      I just repaired the broken ground wire and it's running great! I am so happy Justin made this video.

    Similar issues. Replaced cam shaft sensor. Checked fuel pressure and it's steady at 55. The next step is to check the wire and crankshaft sensor. Since the wire issue has happened to more than one person, it could be an issue.

      Update. I went under and found the crankshaft sensor, but low and behold, I had two spots that were rubbing on the CV axle boot.
      One of the spots completely wore through the sheathing and through the black wire for the crankshaft position sensor. Just the rubber insulation was hanging on. Maybe one strand of wire, but it was probably touching and separating intermittently.
      I removed the sheathing and soldered the wire together, used a shrink tubing over it and placed it all in some plastic wire loom.
      I then found a bolt to fit that hole there. I suspect the factory intended to use that hole for a clamp on the wire loom. I made a couple inch long metal bracket and bolted it so it keeps the wire loom away from the CV axle boot.
      My test drive was good. Also it would buck anywhere from 2500 to 4000 from before. Now it ran smooth up past 5000 rpm.
      I still have four codes showing, but my reader socket doesn't work. I suspect last owner messed it up by adding a set of meters that plugged into it. Neither I, not two different auto parts stores could read it from the plug.
      Not sure how I will clear them if the problem is gone. Maybe there is a battery disconnect and reset that can be done.
      I am stoked that I found your video. I never would have found that problem on my own. The mechanic is due in three days. I may be able to cancel.

    I'm having an OBD 2 port no power no ground not sure which one yet. Low voltage on both 02 sensors and code for Crankshaft sensor. Think this could be my issue on 2004 PT Cruiser I'm going crazy with a capital C.. Thanks for the broad cast! !!

    Thanks so much for the video, but my quiestion is, did you realize the problem was the wire because of the OBDII scanner?, thanks so much. Regards.

    I am having that same issue and the main ground has been rubbing on the cv boot...Were you able to figure out the issue???

    • @JnJShiffler
      @JnJShiffler  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it was the crackshaft wire rubbing on the cv boot by the oil filter (as mentioned in the "show more" comments above) I think I made another video.

      Justin i have the same problem but on my car the black wire which is connected to the alternator was cut by the cv boot. would that cause the same problem your car had?

    • @JnJShiffler
      @JnJShiffler  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think not. Are you sure it was an alternator wire? It may have been the same wire I had issues with as I think that's the only wire running over the CV axle on the passenger side. What fault code you getting? Same one? See my video info for the key method that will get dash to display fault code.
