And people wonder why Rudeus always tries to go for the safe route. He's powerful enough that he is deemed as a threat almost to anyone of stature he meets. It comes off as cowardice in some cases, but honestly I think he just wants the least amount of altercations if possible. To note, he only really stands on business if it involves his family, which is permissible.
You can even say when he was born Lillia thought he was possessed by a demon

I think in the novels, we get POVs of Ariel where she revealed she didn’t like Rudeus either. She researched Rudeus’ background as famous adventurer Quagmire, including how he has Saint-level magic and beat a red dragon more-or-less singlehandedly, but her and Luke suspected Rudeus because of how he had no bad rumours about him and how he didn’t go around picking fights and bullying people like other strong people at the academy. Apparently, him appearing to be too perfect made them suspect that he had some secret agenda and that his feats were made up, as well as his overly polite behaviour rubbing them the wrong way as overly polite nobles are ones with a hidden agenda who just act overly polite to suck up. Also, Ariel flat out says in her internal monologue that she didn’t find Rudeus attractive in comparison to Luke despite Luke’s sleeping around.
He's Japanese and they are known to be more polite than most people. When he first met Roxy he thought she was a greedy for having side hustles using her magic to help the farmers. Rudy very naive and ignorant about the world
Ariel self project she is among the top cream of the crap Asuran manipulative and perverted nobles (Anime Ariel Portray is paid propaganda to cleanup her image😂😂)
When Rudy met Sylphy it's briefly shown but Sylphy was also scared of Rudy. Rudy saved her from the bullies and then he was trying to clean up Sylphy but she was trying to run away from him that time

Nothing matters in Subaru's case his power take away all stakes in the series everything will be re zeroed anyways and Subaru will be traumatized, then overcome it, then become overconfident, then die again to develop more the cycle continues

@@aliestor3273 I know that. It's a comparison as to who suffers more. Subaru can rectify his mistakes unlike Rudeus, true but Rudeus doesn't go through the same pain again and again unlike Subaru. Rudy has people who can understand his pain and comfort him. Subaru on the other hand has never been able to share his pain to anyone apart from the witches of the sins. Even if everything resets, he still has faced the scenario that makes him broken along with the pain he felt. Rudy is at least able to move on and continue his life instead of re-living the exact situation multiple times and trying to get out of that scenario. So you can get who has it easy and who has it rough. I do like both of the characters but Subaru has suffered more than Rudy ever could

Yeah Subaru went through things that no normal man should be able to recover from but keeps doing the same mistakes his character development always comes to a circle until something unique or new pushes him to a permanent change, the risk of death doesn't even bother him that much, in one of the ifs he killed himself to tell somebody the weather

supposed to be stillborn. Which is why even hitogami didn't know him before the teleport incident. Thats also why rudeus isnt affected by orsted curses that makes everyone fear him since Rudeus soul isnt From this world

Orsted has lived through many timeloops in the same world. His mission is to defeat hitogami and he will continue looping untill he defeats hitogami. Its like Re Zero but he does not get a save point and the story is centuries long. Orstead has met many characters in some or the other way in different time loops.
And yes Rudeus is an anomaly. Paul's son was stillborn. Which means he did not have any soul. Because of strong laplace factor which gave the child huge amount of mana, the child died before birth. But in this timeloop something happened and a rift opened into this world at the same time when Rudeus died in his original world. His sould was drifting but accidentaly got into this world and ended up residing in the body of paul's child which did not have any soul. That is how rudeus was born. The main anomaly is not rudeus itself but the event that led to Rudeus being born in this timeloop, which is another spoiler about why the reincarnation and the whole teleportation happened.

@@Omniscential Yeah, Therese Latreia, Zenith’s sister. She was in the Eris Goblin Slayer OVA as a bodyguard of the Miko who got attacked by assassins. In the novel, there’s a chapter after that where Therese does meet Rudeus (who initially mistook her for Zenith because they look so alike) and just dotes and cuddles him. For some reason, both the anime and manga just skip that chapter. They do meet years later in a future arc (which she is a big part of) but it would have made more sense to have the two of them meet and form a rapport before that.
