This was my first mechanical watch and one day at work I ran into an owner of the real deal. Mine had the Bond Nato though and he commented "nice watch" as I replied laughingly "not as nice as yours". We then put them on the desk and compared them, with the biggest difference by far being the feel of the bezel action.. I never felt anything like the bezel of the Submariner since. Overall it was nice to talk to somebody wearing a watch 100-times as expensive without being looked down upon.
Yeah its 1 of the only invictas i have left. Just quality control on that brand is iffy. I had several that coulsnt withstand swimming in the pool without building inside condensation or leaking a bit.
I think you will find most of the hate is because Invita makes outrageous claims for what the price of their watches MSRP should be, on top of some really wild (although sometimes good) designs
I think that invicta not only changed the modern man's perception of what real men should be wearing on their wrists it took fashion culture and styling by storm . when one is so used to wear a certain style for so many years it is a challenge to simply adjust to anything other than what you are used to . I own quite a few larger watches but I also own not many but a in my opinion a considerable sum of smaller diameter time pieces . it is like clothing you Don't wear shorts and a lumberjack type shirt to a wedding . this being said invicta regardless of size is jammed packed with inordinately BAM BAM BAM styling & profiling . furthermore even though invicta timepieces agree somewhat oversized for many occasion to not really be worn it puts most men with the insecurities of having to dress up .
I love the Invicta . I have owned and own many nice watches: 14060 sub , the new sub, the old 36 mm Explorer and the new iteration at 39mm. IWC's, Omegas's etc etc so many. the Invicta is a bloody good watch ;period. I think it has a fair degree of inverted snobbery myself...its been dished so much that I find that there is a lot of love for this hardy no nonsense piece. Perhaps we are all getting a bit sick of being so totally ripped off by manufacturers. When you realise that you can pick up an ETA 2824-2 for $60 it makes you wonder where the other $600 went on an average piece.. sapphire $30. The Bigger question here is why this is so little in cost but why are other brands so expensive? I have had so many watches but so few were actually worth the money. the £5000 Rolex I am wearing as I type this is so not worth £5000. Come off your high horses watch snobs and smell the coffee!. I feel a whole other conversation brewing :)
As I stated in your last review of this watch the watch snobs that spent $8000 for a Rolex lose their minds when they see a watch at this price points infringe on their territory ... I find that quite satisfying ... Good video
@David Topchiev i am a luxery watch sales man. The invicta is good for th money, but i think a cosc or META certified watches are a little bid better than a 150 dollar watch. 2nd of all the overall finishing is waaaaaaaaay better
I had this watch in the two-tone blue dial version. It was one of the most accurate watches I owned, running about +2 seconds per day. My best friend commented on how much he liked the watch, so I gave it to him. He wears it happily as his "good watch" for two years now. A good value for the money.
Yeah, I only tested it for a couple of weeks before I gave it away. But my daily beater is a Steinhart that is built much better but is not as accurate as that Invicta was. I guess it should be built better, it cost five times as much.
Bottom line; if you aren't a watch purist who demands a certain pedigree with near perfect fit & finish, these Invicta 8926OB & similar models offer a lot of value for the money. Why hate the brand for their gaudy, over-sized pieces, when this model is a decent watch. Can you not appreciate a Corvette if you dislike other Chevy's?
Just purchased my first Invicta, Pro Diver, automatic, submariner homage. It's one of the least expensive watches in my collection, but one of my highest value time pieces to date. Is it perfect, of couse not, but it has so many positives even before you get to that low price (and keeps great time). Other than their Pro Divers, the rest of their brand is mostly hedious to me. I can appreciate the hate for this particular model when I think of the higher out of pocket cost I (and others) have spent for little or no more discernable quality in a number of well regarded name brand watches. This purchase has opened my eyes to the watch industry's smoke and mirrors regarding marketing/high pricing vs. value/quality in a time piece. When your heart connects to any watch, regardless of price, then that is what counts....and that my friend is priceless ! Great review, thank you.
That makes sense. I'm honestly not familiar with any of their other offerings, but if they do have some genuinely bad watches I can see why people might just write off the whole brand. But this one certainly isn't awful in it's own right. Thanks for watching.
Yeah, they make some gawdy, pimp daddy stuff....but then again they make all sorts of watches including many classic-style watches. For the money you get a lot of watch. Especially the automatic ones. I had other brands of automatic watches that lost a lot of time. My old Invicta Grand Diver -that was several years old when I got it- has never lost time. It gains about a second a day, but that is not so bad compared to one make and model of automatic watch I have that lost 5 minutes a day...that other brand gets fawned on.
Ain't nothing wrong with the big gawdy watches , some people love that shit,no it's not for everybody but they do have some pretty intriguing and detailed designs , and yes some are ugly. Simple fix, just don't don't buy stuff you don't like , if you like something why should the brand matter
Nice watch. I could wear this everywhere, and with all types of clothes. And "no batteries required"! Very classy, classic look. I will order this from Amazon.
I have worn my 40mm Pro Diver/NH35 every single day for the last 5 years. Work, play, gym, beach, pool-- super accurate, takes a beating, no water issues. (I do not shower with it.) Other than some minor scuffing on my (black) bezel, it looks great. I too would prefer it without the INVICTA placed along the side edge of the case, but quite frankly that is all but invisible when wearing the watch. I recently bought 2 more to change up my wrist look, and even my very watch-savvy friends have given compliments.
I've had my 9094OB since January of last year (it's now November) and I absolutely love it. For $50-$100 it's an absolutely wonderful watch. It's not a Rolex in terms of quality but you'd be nuts to expect that, and really, the build quality is just fine. The dial insert will get scratched but many watches that cost $500 don't have ceramic inserts too anyway. The movement is pretty nice and for $80 it's very decent. Overall, a very very nice watch at a very very nice price.
I've had mine for about 6 years and it's losing time... a bit more than "seconds per day" - but it's been great so I"m getting another one! Great review, thanks!
Fantastic unbiased review, JBF! I bought an 8926 approx 1 yr ago out of the same curiosity you had and came to the same conclusions. Mine runs 5-10 sec fast per day. Hate the Invicta engraving on side of case, although it's hardly visible on wrist. I didn't like the polished inner links so I buffed them down with 3M Trizact 3000 grit sandpaper for a more uniform brushed finish. Also wish the lume wasn't so yellow-greenish, but as you said...for the price it's a great watch. I have associates with Subs of various vintages. I think the reason they hate it so much is because they consider it a copy and possibly because it indeed looks very much like their watches for a fraction of the price. There is no reason why Seiko could not put this far superior movement in the SNKs , SNZs and SKXs. The hacking and winding ability are superb. Seiko laughs all the way to the bank using the primitive NON-HACKING, NON-WINDING 7S26 in those models.
Thanks for watching David, and for the comments. Your point about the 7s26 in a number of Seiko watches. I couldn't agree more. It may be a reliable movement, but I think it's time to put the 7s26 out to pasture and upgrade the SNK/SNZ/SKX models to the 4r series.
I wish my Rolex datejust was this accurate. It's not. Oh Well for the price of 30 of these amazing Invicta Pro-Divers I can have my Rolex serviced. I would rather buy 30 Pro-Divers of every color. Great video love Invicta Pro-and Grand Divers. Thanks for sharing.
I like Invicta watches very much and I own several myself. My favorite is the "Sea Spider" models of which I own several. However, I personally believe that every man should invest in a quality timepiece. A quality timepiece is not only an investment, but it is something of value that he can pass down to his children. In a culture where all we mostly see Apple and Samsung watches on people's wrists, it's refreshing to see an adult wearing an adult watch! Only an adult with a proper watch can stand apart from the children who partake in the electronic watch market. I am not saying Apple watches are bad, but these are not timepieces, these are phones on a wrist! Of the pricey, but still somewhat affordable watch brands, I would always recommend "Victorinox" "Breitling" and "Tag Heuer". Of the aforementioned, I own one of each and my boys have already picked the watch they will be getting when I am gone. Sure, it's great to own a so-called disposable watch, but it's also good to own a quality timepiece!
Paid 46 dollars for my pro diver. Mine has the quartz movement. I've abused the hell out of it and it still looks OK and works great. I would definitely buy one again in the future. I too don't get the hate. Unless the haters are hating on it to justify wasting thousands of dollars on a watch.
I think the hate is cognitive dissonance. It's 70% of the watch for about 1.5% of the money. I've had one for about 8 years and it's worked correctly without exception.
Going to have this one and The Blue one, made an order and now happily waitin them to come. Thanks for the review, I already feel peaceful and comfortable, even when i still haven't got them yet ;)
I just started looking into watches. For a year and a half I’ve been wearing a Casio Ana/Digi combo that I picked up when I couldn’t find my Luminox 3000. Just recently I found the Luminox and almost on cue the Casio watch band broke. So instead of getting a new band for it I got a new band and battery for the Luminox that I bought in 2004. I don’t know about accuracy but it still works and the tritium is still bright enough after 14 years. I always thought that to get an automatic watch you had to spend multiple thousands of dollars. Being a disabled veteran I just won’t ever be able to do that. But I have discovered some brands recently that are much more affordable. I intend to pick up one of these Invicta pro divers soon as my first automatic watch. I also like some of the Armida and Deep Blue watches also. Great review!
I bought one way back when they first came out with the Miyota movement. I can honestly say I have beat the crap out of the watch, I wore it to work, the beach, doing work around the yard....etc and I can say yeah, its a good watch. Let the haters hate......you get a lot for your money.
I bought an Invicta 8926brb from Amazon 8 days ago & so far, I love the watch. I set the time to my iPhone when I first put it on & in 8 days it's gained just 15 seconds. I paid $92 for the watch & the nice thing about the brb model is that it comes with a Saphire crystal as opposed to mineral crystal. As you mentioned, the bezel is quite stiff to turn, but that's really my only criticism, & I think that to pay less than $100 for a watch that is accurate to within 2 seconds per day is outstanding value.
After 3 months I'm averaging +2.3 sec/day. My most accurate automatic yet. My bezel has broken in nicely too. I've done a snowflake mod on mine as well. I love this thing. I only wish this was a 42mm.
My Invicta pro diver has been to hell and back .... runs perfectly ! Owned it for 3 years , It’s battered, scratched BUT continues to keep great time ! Love Invicta .
I just bought an invicta; a middle of the road model as far as how attention grabbing it is. I went for a "women's" watch [a chunky 38mm one that looks like it wears more like a 40]. The main reason I got it? "Abalone" face. I just love the oceanic, rustic, kinda bohemian, handmade look it gives it. I'm well aware that it's unlikely to be real, but as someone who grew up on an island and spent a lot of time at the beach collecting shells, the "abalone" looks good to me. In my internet-wide search I found no other watch with that detail that fit the bill as far as looks and price, so I chose the Invicta. It seems that more masculine watches with abalone are rare, and I get it; only more artsy, eccentric men would wear it. Another reason I wanted to add an Invicta to the collection is because I enjoy having a "controversy" piece. That's why I have a hi point along with a glock. Hi points are sort of the invictas of the gun world. Anyway, as long as pple aren't posturing with their relatively inexpensive timepieces and appreciate them for what they are, they should rock it and not be apologetic about it. If you can get one for sub $200 at most, invicta offers SOME nice ones, and your's is a good example. All watch companies have things we like and dislike, so I wholeheartedly agree with you; it's not reasonable to reject Invicta outright do to some ugly offerings. A guy putting pple down for wearing anything sub $1000 is just as offputting as a gaudy watch, cause class isn't about money, but rather character. Great unpretentious vid! Thank you.
Thanks for watching Epifanio. Funny you make the Hi-Point comparison. In all my years of being a part of that hobby I never actually fired one. Plenty of Glocks, along with numerous others though. 1911 is my favorite pistol platform though.
I personally love my Invicta Pro Diver. Its definitely my cheapest watch (got it on Prime Day for $55) , Its also one of my most accurate watches at keeping time. I also like the Invicta logo on the second hand. One of the first things I did with this watch, I added some silicone lube to the threads and inside of the crown, took the back off to also lube up the o-ring, and added some lube to the bezel. These few things improved the watch alot.
This is a thumbs up and this is the watch that you store an extra one away of. You use this watch while you mow the lawn, garden and work on your car etc....
I have owned this watch for years. At the beach, the pool, & blistering heat and humidity of Central Florida. Still accurate, you can do anything with this watch. A real bargain.
To put things in greater perspective. A new NH36A movement, costs just under $40! I currently own one of the older versions with the miyota 8215. It's over 20 yrs old, and it gains about 15 seconds per day. The one thing that bugs me is that it's not a hacking movement. Otherwise, it's been very reliable, and I can only imagine it would be even better with the Seiko movement. I think I'll order a new one today!
You do some of the best reviews I've seen, as far as the watch I think it's pretty good ,the branding on the side doesn't bother me when it's on you don't see it !
Great review my friend!! Look forward to more reviews from you. I like that you talked about the accuracy of a normal user. I agree with you in the hr markers being so small. I own the 8926 for over 5 years now, with the Miyota Movement, and Japan Movement written by the 6 hr on the dial. It is still working perfect, it is gaining 3 second per day in my case. Great watch!!
I agree I started with a seiko SKX 007 back in 1986. I bought one of these Invicta divers I have had it for 2 years and it works very well. I have went on and bought 2 more seikos, Sarbo17 Alpinist ,Love it and a SKX 175 Pepsi . I just got a crazy deal on a Hamilton Frogman 1000 meter 3300 feet water resistance my First Swiss automatic. I believe that I have the watch collecting disease now, I love the Seiko watches and this invicta is working for me very well.
I bought one of these Invictas recently, also paying about $55, and so far I'm very happy with it. The watch and band look great and I've gotten several compliments. I set the time when I first received it, about four weeks ago, and since then it has gained about ten seconds. That's good enough for me. And contrary to the video, it's not that I "couldn't afford" a Rolex or some other expensive watch, because I CAN afford it. But I'd rather have this Invicta (along with my Seiko Pulsar, which cost me about $80 and has been keeping even better time for the past 15 years) than WASTE my money on some totally overpriced piece of jewelry.
drglebov why not buy any of the Seiko sarbs?? ORIENT bamino?? Tissot visdodate? Seiko padi divers?? I mean IF you had the money for a $8k submariner I don't see how watchs that cost from $130- $450, would be an issue................
Been watching all the Invicta reviews on TH-cam and finally decided to buy one from Amazon for less than USD80.... The Invicta 18160 Grand Diver. My conclusion? For the price, it's not bad at all. Solid end links, Seiko NH35 movement, above standard bracelet compared to USD100 entry level Seikos... Probably assembled by Seiko Malaysia themselves. All in all, Invictas are still a better purchase than a Daniel Wellington....or some fashion watch... Good review JustBlueFish.... Keep it up and smile a little will ya! lol!
I recieved mine today and I absolutely love it! I really dont care what other people say or think. All that matters is what I think. For the price Im not complaining. Also, I love the Invicta writing on the side. I think it looks great! Whats the sense of owning a 10,000 dollar watch if youre affraid to wear it? Even if I was rich, I would never spend ten grand on a watch, that's ludicrous!
Bought same model with little different bezel but I love it.. it’s for 2 days late 5 seconds.. ticking is not really loud... Date is changing exactly at midnight as all Swiss do and having original Seiko which date is switching between 0:00 and 3:00 this watch much better ... Rotating - I do never do that so I don’t care about it honestly... TJMax for $79 is pretty good purchase.. I was really critical about this brand but it’s good so far .. so I like it ...
Doubling up on other commenters here, but I don't think the issue most people have with INVICTA is this particular watch. The vast majority of their product line is devoted to over sized, or fake jewel encrusted bezel monstrosities that very few people view as serious time pieces.
I have never bothered to look at Invicta prior to getting this watch, so my only frame of reference was the blanket statements I've seen from people saying "Invicta Sucks". It makes more sense if people mean specific watches other than this one, because honestly this 8926ob is pretty decent.
Actually there are very few invicta watches that feature diamonds or gemstones. Your statement is completely false. The size of a watch and its design is irrelevant when we are discussing quality. If a person is impressed with the pro diver they will be equally impressed with ANY of their reserve level pieces. The quality is hands down the best value on earth. Nobody can touch them for their bang for buck. Anyone who says otherwise is using taste to rationalize their stance, not quality.
They're hating it..... Of course, they lost fortunes on a similar watch (rolex)...... At least shape like. The invicta pro diver is a surprisingly good watch, with the best looks. 👌
If you've spent 10K - 15K on a Rolex & along comes Invicta Pro Diver at a fraction of the price. You'd be unhappy too. The Invicta Pro Diver & Invicta 1953 are indeed the Rolex of value for money. In fact Rolex should give a free Invicta Pro Diver with every Rolex Sub they sell. So you can wear the Invicta & lock the Rolex up in a safe.
At the end of the day you buy what you want and what YOU like, not what someone else tells you to buy. I've had an Invicta Pro Diver 40mm in gold for several years and it's never let me down, it's on a grey nato strap with gold hardware and looks fantastic. It sits alongside my 17 yr old Omega, Seiko "Arnie", Orient Kano, Seiko Kinetic, Ingersoll Tank, my G Shock tough solar which in reality is the only watch you will probably ever need, my 26 year old Citizen and my dad's old Avia from 1961. I wear them all, they are all different, cost vastly different sums but were all chosen by me, except the Avia. I used to care what others thought but that was when I was young and dumb and I don't like watch snobs who think the only watch to own is a Rolex. Anyway rant over, thank you for reading. Ps, I've just ordered a Invicta Grand Diver, I have a 7 inch wrist, it's probably going to be way to big for it but I don't care.
First, i got the 39mm quartz by a mistake, but i really loved the way it looked on my wrist. But then i got this one and what a difference. The automatic has a very smooth bezel action, it sits very well on the wrist, and the bracelet is so much better. My only issue with it, is that its very thick and bulky. I enjoyed the look of the 39mm more tbh. But still. A great watch.
What is that, about -8 seconds per day if my math is right? That's not terrible for an affordable mechanical watch. Set it a couple minutes fast at the start of the month and by the end of the month it'll be just a couple minutes slow.
I ended up forwarding it on to a friend that wanted it, after taking it for a test drive for a week or so. But, if I was the type of guy that just wanted an inexpensive EDC watch it's not bad (even at the normal retail price).
Have had this watch for 4 or so years with the Seiko nh35a movement and its been nothing but a great watch for the price. Where else will you find an auto that is hacking and hand winding for under $100?
The quartz ones are the ones people complain about. Those are crap. Invicta doesn't make their own movements, so everything they use is a Seiko, Miyota, ETA, or other nice movement. Who knows? The case to this particular watch could have been made at the same factory that makes Seiko cases. Get rid of all the tacky branding they put all over their watches and the automatic Invictas are a bargain.
I have an NVICTA RESERVE SPECIALTY SUBAQUA JASON TAYLOR COSC LIMITED EDITION WATCH 12958.With an ETA 251.233 COSC Quartz Chronograph w/ 27 Jewels.Had it 4 years never had a problem withn this Quartz movement,a very good watch, losing 1 sec a month. Not all quartz movements are bad.Have a nice day.
Why is it that when Invicta makes a sub Mariner homage it's a "rip off or knock off" but when steinhardtmarc & son phiobos and all these other "quote end quote MICRO BRANDS" make a Rolex homage ...it's an homage???!!!!
@@tremblaycallum783 not that bad if you happy to swap the dial and hands, you'll have a nice watch around $100. the case machining isn't bad either though the logo on the side might irritate some people.
This is my first ever automatic watch, picked up on this year's Prime day, and it was +5 seconds a day right out of the box. I had to look that up to see that it was good. I only heard of Invicta's reputation after I had put the watch in my cart, and I'm glad I got it anyway.
these watches are great for the value so far so good and many upon many of compliments if your wondering what color to get go for the black it's sharper looking than the blue imo
Great review, agree with your comments. Picked one up on Prime day, it’s as accurate as you say and at the low price, brilliant value. Went straight on a 3 ring Zulu strap. I subscribed, good work. I hate snobs.
Love my Invicta Pro Diver watches. Have had 4 of them. Accuracy is better than my Oris, my Tissot and Seiko Skx. Wear this exact one on nato straps. Get compliments every time I wear it.
I've owned this watch for nearly 3 years. It's the best watch I've ever owned. One of my favorite things about the Invicta is it doesn't say to thieves, "Mug this guy!"
I've had this watch for 3 years and have been diving as deep as 85 feet and have been in the hot tub 20 times at least without any problems. A great watch for the money.
I admit I like some of the big watches they make but not the biggest one it actually looks ridiculous but to some it's the best thing ever and who am I to judge?
Brian buchert update.... I bought an invicta bolt, huge watch and it’s pretty cool! I’ve somewhat change my mind on the bigger invicta watches! Jmo but to each his own!!
The hate comes from brand perception and snobbery. Most people don't look at things objectively but rather superficially. So, it's basically a Seiko watch. Apart from the case etc that's what you are buying.
The 8926ob is a super comfortable and reliable watch. I like the fact that it goes out of its way to let you know it's an Invicta. The movement is reliable and keeps time as well as watches that cost $500-$1K. So much bang for your buck it's comical that this watch is so hated. And the updated version with Miyota (not yellow rotor) is prolly even better than this.
When I begin collecting watches. Invicta were the ones I started collecting, I build my collection to About 12 Invicta watches. The one that you have there was one of my favorite. Bang per buck watch. After building my collection I took noticed that a lot of people were wearing invitca. One day I was at a restaurant a few years ago I noticed, that the busboy that was cleaning the table next to us was wearing one. So I go to the bar to get a drink ,then the cook comes out to get a soda he also has an invicta. The watch looked like a hubcap on his wrist. It was a sight to see. Over the years I got rid of all but one. The one that you have there, still is my favorite. I have reduce my collection down to 8 watches 2 oris 2 alpina 1 tissot and I orient ray diver sekio 5 diver and the invicta diver you have there. It seem like every weekend invicta comes out with new watches. Over the years invicta has had problems in there quality control department.
I got one after your's and others reviews. So far, I find it great. I don't care about braclet. Wish you could save $ & order watches w/o straps. But hand winding, hacking, wr -200m & auto. For only $97 canadian! Awesome!
Great review. I picked up this watch for the same low price on the last Amazon Prime Day. Admittedly, had it not been such a low price, I may not have given this watch a chance because of all the bad press given Invicta watches by many in the watch community. I'm so glad I did because this is now my favorite everyday tool watch. I thoroughly agree that its Seiko NH35A is a reliable and accurate movement. Plus it can be handwound which is a real advantage over my Seiko SKX. Thanks for sharing such an insightful review.
I have a Pro Diver, but I have the one with the scalloped bezel. My experience has been that it's dead accurate and stands up to water well. I've taken it into the shower with me with no problems. (I can't vouch for how well it would stand up to actual diving, though.) I think that for a movement that hacks and hand-winds, along with the solid links (except for the end links) you can't really go wrong as long as you're paying $75 or less. And Amazon has them on sale on Black Fridays usually for around $50. The only negative I can say is that I _have_ heard of people complaining about quality control. Either water got into the watch (in situations where it shouldn't have) or the applied logo came off, etc. o I think what you sacrifice with a price like that (aside from the difference in the materials) is impeccable quality control. You're kind of rolling the dice when you buy a Pro Diver, so hold on to your receipt for a while, or keep the warranty card handy.
Have the Pro Diver 8926 since 2006, over 10 years and only has surface scratches on the bracelet. I don't dive, but I shower, wash dishes, work out (sweat is the original watch killer), etc. and it remains airtight. Being the older version it has the Miyota (Citizen) 8215, and I also lucked out, maybe lose a minute a month, very consistent. I agree that all of the large, gaudy, quartz Invicta's are truly an eyesore, but these Submariner ripoffs are fantastic, and if you damage or ruin it, you just shrug and get another one, though I haven't had to now going on twelve years. Your review is spot-on, if you like the Seiko's, and the build quality of these models is better-than-average for the $$, then there's not much you can say against them except for aesthetics, and that's always a personal choice. Those who knock it for being a Submariner clone, how many Rolex clones are on your dresser? Let's be honest... Yeah, we all have at least one, 'cause if you can't buy the real deal, what else are you going to do? Keep 'em comin' JustBlueFish! Cheers, MF
I received the Invicta like this for my birthday. It's a nice time piece for the money my friend spent on it. I didn't like the bulky ones though. It look stylish to me a go along with the suits I wear.
I have had the Invicta Pro Diver Yellow Gold 8930OB for about 10 years now, other than an occasional scuff here and there, it still looks great. Recently went on a cruise brought it with me snorkeling about 20 feet down...No problems. I don't care for the "INVICTA" on the left side as well. Ive had a number of people compliment the watch thinking it was a Rolex, I proudly said it was a Homage made by Invicta, then I had to explain the difference between a homage and a fake or replica.. BTW good review!
Im new to the watch "collecting" scene and I have recently bought myself the blue diver pro - the face has a unique tint of purple to it which looks fantastic in the right light and the bezel lines up perfectly with the 12 as well as the cyclops is centered with the date. No reason to see hate here.
Great review...I've begun to watch several of them and I'm very impressed as I've just started to get a little more serious about owning better watches and collecting. I own a handful of various Invicta model watches and can understand some of the general sentiment of dislike towards the brand for many reasons. I do agree with your critique of this particular Invicta model as I have just recently picked it up about a month ago on Amazon for $85.00. I've viewed it at many different price points over time, some much cheaper as you have mentioned and a bit more expensive at what I just purchased this at. I decided to spring for it now, knowing that I could wait and probably find it at a sale price down the road later...but needed to replace an Invicta watch which I dropped and broke. In deciding for what kind of replacement watch I was going to get, I said I was never going to buy another Invicta. The reason I came to that decision was due to the terrible overall durability, mostly because of what I feel is a lack of quality control and inferior materials. On several of the other Invicta models the indices literally fell off the dial from normal day to day wear. The last model ( a very inexpensive ( www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049IUIVA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) that I dropped on a tile floor which completely shattered the cristal and knocked all the indices loose from the dial face was kind of the last straw for me.....Though this was a very (cheap if you will) watch, I quite liked it because it kept time well over the 4+ years I owned it. The watch still works but it would be foolish to try and have it repaired, the cost would be more that looking for a new replacement. I've always had this notion with my experience in Invicta watches...that you either get a Wednesday watch (middle of the work week where people are paying a bit more attention to their jobs)....or a Friday watch (end of the work week where people are slacking off a bit looking to leave for the weekend) I can attest to having received both types of quality control watches from Invicta. So in my search for a new watch to wear daily, I have been looking at some of the Seiko models in the $2-350 dollar price range and had my sights set on several of the dive models, new and used. I felt it was time to step up and out of these cheap, cheaper type watches into something that would give me much more long lasting quality and performance and durability. But, due to a few other recent monetary household expenses I decided not to pull the trigger now and would look again a little farther down the road. So, I went back to Invicta, which I said I never would do so again and decided to give this model one last try. As I mentioned before, I've had this Invicta model, from your above review, for a little over a month now and it marks all the comments you made in your review to a tee. Overall I'm pleased with the Invicta Pro Diver 8926oB. I wear it as a daily work watch ( I work as an Aviation aircraft material specialist ) processing civil aircraft parts for many airline companies that do business with us....So I'm mainly on a computer terminal work station where not much damage can come to the watch I wear. So far it has keep perfect time and can be removed for at least a 24 hr time period without worry of stopping. I would never wear this watch anywhere near water, even under a hand sink for fear of damage. The Lume as you mentioned is terrible, as on all other Invicta watches...but I suppose that is to be expected for this price point. One other big complaint I have about Invicta is their warranty ( or I should say lack of) It's totally useless and would cost one more money if they ever have to use it than to replace some of their watches with a new one again. As for the overall construction and grade of materials used, again it seems ok, but time will tell. Even if this watch holds up over time, I will never go with another Invicta watch again. I've just wasted money for a product that in the long run doesn't hold up well.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the message. The 8926ob was my first and only Invicta. I bought it just to check it out, since the sale price was so good and there are so many conflicting opinions on it. If it lasts at least a year and holds up to typical daily wear I'd say it's well worth the money. Initial impressions are it's a pretty nice watch but if it will be as durable as some of the slightly more expensive Seiko models is the big question.
Ive never understood why everyone hates on them so bad. I have one and I enjoy mine and wear it about once a week. Mine also runs really good, my bezel action is great! Maybe I also got lucky. I also got mine for like 50 bucks, I have done some shallow diving with it for several hours with no problems.
I like the Rolex Submariner design because it's very clear and easy to read. I don't think there's a face design that's easier to read at a glance, which is probably the reason it's so widely copied. In buying an Invicta 8926C, I found a fairly well made example of the design at a very reasonable price, and that's all I was looking for. It's just a watch.
I'm not sure, that's what the listing called it when I bought it. The MPN is 8926OB. I do notice that it says JAPAN MOVT at the bottom of the face whereas the one you show is blank there.
I'm not sure, but Invicta does offer a Swiss movement version of the Pro Diver now, and I think they were all Japanese before. That might be why the Japanese version is now marked as such.
The indices are actually an homage to the older submariners so called nipple dials. My two tone 16803 sub originally came with one but was changed somewhere along the line.
Hello Guy, I have just bought this watch (not for $49!!) And I love it! I have been selling watches, from Timex to Patek and I am convinced that this watch is 'hated' because of watch snobbery! I have a nice collection of watches some good, some 'bad' but I like them all and that was the reason they were purchased! My only gripe? The Invicta logo engraved on the side! For me it's SO unnecessary! But overall a great little watch even at €90. Good site, best regards, Jim.
Have the prodiver for couple of years. Watch does what it’s suppose to do. Wore it swimming in rivers, salt water, pools no problems ever. Really reliable, no gimmicks. Quality is great and looks great. All for less than 100 bucks.
I have this watch in a special edition with a carbon fiber face.. It has a Seiko NH35A movement, which you can hack and I got an unbelievable deal of like $60..! The watch is outstanding..! I highly recommend it and it's very accurate...
I took a scotch brite pad to mine and knocked off all the chrome on the case and band. It has a brushed look now and I really like it. Once the chrome is dulled the "Invicta" logo on the side of the case blends in and is far less noticeable.
Tight bezels are an Invicta thing. Wear your watch in the shower once or twice and then turn the bezel with a towel or face washer and it fixes the issue. Good review, great watch.
My 8926 is 10 years old. I wear it to work, to the beach, in the yard and it still looks great, still keeps good time and still waterproof....
The modern Submariner bezel is outstanding. The best I’ve used, and I’ve used most of them.
I want town an expensive watch one day just to be chill like this guy.
I dived in Thailand with a Seamaster and the bezel was well slippery, really becomes annoying, three times a day, every day.....
@@TXbeats62 alot of guys who own that watch who are far from chill haha
I've never understood the hate for invicta.. really nice watches for the price!
Thanks for watching, and I agree, it's a good value.
GUD
Good video
Thanks Rick, glad you liked the review.
+David Topchiev The people who you are hanging around bought fake replicas.
@David Topchiev i am a luxery watch sales man. The invicta is good for th money, but i think a cosc or META certified watches are a little bid better than a 150 dollar watch. 2nd of all the overall finishing is waaaaaaaaay better
@David Topchiev i am also talking about overal fit and finish.
+David Topchiev holy shit David I posted that comment a year ago. What's up
I had this watch in the two-tone blue dial version. It was one of the most accurate watches I owned, running about +2 seconds per day. My best friend commented on how much he liked the watch, so I gave it to him. He wears it happily as his "good watch" for two years now. A good value for the money.
+2 is pretty outstanding. I wish all my watches were that good.
Yeah, I only tested it for a couple of weeks before I gave it away. But my daily beater is a Steinhart that is built much better but is not as accurate as that Invicta was. I guess it should be built better, it cost five times as much.
You sir are a good friend!
Well said, and I do love the Corvette.
Maybe because it was made in cheapo China?
I've seen you around the watch sites offen mainly on Oleg and Bonds channel
TheGoodwolfe I agree some invictas are very big and some say gaudy! I like a watch that makes a statement heck even Rolex makes gaudy watches
Nothing gets my purchasing juices flowing more than hearing, “It doesn’t Suck.”😉
It's a heck of an endorsement right?
Nice review! I think the hate towards Invicta comes from the huge gaudy bling watches they make and that hate has just spread to the entire line.
David Topchiev you prefer invicta over grand seiko ?? losing your mind i suppose..................what a fucking stupid ass..........
Ain't nothing wrong with the big gawdy watches , some people love that shit,no it's not for everybody but they do have some pretty intriguing and detailed designs , and yes some are ugly. Simple fix, just don't don't buy stuff you don't like , if you like something why should the brand matter
I get the impression he is lying,if you are happy with Invicta why would you bother buying a Rolex or Grand Seiko?
Nice watch. I could wear this everywhere, and with all types of clothes. And "no batteries required"! Very classy, classic look.
I will order this from Amazon.
I just order the watch in Amazon!!Now I'm again watching your Review!!
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching.
Got 3 , and love them , give hard use to one , it goes in water , goes to work rough and tumble , one is unbelievable accurate, cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
I've had mine for about 6 years and it's losing time... a bit more than "seconds per day" - but it's been great so I"m getting another one! Great review, thanks!
Nice review thank you, simple honest and to the point.
I like this watch! Like the engraved invicta and find the second hand logo mesmerizing. I bought one today on Ebay.
Thanks for watching.
Nice to see this comment from a Rolex owner. The Pro Diver watches are great for the price.
Every reviewer says they "got lucky" with the movement. You didn't. It is THAT GOOD. Mine lost 2-3 seconds too!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine too, even after 5 years it loses 2-4 seconds a day. Constantly wet too, and has had no service.
That might be right. Thanks for watching Daniel.
Going to have this one and The Blue one, made an order and now happily waitin them to come. Thanks for the review, I already feel peaceful and comfortable, even when i still haven't got them yet ;)
Congrats I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks for watching blkcpdconure, and thank you for your service.
I bought one way back when they first came out with the Miyota movement. I can honestly say I have beat the crap out of the watch, I wore it to work, the beach, doing work around the yard....etc and I can say yeah, its a good watch. Let the haters hate......you get a lot for your money.
Thanks for watching.
I bought one each for me and my son, they are very nice, truly quality made, they keep perfect time. Its great value for the money...
Thanks for watching Dennis, I hope you guys enjoy those 8926ob watches.
Oh you mean Tudor style snowflake hands I assume?
JustBlueFish lol. Yeah that's what meant. The dial too. From one shameless homage to another.
I like the Mercedes hands better than snowflake but both are cool.
HadoKing You can get this in a swiss model that is a 43mm. I have a couple they have the SW200 mvmt.
Love the invicta diver automatic watch, it's keeping almost perfect time even after months of daily use
I was impressed with this watch. It’s hard to beat for the price.
Gorgeous Watch, the mechanisms probably last 30yrs or more. I have a Invicta it still tells time flawlessly after over 6 years of watch ticking lol.
Thanks for watching.
thank god for making the decision to use the Seiko machine inside
Thanks for watching Michael I appreciate it.
Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Invicta it sounds like you got a nice accurate watch.
A watch that gains only one second every three days, looks great, and costs a measly $55. What's not to like? (And I just saved $9945, too.)
drglebov why not buy any of the Seiko sarbs?? ORIENT bamino?? Tissot visdodate? Seiko padi divers?? I mean IF you had the money for a $8k submariner I don't see how watchs that cost from $130- $450, would be an issue................
$55 is a Great price for this watch. Could I ask where you got it as I'm in the market for one. Thanks
Keep it up and smile a little will ya! lol!
Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
As always, Guy, excellent review & yes indeed, you got an awesome deal on the price & it is a decent looking Watch! 😉
Thanks Erik I appreciate it.
I'm not a big fan of Invicta, but I think your review very outstanding.
Great video!
Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
My father bought the same watch for me in June.I Love it so far.4 min a month lost.but its rugged enough for my lifestyle.nice vid.
What is that, about -8 seconds per day if my math is right? That's not terrible for an affordable mechanical watch. Set it a couple minutes fast at the start of the month and by the end of the month it'll be just a couple minutes slow.
JustBlueFish That's what I do😎
I just ordered the 9094OB the other day, which is the exact same watch but with a blue dial and bezel. Can't wait to get it!
Nice, enjoy it. Thanks for watching.
I actually like the counterbalance on the second hand
I went to look at these the other day and they were being sold, buy one-get one. I bought one in black and one in blue. No complaints.
Bought my second Pro Diver last month...:)
Nice, can't beat the value on them. Enjoy.
Congratulations they are Beautiful

Nice review. Seiko 4R36 for $50? Deal of the century, despite the giant logo.
I ended up forwarding it on to a friend that wanted it, after taking it for a test drive for a week or so. But, if I was the type of guy that just wanted an inexpensive EDC watch it's not bad (even at the normal retail price).
Great review! But it has a Seiko NH35A 24 Jewel movement. For a watch under $100 it is a great watch keeps good time.
Have had this watch for 4 or so years with the Seiko nh35a movement and its been nothing but a great watch for the price. Where else will you find an auto that is hacking and hand winding for under $100?
Wow 4 years and still going strong? That's awesome. So much for everyone that says the Invicta's don't last. That's great thanks for sharing.
Same to me. Already 4 1/2 year with my Invicta 8926ob and still working great!
+JustBlueFish Watch Reviews Funny how the thing that lasts in them wasn't even made by the company
I love the counterbalance!
I understand why you might not like the invicta engraving on the side but I like big gaudy statement watches so I love it!
All that matters is that you love it.
Why is it that when Invicta makes a sub Mariner homage it's a "rip off or knock off" but when steinhardtmarc & son phiobos and all these other "quote end quote MICRO BRANDS" make a Rolex homage ...it's an homage???!!!!
haha, good question I'm not sure why.
It's obviously in the quality.
Quality!
So you own the Invicta and find the quality inferior?
@@tremblaycallum783 not that bad if you happy to swap the dial and hands, you'll have a nice watch around $100. the case machining isn't bad either though the logo on the side might irritate some people.
This is my first ever automatic watch, picked up on this year's Prime day, and it was +5 seconds a day right out of the box. I had to look that up to see that it was good. I only heard of Invicta's reputation after I had put the watch in my cart, and I'm glad I got it anyway.
I have 4 Invicta watches, 2 quartz, 2 automatics and they are all excellent. Great bang for the buck.
I haven't tried their quartz diver but this auto version is a good value.
these watches are great for the value so far so good and many upon many of compliments if your wondering what color to get go for the black it's sharper looking than the blue imo
Thank you. I have been debating between the two for awhile now.
Great review, agree with your comments. Picked one up on Prime day, it’s as accurate as you say and at the low price, brilliant value. Went straight on a 3 ring Zulu strap. I subscribed, good work. I hate snobs.
I got mine last year on Prime day. For $50 or less you almost can't beat it.
I've had 2 of these watches and they are both super accurate. One was dead on time and the other ran like 2 seconds fast a day.
Love my Invicta Pro Diver watches. Have had 4 of them. Accuracy is better than my Oris, my Tissot and Seiko Skx. Wear this exact one on nato straps. Get compliments every time I wear it.
Thanks for watching Daymond, I appreciate it.
Thanks for watching.
I love this watch it's all the other watches that invicta makes I hate.
I'm really not all that familiar with any of the other Invicta watches. But, the 8920ob isn't bad at all.
I like this one and the speedway the rest I don’t care for the huge case size ones especially
Star Trek Theory that’s all subjective
The hate comes from brand perception and snobbery. Most people don't look at things objectively but rather superficially.
So, it's basically a Seiko watch. Apart from the case etc that's what you are buying.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
The "cross" is the Swiss flag. Invicta was once a Swiss watch company.
Thanks for watching Matt. Definitely a decent watch with a lot of value.
It is so much bang for your buck is a great statement and also kinda why it's hated, IMO
Actually the Miyota movement in the older ones without yellow rotor are inferior, as they do not hack.
Great review! I agree, for the price you paid this is AMAZING!
Thanks for watching I appreciate it.
Thanks for watching and the comments. Interesting story, and glad to hear that the 8926ob was the model Invicta you ended up keeping all along.
I will get one someday. Beautiful watch. I am a Seiko fan and user, but this tempt me. Great video and wish you luck.
Thanks for watching!
I got one after your's and others reviews. So far, I find it great. I don't care about braclet. Wish you could save $ & order watches w/o straps. But hand winding, hacking, wr -200m & auto. For only $97 canadian! Awesome!
Thanks for watching and enjoy the watch.
Thanks for watching Victor. Enjoy the 8926 it's pretty sweet.
I have a Pro Diver, but I have the one with the scalloped bezel.
My experience has been that it's dead accurate and stands up to water well. I've taken it into the shower with me with no problems. (I can't vouch for how well it would stand up to actual diving, though.)
I think that for a movement that hacks and hand-winds, along with the solid links (except for the end links) you can't really go wrong as long as you're paying $75 or less.
Cheers,
MF
Thanks for watching and for the feedback. Nice to hear about people having so many years of experience with these watches. 10 years is amazing.
I received the Invicta like this for my birthday. It's a nice time piece for the money my friend spent on it. I didn't like the bulky ones though. It look stylish to me a go along with the suits I wear.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching Thomas. Good to hear that it held up to some water, I never tested the WR on this one.
Just had this watch as a present for Xmas... brilliant watch.. absolutely love it 👍👍...
I have both the Mickey and the Snoopy version and they are fantastic, great video keep up the good work 😉
Thanks appreciate it.
Mine was +2 out of the box, and it got better, it's now about a second fast.
What's the difference between the 8926ob and the C version?
I'm not sure, that's what the listing called it when I bought it. The MPN is 8926OB. I do notice that it says JAPAN MOVT at the bottom of the face whereas the one you show is blank there.
Interesting observation, I wonder when they changed the notation on the dial about Japan Movt.
I'm not sure, but Invicta does offer a Swiss movement version of the Pro Diver now, and I think they were all Japanese before. That might be why the Japanese version is now marked as such.
I got mine on prime day this year for 35 dollars and I'm very impressed. I like it
The indices are actually an homage to the older submariners so called nipple dials. My two tone 16803 sub originally came with one but was changed somewhere along the line.
Yeah I wasn't aware of that style dial back when I made this video but I've since seen the resemblance.
I've had these watches for 15 years... Great features for the money
Wow 15 years? That’s great.
Good job reviewing this watch, I do not own any invictas but this is nice for that price point...
I have this watch with the blue dial, and absolutely love it.I took off the cyclops eye, though, and it look so much better.
Nice, how'd you remove the magnifier without damaging the crystal?
Hello Guy,
I have just bought this watch (not for $49!!) And I love it!
Thanks for watching.
I took a scotch brite pad to mine and knocked off all the chrome on the case and band. It has a brushed look now and I really like it. Once the chrome is dulled the "Invicta" logo on the side of the case blends in and is far less noticeable.
Just bought this on amazon for $35 off because of cyber Monday. Excited
Awesome deal!
Tight bezels are an Invicta thing. Wear your watch in the shower once or twice and then turn the bezel with a towel or face washer and it fixes the issue. Good review, great watch.
Thanks for watching Matt. Good tip as well.
