This must be fate because i am building a new computer and settled on this motherboard. I am still awaiting the parts to be delivered. Will take note of the information in this video. Thanks for sharing!
do i need to update my bios first or drivers and do i download all the drivers from the msi website for the z790 ace max mobo at the same time or one at a time?
The order of updating bios vs drivers does not matter. For a new build, I update the bios if needed, then install windows and then install the drivers. The default window drivers can also work so the driver updates from msi are optional. You can download the drivers from the msi website one at a time and install as needed.
No worries. You do not need windows to update your BIOS. In fact, I would recommend updating the BIOS before installing windows. To do this, first download the BIOS and install it on a USB drive using a different computer (not your new build) as described in the video. Second, turn on your newly built PC and enter the BIOS (note: windows is not needed to enter the BIOS). Third, check that the CPU temperatures are reasonable and are not rising over time. Fourth, check that all the RAM sticks you installed are showing up. Fifth, make sure all your storage devices are showing up. Sixth, if everything looks good, install the BIOS as described in the video. When the BIOS installation starts, it is very important not to turn off the PC even if you get a black screen. Be patient and wait until the BIOS screen shows up again. If the BIOS version hasn’t changed keep waiting as it may need to restart several times to install the BIOS. Once you see the new BIOS version show up, you are done. I hope this helps.
@JoeAlisando thank you, appreciate the info and steps, much appreciated. Need all the info we can get. I'm building 2 pc. Mines is gonna be msi Meg ace max with all meg parts well mostly other than the i9 14900k cpu, trident z5 rgb 8400mhz 48gb ram, and 4090 suprim liquid cooled x. My son's is the ace with random stuff he picked out lol trying Look for the 4tb msi spatium m570 pro pcie5.0 never m.2 frozen but it's nowwhere to be found. It's getting built slowly but surely. Just the pieces is the hard part to get.
Thank you for the question. You do not need another cpu to use the board. I would recommend buying the 14900k directly, assembling your PC, using a different PC to download the latest BIOS update, updating your BIOS to the latest version and then installing windows. That is what I did the first time around before doing any subsequent bios updates. I hope this helps.
I would recommend to only use the BIOS for your motherboard. Z790 Ace and Z790 Ace Max are two different motherboards, so I would not mix the bios between the two.
Thank you for the question. If you update via M-Flash in the BIOS (the normal way), you don't have to rename anything. Just extract the BIOS ZIP file to USB (NTFS or FAT32 formatted). Renaming to MSI.ROM is only necessary if you want to update via the Flash BIOS Button, and this is done when normal updating via M-Flash would not work.
Great video thank you very much 😊
Thank you for the kind words. Glad you liked it.
Absolutely a great walk though on How To... Excellent job!
Thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing. Easy explanation and it worked. Thank you
Glad it helped!

I wanted to ask, will the this motherboard boot up a 14900k out of the box without a bios update or will I need to get another cpu for that
To boot up and get the bios update installed for the mb to accept the 14900k

@@JoeAlisando THANK YOUU! You're goated
can you flash the ace max bios to the ace non max mobo?

I thought the name had to be changed to msi.rom
