The ground was too hard for the metal ground grabbers we had. The area is mostly sandstone and granite so you're trying to stake in to rock bed. We did get a new awning room instead of replacing the light strip. The lighting is strong. The white light is exceptional. The orange light setting seems less bright mostly due to color temp.
@@wanderlustoverland Nice, I got the room a few days ago but I haven't used it yet. As for the awning, it has been with me for a year. and the lighting is really strong, but I was wondering how strong it is inside the room. Will I need other lights or is the Awning lighting sufficient?
@@oldstory-sz4qc We have an aux light on the side of the trailer which is crazy bright, so I don't really use the light on the awning any more, but from what I remember it was plenty for ambient. If you're cooking inside or digging in to bags at night you may want a headlamp.
ARB says it’ll do 100 mile an hour winds. I wouldn’t trust that however we have seen 60+ miles an hour and it’s been fine. It flaps a little bit against the trailer. Other than that not a big deal.
no you can not. This is attached to our trailer so the trailer can stay back but if it was attached to the vehicle you would need to break it down and stow it before driving away.
Your new LED light won’t work either. I had a total of three and found out the plug is wired incorrectly. Your existing one works just try different configuration of the plug from led light to controller.
Nice 4Runner!!!!
Nice review. I have the same one but before they did the light strip (which seems unnecessary, I use small nightize rechargable lanterns).
Thanks for your comments :)
0:38 Why did you use sandbags instead
of stakes?
4:17 Have you replaced the lighting and tested it with the room? How strong was the lighting?

Very Nice Thank you
you helped me a lot
And I appreciate that.
Just bought one. Would love to know what tie downs you are using and where you got those bags that hold your tie downs rather than stakes. Thank you.
Thanks for checking out the video. The tie downs are "Quick tie-downs" and the stakes and stake bag are from Ground Grabba
Is there a way to secure the opening around the trailer side? Looks like it is open and would allow wind/rain to enter. Thanks for sharing.
yes. That side does zip shut for inclement weather and it is possible to do that while inside the trailer.
I know this awning room is meant for the same brand awning, but do you think it would work with a cheaper awning as long as they are the right size?
is the material water proof?
it's treated. the water beads but if you let it sit it will soak through
Thanks@@wanderlustoverland
Cool awning. Is it possible to unzip the floor?
yes. we leave it attached because it's easier to store that way

Nice! How is it in heavy winds?

Is it safe to sleep in there?
100% I know of a few folks that only have this awning and awning room and they put cots in there and use it like a tent.
Can you drive away from it

The original LED strip worked for nearly a year. We installed the replacement and it worked fine our whole trip.
