I usually finish my garments with a serge or some type of seam finish. I believe laundering was not as prevalent as we do today so pinked seams would not hold up to our washing of garments that the piece would endure.
I like using a Hong Kong scene finish or flat failed seam finish with top stitching. Your garments are beautiful and I like the pinking method you used. Fantastic work!
Hi Ms. Henderson. I am looking forward to trying those finishes. Perhaps you can give me some pointers if you have any. 😊. Thanks a bunch for watching. Take care!

Thanks for sharing your lovely makes
My pleasure! 😊. Thanks for tuning in.
Thank you for this video. I have this pattern and have been debating on making it. I enjoyed your review and will be making it soon. Thanks again.
My pleasure! Let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a GREAT one!
The print and gingham look great together. You have a great eye for color blocking.
Thank you. I enjoy doing it actually and am sometimes challenged to see if I can pull it off.
I have started serging some of my seams with multiple color serger threads that blend with the garment… I’m getting Sassy as I get older… lol!
I hear you! And rightly so! Be SASSY! 👏🏾I like the idea of multiple colored serger thread…do you have a video on that? 😀
I'm new to garments, but I like to pink my seams. I like the look plus I don't have a serger. I really like view C of this pattern.
All your dresses are beautiful. I don’t always finish my seams with bias either. I guess it depends on the amount of time I have.
Yes. Beautiful finish with the seam binding but time consuming. Thank you!
I used to finish seams with French Seams… on some dresses/skirts. I serge almost everything now.
Which serger do you have? Do you love it?
I think pinking the seams is ok. Many vintage garments were pinked.
I think so too! I love inspecting vintage garments. Some well made clothing right there. Thank you!
Is that possible to raise the neck line since I am a 5 feet petite girl? Thank you
Hi there. Yes I think it would be possible and easy in fact. My suggestion would be to extend the stitching upward to close it up more.
I don’t have a serger and I don’t want one. I don’t even have a zig zag stitch. I do pinked seams or French seams.
Hahahaha! I HEAR you! 😎. Thanks for watching!
I only pink seams when they will be hidden…do what works for you….
😎...I always do. Thanks for watching!
