo's casual harassment of M&M (though that one continues into season 2), the fact that Stella's ab*se is played for a laugh in the first season, etc. I think it mostly comes from Helluva Boss figuring out what it wanted to be. The pilot episode is really nothing like what the series became, and I think the shift from an office comedy to a comedic drama can be felt heavily in the first season, especially the first half. I will mention on your point about victims of assault, let's be real for a moment. There is no victim who doesn't face discrimination, man or women, it's just different kinds. A man might be told he's lucky, he might be told he should have just pushed her off, he might be told he must have wanted it if his body was aroused, he might be told he's being over dramatic, he might be told he's weak or emotional, etc. A woman might be asked what she was wearing, where she was, was she alone when she "shouldn't" have been, did she "put herself in that situation", is she just "making it up to ruin his life", or "why didn't you bring it up sooner, why is it only being brought up now" or told that it's her biological desire to be r***ed, told it "wasn't that bad and could have been worse", told she shouldn't report it because it could "ruin his life", that it was a "momentary lapse he shouldn't pay the rest of his life for", or because it makes a cop's crime statistics look worse. She might also be subject to a ridiculous amount of body language scrutiny because a victim is apparently supposed to look a certain way. Acting like this is a double standard when- no, victims in general aren't taken seriously and are often blamed for what happened to them, I think buys into a narrative that's been cast by people trying to downplay these scenarios since Me Too. No victims are treated with respect, none of them are taken seriously, the *only* reason it became distasteful to make jokes about female victims is because people started speaking up. We need to start speaking up for men, while not downplaying what women go through. Feminists are often incredibly supportive of male victims because they know victims of all genders being uplifted is good for *everyone*.
Im glad someone said this. I read the title and in my mind said "finally..." Ive never seen helluva boss fully, but ive kept up on details about the show and verosika always felt kinda... Bitchy Only recently i found out about the Moxxie scene... And i didn't understand why people loved her so much. Yes she is a victim of Blitzos shitty actions but not every victim is a completely innocent person. They can still be a bad person as well
Just know that Viv has weird double standards and she has a really bad way to make characters defend their actions, prove they're innocent and just ways to turn good or not, dont expect it to make sense.
She still had a point about Blitz and gave him good advice and still did mature to a degree. And like...do you have to be a great person (especially in this show) to be likeable?
I'm just pissed off that the episode is clearly trying to paint Verosika as this 'hero' who is helping others get over Blitzo, when in reality, this would just continue to fuel people's hatred and violence, and they could never get to truly move on. Also not to mention the fact that she literally forces Stolas on stage and forces him to tell EVERYONE about his PRIVATE experience with Blitzo, what a hero!
3:40 agreed! Thats why in one of my projects under-age male is sexually assaulted by female and its not for comedy because society often ignores the facts that woman can be pedophiles and hurt men, i mean just because someone has different sex it doesn’t mean that they can’t be assholes, im a female and dislike how are woman treated, both genders can be bad people and do bad things, also just because it’s fiction it doesn’t excuse what it shows, portrayal of heavy topics like SA and rape need to be handled respectfully i mean, its ok if show wants to portray such themes as jokes but than it needs to stay joke throughout the whole show. because of double standards or overall poor portrayal of things like that affect how people see them in real life, because of that people who are victims of awful thing are afraid to speak up because of stereotypes and society’s misinterpretation.
I hate how the show and the fandom tries to act like she is this angel and girl boss for throwing a YEARLY party to show how much you are over one person, and inviting anyone who had at least flirted ONCE with that person. That isn't petty at all!! And she's helping so many people! isn't she great? 🥺
Things I gotta point out about this episode: - Why does Blitzo have like 100 exes? I mean, it's not impossible for someone to have that many, but I feel like it's a bit exaggerated. This is more of an opinion thing, I guess. - How does NO ONE recognize Stolas? Why does nobody care that a Goetia demon like Stolas is present, shouldn't the others straighten up and acknowledge that he's there, and also be surprised like "STOLAS dated BLITZO?" - How does no one notice Blitzo's there? Doesn't anyone look at his face and recognize him, doesn't anyone overhear him talking to Verosika? The music's not that loud, bruh, and he shows his face where anyone can see, come on.
The more I watch these types of videos, the more I see things I never saw in characters, especially negative. Might wanna use this to improve my writing about characters
The thing you said about men being called lucky reminded me so much of when I was telling my oc Granite's backstory to my friend and when I got to the part that he was taken advantage of my a grown woman when he was 12 my friend instantly said he was lucky. This might sound stupid, but that thing they said made me feel sick. I put that in granites backstory for a reason. It wasn't for s3xu4l gratification or anything. It's to show why he acts the way he does around women and why he's asexual. How am I smarter than a fully grown woman who constantly shows visual jokes of assault
I never really liked Verosika at the first place. Her design is just basic as hell, it's just like all the other characters in helluva, just 2 simple coloured combination( I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but since too many characters are appeared like that in the show, it's just...) But still, the main reason why I don't like Verosika it's because she doesn't have an interesting characteristic. To the show, she is just popstar, an shity ex to bliz, and that's basically all. She doesn't stand out as a character but just an accessory to bliz (or a tool to the show, to build up bliz I guess? But they are not really doing a good job tho, lol) And the same reason why I don't like mostly of the female characters in helluva, such as milly-just a wife and so on. The show obviously tried to give them more parts, but...Well, they tried.(Sorry about all the yapping, that was just my personal thoughts on the show. And yea, I'm not a fan. And btw I luv dis channel
I WAS ARGUING ABOUT THE SAME THINGS (regarding SA), BUT PEOPLE KEPT TELLING ME THAT "Its hell, you can expect everything to just be rainbow and happiness" ..Okay, then if that is the case, then Vivian should have made either dark jokes about SA or problems characters face involving SA - NOT BOTH IN THE SAME SHOW. She made Moxxie's and Husk's SA scenes all funny, but as soon as it comes to Stolas' (both by Blitzo and the guy from the party) and Angel Dust's (her faves btw.🥰), its suddenly serious and problematic? That shows her favoritism and hypocrisy. She decided to make some SA scenes more "significant" than others, and that is honestly messed up. I also almost never see people talking about how Stolas SA'ed Blitzo multiple times throughout the series. When I mention it, everyone tells me that "Blitzo secretly did not mind Stolas talking like that." Yes, but that's the thing! He SECRETLY did not mind(I still doubt that he didn't). As a normal person, when you flirt with someone who reacts the way Blitzo does, is the first thing that comes to your mind "Oh, they like it in secret. I'll keep going." or "I am clearly making them uncomfortable, I should stop." ??? LIKE WAKE UP GUYSSSSSSS😭😭😭
SA isn't funny, Viv. It's not a cute lil funny joke thing for everyone. Moxxie being harassed by not one but MULTIPLE people is terrifying to think of. *Please* vivzie, stop it. People of all genders that possibly has the trauma or PTSD of it watches your BS, how would you think they'll react!? I like the show, just not the writing half the time, the characters' actions, and just- overall- the creator.
She's one of my favorite characters, wish her in 'Apology tour' never happened. I came to love her for her design, her VA did amazing job as well and I believe Verosika fulfilled an episode villain role nicely. Just like there are Hazbin fans that like Valentino for his design (without defending or justifying his actions). I hate that 'Apology tour' made her 'oh she's just a hurt ex gf' and whole party thing was just bad. Verosika could be such a good villain, but she ended up being a victim of a shitty writing and I don't know how to feel about it now, since I still like her design and songs...
I 100% whole-heartedly agree. I really wish/hope that veronica's pettiness and toxicity gets adressed at some point because it's pretty obvious that she isn't over blitzø. You can tell that her saying that the party was to help others get over him was a lie based on the fact that she invited frickin' Dennis. Blitzø drunkenly made out with him once and made fun of his name (which obviously isn't out of the ordinary for him, considering how people at said party treated him) which definitely shouldn't be enough to earn him ex status. I also feel like people need to realise how fricked up a party where all the activities surround simulating harm to an *actual person* is. I'd understand if it was basically a normal party just with everyone having a past connection to this guy then sure. Understandable. *BUT* when you make custom clothes plushies, life-sized cakes of this actual person, it becomes an issue. Also, you cannot convince me at least ⅔ of the party never actually cared about blitzø and only went to hang out with a pop star and join a fun party. You just can't. I can already feel the rant seeping out of me, so I'm cutting myself off from this comment lol.
What bothers me is that they tried to make her sympathetic along with Blitzo, he has also threatened to SA Moxie and Millie if Moxie ever messes up a mission again and has sexually harassed him a couple of times but again, it’s suppose to be a joke according to the the show. I’m sorry but I can’t feel some sort of sympathy towards them when they get easily away with treating Moxie like that, yeah they’re fictional but it’s weird to play it off like it’s a joke but then make the characters who started doing those actions sympathetic
THIS! I had a problem with Blitz harassing and insulting Moxie, and with him stalking M&M. I get that he wants a relationship that’s like theirs, but if they’re not into you, then stop fucking butting into it.
People are always like “bUt hE wAnT's ThEiR ReLaTiOnShIp So hE StAlKs ThEm 😢!” Like, he can just *ask politely* for them to invite him on a date once in a while, he can just invite them to hang out or something. If Millie doesn’t mind him invading her pegging time, and he actually knows that, he can just ask her to invite him or give him relationship tips. You’re telling me they’re friends but he has to stalk them to ask for relationship advice? And while he does do some of this because he just wants to spend time with them, he spends the rest of it SAing them, the scene in Loo Loo land with the literal dolls he made of them wasn’t “goofy” or “classic blitz” it was CREEPY I honestly don’t find the whole “threeway” joke funny. If two people are in a healthy monogamous relationship, they DON’T WANT A THIRD Also, I made Blitz not sexualize my OC in her story because she’s a sex-repulsed asexual Irl, he’d go “how do you know if you’ve never porked anyone? I’ll help you practice”
I only just realized he threatend to rape Moxxie (I don't really count Millie in this cenerio). Why, why are Hazbin and Helluva by favorite shows. Why am I this fucked up.
Verosika says she feels like a bad person for being angry at Blitz. Really. If she felt like a bad person for being angry then she wouldn't gone through the trouble of taking his parking space and humiliates him at Ozzie. Also throws a party where she stabs a cake of him and forces Stolas to hate him even more. She is also stalking Blitz. It literally did not make any sense. She hasn't shown any signs of feeling like a bad person to Blitz. She sounds like a hypocrite. Because I don't think a person who felt bad at being angry at someone would not engage all that action at that individual. It was literally the stupidest bullshit I have ever heard. Also Brandon Rogers confirmed a while back that Blitz and Verosika relationship was equally toxic. It was a two sided thing and complicated but now I think Vivienne thought it’d be a better idea to retcon it for Stolitz just so she can use Ver again. Honestly I would have gone with this idea and make them settle their conflict at the end of Season 3.
@@rigboy1234 i know right? We don't anything about her other than hating on her (ex)husband and being a spoiled brat. We could get some more information about her, Like- her relationship to her daughter, her Hobbies and interests, atleast give her a few more personality traits.
The show's worst flaw really is inconsistancy and double standards. In both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. The S/A is probably the most famous example, but there's also the relayionships between some characters. For example, both Stolas and Asmodeus are high-ranking who date very low-ranking people. So, they have to hide their relationships from the public or else it'll be a catastrophe. But then, there's Beelzabub who is in the same rank as Ozzie and dates someone who is in the lowest rank of the hyrarchie and is completly open about it. Like, where's the logic in this?
Tbh I don't like Verosika either, me and some other people really dislike this character for the immature amount of pettiness she exhudes, though....knowing this fandom, people are afraid to speak up about their opinions because we got people chasing each other in mobs with pitchforks, you just spoke the truth some people needed to hear, and I'll say it loudly! PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO LOVE ANY CHARACTER THEY WANNA, Verosika is just...NO!
That scene with Moxxie was genuinely so unnecessary, like what tf was Vivziepop thinking when she added that? Outside of that scene though, Verosika is one of my favorites in Helluva Boss but I really wish Vivzie didn’t add THAT to her character
yeah, id rather instead of them SA him in that scene, it should've been one of those cartoon sequences when they beat him up instead. Like there was so many other ways to make that scene funny without using SA.
I'm not saying this to start a fight but I have a question do you know the definition of a succubus she kinda had to put that in it, imagine walking into a room FULL of them what ya thinks is gonna happen? Here definition!: A succubus is a female demon, popularized in religious folklore and mythology. The succubus demon was believed to be sexual in nature, appearing to men in dreams or in the physical world to seduce them, steal their energy and, in some cases, kill them. Again not being mean or anything I just wanna say bc I seen a lot of people being like why but that's what I think, I understand tho what you are saying it is kinda unnecessary ❤
FINALLY someone else who doesn’t like Verosika, dude everyone has always praised her character even since her first appearance and I never understood it. I still needed to see more from her past or development (same with Loona) but even from what we’ve gotten so far… I don’t really like her; she’s just another character who’s just there to me. I especially didn’t like her in apology tour cause the whole premise of dedicating a party to someone you hate is stupid, if I was Blitz I’d be flattered lol I also might be biased since Blitz is my fave character tho so.. :p (also a lot of the “angsty” or heavy dialogue is cringey to me still) I didn’t even take the Moxxie thing into account, either so that’s another weird thing she did. damn i be yappin,, i’m sorry
4:00 no cause I get that. I had to explain to one of my classmates and one of my friends that a man CAN get sa’d. (And gender has nothing to do with this, the classmate is a guy and the friend a girl. It’s sad people don’t know that men can be sa’d.)
people in this fandom love nothing more than making nstfw of the poor guy getting SA'd by strangers......... I mean, shipping is fine, but if you make content showing SA as hot, that's not okay
One thing I see that people don't bring up enough about this episode is that, although Blitz's commitment issues are really bad, he had every right to not want anything serious with any of the people at this party, in fact, most of these folks have never even dated him, they were just one-night-stands or quick hookups As important as it is for Blitz to apologize to Verosika for the way he handled things in their relationship and how it hurt her, he still had every right to leave the relationship, but the show seems more focused on the fact he dumped her rather than HOW he dumped her. Even Verosika herself is still more focused on that than him, so when he gets defensive about it, I honestly get it, he was shitty for how he did it, yes, but not for doing in it in the first place.
Coming from an episode of Family Guy Lois: “A woman can’t sexually harass a man.” Peter: “Why not?” Lois: “Because man like being touched by woman, it’s not harassment if you like it”
One of the main things that gets to me is that, like you said, Verosika didn’t know Blitzø and Stolas’ situation _at all_ and still gave Blitzø the advice of letting Stolas go, when (in my opinion) it was the _worst advice_ for her to give. I get that giving each other space might end up being beneficial, but I feel like it’s just dragging out the ‘Will they, won’t they?’ longer than necessary. Blitzø is _finally aware_ that Stolas genuinely loves him, and he’s kinda coming to terms with the fact he has feelings for Stolas too, but then instead of getting the chance to make it up to Stolas, Verosika tells him to let Stolas go without even knowing that they _actually do love each other._ It kinda felt like she assumed that because of the way she was dumped by him, and the one-night-stands attending the party, he couldn’t _possibly_ have actual feelings for Stolas. They could have resolved the situation right there (or at least once Stolas sobered up) but instead Stolas has gone off with someone else and Blitzø just left because now he thinks Stolas is better off without him because Verosika felt the need to give advice on a situation she knew _literally nothing about._
As a Verosika fan, I can understand the dislike around her SA-ing Moxxie, even if I sympathise with her in many ways (especially since out of all Blitzo's relationships I feel like there was the most evidence for her having a genuine, loving relationship with him even early on in the show than anyone else) and feel like a lot of her bitterness is justified, though I won't get into that here. However, I do feel the need to object to the argument about the party, though not for the reason you might think. To me it honestly feels like seasons 1 and 2 are completely different shows with many of their characters having personality traits in season 2 that just aren't there in season 1 and even different _backstories_ in some cases (see Moxxie). And the most important of these changes is that season 2 is solely focused on promoting Viv's favourite character Stolass (yes, I'm adding the second "s" intentionally) and justifiying the IMO incredibly toxic Stolitz ship, so of course they'd make Verosika look super petty by throwing a "Blitzo sucks" party to make the rapist owl look better. To go further, I feel like Viv actually HATES Verosika as a character, making a whole cavalcade of characters designed to overshadow her (see her being only given a single set of lines in Ozzie's and part 2 of the supposed season 1 finale being a filler episode with a Kesha furry rather than giving Verosika more screentime), so of course she'd also create a party so that she'd have an excuse to make the episode Stolass-centric, beat Blitz over the head with how "badly" he treated the ass by calling him out and of course rush Verosika's character arc instead of organically developing her (and of course making her unlikeable in the process). Then again, this could be me being too conspiracy-minded, but it does make a lot of sense to me.
I just like to say I love how open-minded you are despite loving Verosika. But anyways I totally agree with everything you said especially when you talked about how different the characters are previously portrayed from season 1 to season 2 especially with the direction the serious is going with the Stolitz train and I saw another comment saying how Viv and the writing team seem to have a fetish for introducing clearly villainous or antagonistic characters and then all of a sudden in their next appearance they are portrayed to be lost broken Souls who were treated bad one time and now we should sympathize for them.
@@alaiahwarner6714 That's a very good point, actually... Just look at Fizz and Asmodeus after Ozzie's. I'd argue it's a bit different in Verosika's case since at least to me there were some signs that Verosika was like this under the surface in season 1 (though of course it should've been handled much more organically than how it was) and of course that Viv doesn't like Verosika enough to give her the same amount of sympathy as her favourites (who all seem to be gay men).
@@Wanten-the-stormtrooper Exactly. If the characters themselves are not men who are gay and twinks then Viv will not give a fuk about those characters. I mean look at Millie and Loona or all the other female characters from both of her shows. They are not given any lick of nuance or care into their writing or given anything at all really.
It doesn't excuse the show, but there's a depressingly high following of people who LOVE to ship Moxxie with Verosika despite what she did to him. Granted, some of these are cowardly AUs in which "No no no, in this universe she didn't fiddle him so it's OK to ship them here!" but I don't get why people aren't more against it the way they react towards Valentino x Angel Dust (AT LEAST there's people vocally against that). Always rubs me the wrong way how there's a healthy backlash against that ship, but Moxxie/Verosika gets a pass.
What actually urked me on the Moxxie scene was not Verosika and her crew, but the fact that it was written as a "fill in the blank" side joke...I did not even get nor saw what happened because I'm not a big fan of Helluva Boss and (especially) Hazbin Hotel humour, and so I'm not watching carefully. The same exact thing happened for Sir Pentious scene and I hate it so much. The worst thing about these characters is their writer
There are people who wallow in their hate like verosika does. It might seem unreasonable and counter productive but that's just how some people are. But ur right she is kinda hypocritical at times.

Right? We’re literally in hell, they had all the chances of having a main character be the most fucked up kind of person imaginable, like, a pedophilic, necrophiliac, rapist, murderer, all in one. That also ends up marrying their sister because that’s happened before
But no we get an odd mix of “THEY’RE IN HELL THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO BE BAD PEOPLE!!” and “but they’re such victims 🥺”

(Not saying you would do that, just putting an example)
It honestly hurts me how someone can lie about such a serious thing and then still live a normal life, while they ruined someone elses life.
I feel more bad for Blitzo than I do for Stolas or Verosika or any of his “Ex’s.”

Verosika: I’m over you
Also Verosika: Throws an annual party dedicated to hating one bad ex.
Tsundere moment.
I don't think she's meant to ACTUALLY be over him, y'know. That isn't the problem here.
This is a thing I've been saying too 😭
Like...
The whole party thing was like the most fanfic thing ever. It genuinely feels like something you'd see on Wattpad.
Literally just making this all take place at a normal halloween party instead of an I hate Blitz pary would have done SO MUCH to improve this episode on basically every level.

@@SodaFrizz666SA que es?
FR the inconsistencies between s1 and 2 are insane

Also knowing she didn't even do that herself.
@@guineapig5858 yeah i totally agree; thse two making out just made me uncomfortable knowing those two dont even know eachother and one is hammered
Couldnt agree more 👌

It was a two sided thing and complicated but now I think Vivienne thought it’d be a better idea to retcon it for Stolitz just so she can use Ver again.
I wonder if he would still defend Verosika if she and Moxxie were genderswapped...
@@demondog9660funny enough I did ask about that. They said the same thing and something about that earth and hell aren’t comparable and morals aren’t the same(even though their society is basically the same, and there are laws and prisons. I will give him he did acknowledge male SA shouldn’t be joked as and take seriously, he wasn’t blind to it.

@@RoxarHuntley if you had actually read what I said you would’ve seen “this has nothing to do with ships” And not once in that entire comment did I mention a single ship.
my main OC for Helluva is aromantic asexual and she got looked over, shunned, and sexualized after coming out. this was for her lore and trauma, she lived in Lust before moving to Pride at 21 for work
She had best friends throughout her school journey, each representing what she was going through during that period of time. in college, she realized she was ace and after facing backlash, she started a club to educate people on asexuality and spoke about treatment of ace people in the lust ring, this was meant to highlight how she doesn't take shit from anyone, which got her into IMP
where's your excuse, Viv?
(I don't wanna brag, I'm bad at lots of things, and theres a gap in said OC's story)
Tbh, I never had strong feelings for Verosika until seeing this video, but honestly? Seeing this video does put her in the list of "Characters that I wish I could like but I can't"
Besides from that, this video was really well put together!

Yes, I don't support what Verosika did and don't appreciate how it was played for laughs and that specific aspect of her character I may dislike however I do like other elements on her character so I'm more-so neutral to her than I am disliking of her since her being a total creep isn't her entire character (ex.

@@Darkgeranium127 blame it all on Vivzie’s inconsistent writing.
Is not that it doesn't work, its that helluva boss does it the wrong way
For example, in invader zim the main character is an evil alien invader that wants to takeover or straight up try to destroy earth but they succed in making him sympathetic in some scenes
The point is, you can have a character causing edgy atuff for laughs and you can make your audience care for that character, you just need to know hoe to do it
I mean Cartman is pure evil really and you can make evil characters sympathetic and have it work too, hell in Mother 1 the alien who ends up becoming a icon of evil actually has a rather sympathetic backstory despite what Giygas becomes while the more human villian Porky...while somewhat sympathetic with the abuse he went through as a kid...arguably becomes a even bigger monster then something like Giygas who is almost like the embodiment of evil at that point.

I always hated how characters Blitz fucked over (intentionally or not) resort to antagonizing/publically shaming him and those associated with him and use Blitz's shitty behaviour as a justification for their shitty behaviour.

What pissed me off the most is when she was like “Just say good for him hope he gets laid” when Blitz was upset with Stolas dancing with the guy. To be honest. I think I’m pretty annoyed that all Verosika talks about is Blitz- okay, girl, you’re over him but all you do is spite and talk shit and THINK about him. Are you sure you’re over him? To me, it feels like she has something left for him that she can’t drop whatsoever
Look. I swear that wasn’t because I like Blitzika, it just really feels like, for some reason, hating Blitz is Verosika’s whole fucking world, instead of just moving on and forgetting about him- c’mon, love. Please just forget about him and be neutral
Also also.
There's a reason why the only ship I like is Denji x Power, she didn't freaking sexual harass him and treated him as a genuine person.
Finally, someone else who doesn't like Verosika. I haven't been able to find anyone else that doesn't.
Surprised that so many people do.
GOD finally someone else has these opinions -
Im glad someone said this. I read the title and in my mind said "finally..."
Ive never seen helluva boss fully, but ive kept up on details about the show and verosika always felt kinda... Bitchy
Only recently i found out about the Moxxie scene...

I would probably like Verosika if the sa scene didn’t exist
Things I gotta point out about this episode:
- Why does Blitzo have like 100 exes? I mean, it's not impossible for someone to have that many, but I feel like it's a bit exaggerated. This is more of an opinion thing, I guess.
- How does NO ONE recognize Stolas? Why does nobody care that a Goetia demon like Stolas is present, shouldn't the others straighten up and acknowledge that he's there, and also be surprised like "STOLAS dated BLITZO?"
- How does no one notice Blitzo's there?
How am I smarter than a fully grown woman who constantly shows visual jokes of assault
poor Granite
Her waist is WAY too slim!

I WAS ARGUING ABOUT THE SAME THINGS (regarding SA), BUT PEOPLE KEPT TELLING ME THAT "Its hell, you can expect everything to just be rainbow and happiness"
..Okay, then if that is the case, then Vivian should have made either dark jokes about SA or problems characters face involving SA - NOT BOTH IN THE SAME SHOW.
Somebody make a diss track about her.
I get that he wants a relationship that’s like theirs, but if they’re not into you, then stop fucking butting into it.
maybe those two do deserve each other after all
People are always like “bUt hE wAnT's ThEiR ReLaTiOnShIp So hE StAlKs ThEm 😢!”
Like, he can just *ask politely* for them to invite him on a date once in a while, he can just invite them to hang out or something. If Millie doesn’t mind him invading her pegging time, and he actually knows that, he can just ask her to invite him or give him relationship tips. You’re telling me they’re friends but he has to stalk them to ask for relationship advice? And while he does do some of this because he just wants to spend time with them, he spends the rest of it SAing them, the scene in Loo Loo land with the literal dolls he made of them wasn’t “goofy” or “classic blitz” it was CREEPY
I honestly don’t find the whole “threeway” joke funny. If two people are in a healthy monogamous relationship, they DON’T WANT A THIRD
Also, I made Blitz not sexualize my OC in her story because she’s a sex-repulsed asexual
Irl, he’d go “how do you know if you’ve never porked anyone? I’ll help you practice”
I only just realized he threatend to rape Moxxie (I don't really count Millie in this cenerio). Why, why are Hazbin and Helluva by favorite shows. Why am I this fucked up.
don't worry, one of the partners doesn't mind being stalked and harassed! now it's a-ok!
I mean, who cares about the consent of the second partner?
Verosika is easily. EASILY my most hated Helluva Boss characters. Even more than Stella.
Agreed
You can't really hate Stella when she was made the most basic evil character possible just to make Stolas more appealing.
@@rigboy1234 i know right? We don't anything about her other than hating on her (ex)husband and being a spoiled brat. We could get some more information about her, Like- her relationship to her daughter, her Hobbies and interests, atleast give her a few more personality traits.

Me but with stolas:
Me when it’s not even the character it’s the writer

:p (also a lot of the “angsty” or heavy dialogue is cringey to me still) I didn’t even take the Moxxie thing into account, either so that’s another weird thing she did.

people in this fandom love nothing more than making nstfw of the poor guy getting SA'd by strangers.........
I mean, shipping is fine, but if you make content showing SA as hot, that's not okay
One thing I see that people don't bring up enough about this episode is that, although Blitz's commitment issues are really bad, he had every right to not want anything serious with any of the people at this party, in fact, most of these folks have never even dated him, they were just one-night-stands or quick hookups
As important as it is for Blitz to apologize to Verosika for the way he handled things in their relationship and how it hurt her, he still had every right to leave the relationship, but the show seems more focused on the fact he dumped her rather than HOW he dumped her. Even Verosika herself is still more focused on that than him, so when he gets defensive about it, I honestly get it, he was shitty for how he did it, yes, but not for doing in it in the first place.

Coming from an episode of Family Guy
Lois: “A woman can’t sexually harass a man.”
Peter: “Why not?”
Lois: “Because man like being touched by woman, it’s not harassment if you like it”

Lois’s words, not mine
YAYYY MY FAVORITE TH-camR JUST POSTEDDDD :)
I think that if Rolando was still alive, he would’ve gave Stolas and Ver the same treatment that he gave Blitz.
