I love they moved those power connectors to the other side. I always have trouble getting those two plugged in when in the upper left corner. However, one minor gripe I have is why do they always stick RGB in a spot that will be covered up by the graphics card? A 4090 will cover that neat RGB on the right of the slots.
Nice looking board. Agree totally with your SSD comment. Bought four of the Crucial P3 Plus 4TB Nvme drives for my two boys during the Amazon Prime sale. Both my boys will now have 8-10TB NVME storage on their systems. Eatx is not necessary, gives manufacturers another “reason” to charge so much for the latest boards.
I recommend you build a NAS for storage, put it in the same network, and you won't need so many SSD's in your PC's. Not to mention anyone in the network will have access to it at any time. And if you use enterprise HDD's in it, it can run continuously for at least 5-10 years if no problems arrise. Not to mention the safety of your stored data, if you use a RAID type like 10, 5 or Synology's SHR (if your NAS would be Synology ofc).
When are these companies going to add a PCIE clip release button? Asus and Gigabyte has done it but it’s such a specific quality of life feature that needs to be around more. These GPUs are massive and it’s way more easy to break the clips/hooks.
Boards a beast, probably going to cost $800-$1100 US. Would have liked to see 2 more usb slots on the board in the back. Is it going to slow down any of the pcie lanes populating all 5 of the nvme? Music is bad ass dude, very balanced mixes and the low end is yummy.
At 03:14 - max 2 years down the road we'll have the first mobo with 2x 24 pin ATX power headers: the existing one, and another formed by the existing 2x8pin EPS headers + one of those extras but with 8 pins for even more power...
impressed that the new mobo has 5 nvme slots, well already from the start we got 4 with the z690 msi pro a, so 1 less in a more budget friendly board that also supports all the lga1700 cpus.
My M.2 heatsink RGB doesn't work unless I push it in, like there's no contact in the magsafe-like connector. Something I need to look at, but the M.2_1 heatsink can be removed with the GPU in (for those with watercooling wondering..)
Only miss is having one 10 Gig LAN instead of 2 2.5 Gigs. Rest the board seems top notch which is something that I can't afford in this lifetime at least 😄
I dont understand how these top tier type boards have so few usb type A ports. I also feel the "eatx" thing is unnecessary but bigger is better I guess? Looks nice for sure.
I've been looking for the answer to this question for ages... how is the motherboard lighting powered on while the board is on display, with no traditional power cables connected?
Not much difference with the original Ace that i have except for the Wi-Fi chip and LAN port. Didnt make sense to have 2×2,5G ports... Same VRM/mosfet, maybe better RAM compatibility? I haven't looked at the comparison. Looks like they went back to the I/O shield design they had on the z590. Unless i didnt see well. On the original, the i/o shield is quite flimsy. Its a great board anyways. Replaced my z790 Hero that i gave to a friend with it and quite satisfied.👍
The board has 2 Mini DP ports and comes with 2 Mini DP to DP cables. One of the USB Type C ports can also act as a DP port with the correct cable. I believe that takes place of a dedicated HDMI or DP port
Sata is better than more m.2 slots for multiple reasons. The main being 99% of content does not take advantage of m.2. If I download a ton of games, I don't fill up a poor m.2. Thats only for new games and windows.
In my opinion the MSI X670X ACE is better when it's paired up with the 7950X3D as it opens a world of overclocking features that people are unaware of. I really don't think the next Gen of intel will dethrone either the 7800X3D or the 7950X3D when paired with the X670X Ace. But will see!!!
if this board is around 3-500 hundred then its worth it but there are not enough features to justify asking more money for it. it has almost the same layout as my z270 taichi! that board was 239 bucks, the difference? 1 NVME slotGen5 vs Gen 3. 1 USB 3.0a header and 2 Usb 3.1 headers. PCIex16 gen 5 (16x8x4) instead of gen 4 PCIex16 (16x8x4 LOL) , and some Gamer light and fan headers. this board looks lovely but if it isnt priced realistically it will rot on the shelf with all the other overpriced undervalue PC parts as of late.
Odd, no HDMI on the board? Love the layout. Especially those EPS power connectors. Having them in the upper left corner is a pain in the hands, but what is a bit of bleeding if your wallet is already bled dry. I am so happy we are not having to purchase another motherboard for the next gen processors. I think the max M.2 slots is reached by 4 without going to have to add another controller chip and/or looking for ways to get rid of all the heat. Remember, the GPU will be looming over those slots and will be getting hot as well. I think that is going to have to be an important topic on how to cool the NVMe PCI 5x4 drives. Thanks, Nick, to give us a peek of this board, I betcha there will be a whole slew of new boards coming. Oh, wait... I was gonna say that the buttons for on/off and resetting the bios look huge.
yes, if you are in need of upgrade from very old pc. If they can make RAM XMP more stable for DDR5, the better. For content creators, you'll probably want to stick to intel, but it depends on what you do.
@@alrizo1115 why on earth would content creators stick to Intel? From the benchmarks, it's kinda ridiculous and obviously favored to one side arbitrarily..but beyond that, maybe I'm just speaking for myself here, even if I were to build an Intel system, I'd do it at the outset of that support lifecycle (2 years is a joke but at least they're doing three this time around). I built a custom loop AM4 system back when Ryzen 1000 came out with an 1800x. I upgraded to the 2700x and then the 5900x. Later on, I got a great deal and upgraded to the 5950x and x570s. Now I have that system and an AM5 with a 7950x3d that I will in all likelihood be able to upgrade to a 16 core single CCD CPU next gen AND a 32 core dual CCD CPU afterwards. How on earth is that advisable NOT to do?
Good to hear we can keep ujsing the Z690 MB for 14th Gen
That’s a W for sure. Shoot I might upgrade my 13th gen to 14th just for shits and giggles ..
@@3_kids_one_shot726I'm also considering burning cash on a side-grade 13600k to 14700k upgrade or even 14900k if they aren't insanely priced
@@3_kids_one_shot726 that's cringe bro
Board looks like a banger. Keep up the hard work fams
nice looking board love the m.2 slots you can never have enough storage, great job guys
LOOOOOVE the aesthetic of the MEG boards, the egyptian hieroglyphic-like patterns are So nice.

Are there any noticeable feature difference between the Z790 Ace and Ace Max other than it having the updated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi version?

One can never have enough storage 😀
I don’t know how they get through so much. My 2TB is plenty for me.

My eldest wants to build a NAS for the house actually!
Good Good - read MSI forum - "How to change the cmos battery on MEG Z790 ACE".
Ahaha true same problem … I have a z590ace
Sweet looking motherboard and excellent video fams. No complaints with more m.2 slots.

i will say i do like the new board. they put a lot hands on this. thanks Seek. i do colaborate with a brand but that board look very nice

just buy Z690. Because nothing special but cost you 2x~3x money !!
The ACE finally looking good again. IMO nothing beats the Z490 ACE looks wise.
Looks like a pretty board. I am sure the features are great to..
Спасибо огромное за обзор данной материнской платы!

DAMN this is one of the most gorgeous Motherboard I have seen !!!
the msi z690 force had 5 m2 slots and it has been in production since early 2022 I believe
Obviously a much better motherboard than my ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO, not on looks but on functions
Great Work! I would like to see an overview of the new motherboard from Asrock b650e taichi lite

Limited lane availability.
Less USB but more lanes or USB-C
Triple pcie x8 support? That sounds coool!
Thx for the video. Would that fit in the fractal north case?
I've been looking for the answer to this question for ages... how is the motherboard lighting powered on while the board is on display, with no traditional power cables connected?
MSI and Gigabyte boards have a connector for Demo mode that you can plug a special cable in and use a USB powerbank to light the board up
Thanks so much for the reply mate! Big fan of the channel.. keep up the amazing work!@@GearSeekers
4:03: the third slot is PCI-E 4.0 X4.
EOY2021 i got the msi X570s unify-x max with 6 m.2 slots, it was the only one with this much m.2 slots
Brand new dead end motherboard tho isn’t it? I would like an upgrade but want it to support at least a couple of updates of CPU.

Aesthetically looks great imho.
I would rather see more PCIe slots since they can be used for M.2 drives. Multitask FTW
4:55 7800mt/s or 8266mt/s?
Because you say 7800mt/s but the writing in the top right corner reads 8266mt/s
psu for msi meg z790 ace max..?
What a monster.. wow.. I am not really a fan of the dragon logo but that is just a subjective opinion. cheers.
Does anyone know the release date? Cant find this board anywhere.
Where to connect HDMI port and display port? Why I don't see here, please advise.

will it support intel quick sync for creators

Which version of the Lan Intel Ethernet Adapters does this come with i225-v or i226-v?
i226-v from memory
The Arous Z690 master had 5 m.2 slots
th,thx.....................thx msi for CPU POWER
The ASUS rog z690 apex already had 5 m.2
The manual said M2_4 is PCIe 5, not the first one. is it true?
Yes, and if used it will disable PCIE Slot 2 and PCIE Slot 1 Turns to a 5.0 x 8. Or if PCIE Slot 2 is used it disables M2_4
everytime i wonder, how do you get the rgb to turn on without the board being powered or having a cpu installed ?
Magic :D
(The boards have a demo mode)
@@KlaireGearSeekers thanks ! but how do they get power though? Is it a dedicated header ?
$700 American at least. My z590 ace was msrp is $500

yeah if you have 900 euros for the motherbord
send more power to those slots. lol

AMD only. Intel charges more for their MBs. Also, avoid ASUS as they don't update their BIOS often
Intel doesn't make their motherboards. If your system is running fine then you have no reason to update your BIOS
Are people really buying new motherboards for a single gen CPU?

10 minutes for a motherboard? who has the time for this, honestly!?
