Are you looking for the ultimate rain waterproof jacket without breaking the bank? Columba may have the solution with their OUTDRY lineup of jackets. Enjoy the video!
Outdry performs much better than goretex. I install windows for new residential construction and when your on an extension ladder you sometimes get positioned directly underneath a drip line from the rain as it flows down from the roof and its comparable to someone turning on a water hose and holding it 3-4 ft above your head. Ive tried goretex and eventually it will wet-out but ive worked hours underneath drip lines and the outdry continues to keep me dry.
@@krzysztofwasiak2018 Its not as breathable as goretex but its definitely more breathable than something like the 100% pvc/polyester type rain coat. It does have underarm zipper vents for venting but if your work is vigorous and fast paced you will still sweat but during the winter (average of 30-35°F degrees) I usually just wear a longsleeve wicking shirt and then the jacket because I know ill be hot enough to break a sweat within about 10 mins of carrying/climbing extension ladders and putting in windows if im wearing a hoodie underneath the jacket.
It doesn't have the zippered vents. That said it doesn't feel hot but I wear it usually on the rainy cool days keeps my body just at the right temperature.
I have several cheap raincoats, I work as a courier and ride a moped, and at first not all raincoats hold water and after a few uses they are usually not waterproof.
Correct me if I'm wrong...PFG stands for Performance Fishing Gear. I own one of these. The outer shell appears to be identical to the Titanium version shown in the video. I prefer the PFG version because it has two additional front "envelope style" front pockets. I'm not sure if the Titanium version has pit-zips but the PFG does.
Can you show in the video how the hood sits on your head? You are too close to the camera so that part does not get shown. I want to see how it falls over the eyes or not... Thanks.
Nice jacket, BUT there's a bright orange tag on my nice grey jacket that looks like it's supposed to be removed - unfortunately not so. Everyone points it out saying "...you forgot to remove a tag...". STUPID!!!
I have 2 jackets OutDry Ex Eco II Tech (titanium) and, after 3 years, the outside membrane starts to have small holes in it despite treating it well (everyday use, not even going to terrains where the membrane could be damaged). It is no longer waterproof. This is not durable. I do not recommend this product.
Buy Patagonia.. regardless of how long you’ve had, they just replace anything. If the model isn’t made anymore, you’ll get whatever’s newest. I’ve actually used it on a rain jacket, the warranty. I just wanted to exchange a five year old jacket for a smaller size. They did it, for free. I was amazed. Also, the Slate Sky I got doesn’t sound plasticy and is so much more comfortable than what I’m used to.
You are testing a jacket supposed to be super rain-proof and you commit 20 seconds of entire video to show how it reacts to few drops of water. Shame on you!
I got a new Patagonia Rain Shadow and wanted to make a review (since there aren’t any) and dude.. it’s a lot of work. I ended up using the selfie cam and just showing me wearing it lol. He did good.. coulda used more b-roll of getting it wet though agreed.
The jacket looks like the 'Small' would fit somebody who is 6'4 and overweight. And sleeves are not suppose to be crinkled like that. And that bulge at the middle zipper is a serious design flaw. Sorry but Columbia is known for making cheap clothing and these flaws are very disappointing.

Is it breathable? I had jacket that was 100% waterproof but I was still wet as I was sweating inside the jacket.

These look great, I kinda want one as a backup jacket. My current rain gear is nice but not made to layer underneath.
Tell me more about the space grade fabric
Does this jacket has under arm zippered vents to get rid of heat & is it good for hiking as well? pl & thanks.

What do you think of the Columbia “Titanium” line up versus between the Columbia “PFG”, which one is the higher end version??
Titanium is considered Columbias HIGH performance. While PFG is just named performance. Titanium should be their top of the line.

I wonder if this columbia is good, and is this also temporary in terms of waterproofing, after a few uses it will also become water resistant?
It's like rubber they are awesome
How much does it weight?
What weight are you at 5'8" to gauge fit?
Does it have a drawcord on the hood?
No drawcord on hood. It has a stiff cap on top of the hood that shields from the elements and a velcro to adjust the cap height.
This is without pants?
This membrane it works awesome, but outer finish of this jacket looks so rubberized like pvc, personally I don't like that looking.

It's not a test fo this waterproof jacket
