    Fantastic boat, many good ideas and interesting solutions! Just one observation, are the hydrogeneration graph axis labels @ 16:20 correct or could them possibly be inverted?

    • @LoanwordEggcorn
      @LoanwordEggcorn 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the labels are incorrect. It should make about a kilowatt of power at about 10 knots.

    I really wonder about sunbed area use. still couldn't understand why Windelo setting big sun bed on there. Is it have any other use for sun bed area? is it possible to clean it to have more large living area?

    • @LoanwordEggcorn
      @LoanwordEggcorn 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a sun bed during the day, and a watch bed at night for couples sailing at night. Most crusing sailboats are operated by couples, and when sailing at night, they take turns sleeping and keeping watch. Also the bed in the salon makes the space above the bed in the cabin taller.

    no wiper on captain windscreen? i think you should use bigger electric motor and increase the speed in case running from pirates or running from big storm, instead of that having a generator without fuel that can charge the battery all the time...the boat should have a cctv at top front, back, left and right and also night vision camera....maybe all the room have tv or karaoke for entertainment.

    Is the basalt material less flammable as fiberglass, or as flammable?

    • @LoanwordEggcorn
      @LoanwordEggcorn 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Neither glass nor basalt are flammable. They're basically rock. The plastic used to bind them in a plastic composite and any plastic foam core can be and usually are flammable.

    Its an impressive vessel and will no doubt evolve further refinements.
    The company might do well to put together a film illustrating the advantages of using Basalt fiber compared to traditional GRP and Carbon fiber..

      There was a couple of very useful and insightful articles in
      Yatching world
      On new materials in boat building specifically with a greener approach. They also featured the Low latitudes race boat series ...designed to cope with growler ice. The name was Volcanic and it was of course built of Basalt.
      As a Environmental scientist and Geologist I know its a winner compared to carbon and Glass fiber.. it also discusses the recyclability of the materials
      and resins used.

    Is the plastic foam in the center of the basalt closed-cell foam? I noticed some larger boats have really heavy-duty front doors towards the bow. I assume in case they take a large wave over the bow. What happens if a large wave hits the front?

    • @LoanwordEggcorn
      @LoanwordEggcorn 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most waves don't reach a forward cockpit due to how far inboard it is from the gunwales.
      In a really large storm, one would close the plastic at the very front of the cockpit and close the sliding doors to the salon.

    Are the windows bullet proof? In a hard storm, could it make it through? I like all of the light, until the water starts pouring in.
